When I was at school I often used to cycle to my Nan's for lunch. I had to cross the bridge to get back to school and I loved it if the bridge had to lift to let a boat through as it used to take quite a few minutes for the bridge to lift and then drop back down. I often used to use the bridge opening as an excuse for being late for school whether the bridge had opened or not.
Good to see these repairs going on. I live a long way away now but I come from Oare and have been over the bridge many many time in my childhood and also thro’ the bridge on a coaster in my youth to Agricano (doubt its still there now). I shall definitely have a look on my next visit.
Jim Agricano's became a supermarket in the 90's, now refurbed as a Morrisons. The temp bridge is in, the old one got chopped up. A swinging replacement by summer 2021? lets hope. I'm glad the film helped you reconnect with the town. best regards Alex
Alex Law Thank you Alex, I knew there was a supermarket where the old gas works was, I suppose that covered the whole of that area. Thanks for your reply. Jim
It was a privilege to be able to capture it for all the groups that have put so much effort in for so many years and all of the townsfolk who contributed their hard earned cash to meet the funding requirement. Thanks for the compliment Alan

The good thing about this video was the music, very atmospheric, the worst thin about this video, was the place.
Sorry you feel like that about Faversham. When you come from there it’s rather saddening to find someone doesn’t like it.
