Daughter of the Moon Goddess is absolute gold. The character arc is wonderful, every setting and description is beautiful, the interactions are amazingly realistic. I know I’m just adding to the hype, but it’s so much deserved
i started daughter of the moon goddess yesterday, mostly because its xianxia (a genre i'm addicted to), i'm a slow reader rn because I stay super busy, but the setup is interesting thus far (that said it reminds me of some chinese drama's i've watched... i think people who watch the historical/fantasy ones will know what i mean, drama comes crashing in to a peaceful setting right away, you barely know the main girl at all because it happens in the first chapter, meaning you get to see her worst before you know her best)
Tbh i eye every over-hyped book with skepticism. I dont assume they're BAD, but I have very specific tastes in writing style. I dont enjoy the more simple styles that a lot of modern books follow. I suspect it's to make them more engaging as audio books.
Uh I just finished Fate inked in blood, it was fine. Idk what you read but I think you’ll like it since you’ve read the authors other books. I give it a 4 star personally.
Another book series you should read is Warrior Cats, but on the actual books it says "Warriors." I don't know if you're supposed to read Dawn of the Clans first or The Prophecies Begin first. If you do read it, good luck...
OMG fellow Warriors fan here. That series is literally my whole life it sparked my passion for writing which is now my #1 hobby. It's absolutely amazing I think everyone over the age of 10 should read it
I was so scared to read the Cruel Prince because I thought I will not like it but it turns out that it was a great book. Maybe not 5/5⭐️ for me but I still enjoyed it. Wicked King is so much better tho.
To tell you the truth, I read fireborne and thought it was a little above good. It wasn’t terrible but I didn’t have stars in my eyes. It was just a pretty good read for me
The second book of daughter of the moon goddes destroyed me. I dont think ill recover. Worth it tho. The first book is more action, the second one more dialoge and trauma. Lots of trauma.
Fate Inked In Blood was so hot and cold for me every time I was about to dnf something would happen to keep me reading Definitely not up to hype just an ok decent book
Fate inked in blood was entertaining but very cookie cutter plot that I feel like I’ve read a million times before. But overall it wasn’t terrible just a bit repetitive
I highly suggest both Fireborne and Daughter of the Moon Goddess. I’ve only read these two. I suggest not allowing the “hype” to scare you away from reading a book. If it’s not for you, you can DNF it. It’s that easy. You’re going to miss out on so many incredible books if you’re afraid to read them due to them not “living up to the hype.” Just dive in and I bet you’ll be angry with yourself for not reading “hyped” books sooner.

If you love Xianxia then you'll enjoy DotMG. I loved it and I'm a big fan of chinese dramas, so reading it was the perfect escape for me.
I read the first two and adored them both.
if you’re into lyrical writing/magical realism, i’d highly recommend Jandy Nelson’s novels. I’ll Give You The Sun is my favorite book of all time!!
I love magical realism sm 😍
I ADORED daughter of the moon goddess, it is beautiful.

I'm the same but with movies/TV shows
I get those feelings too and then realized that it often comes about because of the summary. The summary of books are sometimes poorly done.

Don't listen to the gut 😭 it wants to judge a book by its cover
But the covers are pretty… I don’t understand. This is off hype alone 😂

I really enjoyed daughter of the moon goddess, but I dnf’d the sequel cuz I got spoiled that she ends up w the guy I hate lmao

3. I don’t know

Yeah I read and form my own opinion but I post my thoughts constantly about books I’m excited about, nervous for, etc. content…
Daughter of the goodness moon was just ok , beautiful prose but not so much substance
Unresolved textual tension just had a video on the first book and ripped it to pieces 🫣
