This is true if they understand what they are. I struggled with this for a long time and caused a lot of confusion about what is going on for a long time. I just recently found out what a empath was and never knew everything I was experiencing was an actual thing. Plus as I experience this myself, I can feel something going on with somebody that isnt even near me. In one instance it was on the other side of the country. There were a couple time I experienced a emotion I knew was not my own. It turned out to be a old friend that I have not talked to for 2 years after she got married. But to find out later when that person called me and told me about the trauma that happened to her with a timeline, I knew it was her emotion I felt. There have been many times Ive caught myself feeling someone elses emotion that I knew is not mine, but not aware of who it is. Anger, Love, stress and anxiety, can be very overwhelming when someone is experiencing problems with it. However its not as easy to control and maintain like what is said in this video. It definitely does effect the body like what is said in this video, but it definitely doesnt turn someone to anger like the clips they used. I have never been put into a rage for it or even showed any type of physical aggression. But your body is definitely being overwhelmed with adrenalin. I feel it in my chest. Depending on the emotion it can feel like butterflies amped up to 100 but this is usually when you are communicating with that person. Other feelings we get from out of nowhere it is like a passing thought that isnt your own. Its a difficult thing to explain. People might think it would be nice to experience this but it can feel like a curse. Our emotions tell a lot about us if you can experience what someone else is feeling. Its not mind reading, but thoughts and emotions are closely entwined and you can feel the intentions of their emotion. It can be hard to handle a negative group of people and being overwhelmed by their emotional thought but maybe that is just me for lack of understanding. I have had anxiety pills prescribed to me which does take the edge off the the overwhelming feelings sometimes. The toughest thing about this is trying to separate and identify the emotions you are feeling from someone else, from your own emotions. Many times you can just think it might be your own emotions but just a little stronger than usual. However there are many times you know for sure those emotions are not your own. If there was training for this, I would definitely think about doing it. I was crushed 7 years ago which caused brain trauma and these emotions have been so much stronger than before. It can be very confusing and difficult to handle sometimes. As for the rapid breathing, that may be the initial signal, long deep breaths are what helps to handle that rush. Another thing that help is to enjoy nature while your alone at a lake or a walk through a forest. Ive never slapped myself, yelled into a pillow, or clinched my fists in anger. Meditation and breathing exercises help a lot and that alone time is a must.
