Wow, this was such a good explanation. My initial thoughts on this is that the Hamiltonian Operator is kind of crazy, like how you ever know the total energy of the system? Guess I will have to watch a video on that now..down the rabbit hole..
The point of the hamiltonian is not to solve it, is to show that it IS solveable albeit practically impossible unless you have an infinite amount of energy to feed into a simulation algorithm.
Big thanks for explaining in everyday language what each symbol represents and their relationships to each other in trying to work out the changes in a quantum state, and for telling us at the end that it gets very complicated with all those subatomic movements! And not taking it for granted like so many academics, scholars and professors, so called experts, in their ivory towers, who do not bother to explain the maths symbols and concepts, so that the most people may understand.
excellent video. I'm studying my first quantum course at uni currently, just got to the Schrödinger equation. This video definitely helped me gain an intuition for it. Cheers.
As a struggling physics student, this helped clear a lot of unknown concepts about Schrodinger's Equation; thank you very much! Would there be a part 2 where you explain a bit more for them science ppl?
At uni (40 years ago) the lecturer said that the equation was best understood in the Icelandic language. Is that simply nonsense (as I always assumed)? Anyway, thank you so much for your videos, I love your passion, energy and clarity. Have you done a video on Dirac’s equation? I’ve always been fascinated by it but have no idea whatsoever…
Nice job. Would love to see a video on the "implications" of Schrodinger equation e.g. as listed in Wikipedia article--quantization, tunneling, particles as waves. You may cover this in other videos but didn't really spot it anywhere. Thank you!

Excellent video, Parth! Thank you. A naturall thing to do would be to make (in the same easy style) a video about the wave function. As it is within the Schrödinger equation, such a video would be very complementary. I am sure you can do it, you really have a talent for explaining "weird stuff" easy to understand.
Perhaps you could discuss Eigenvalues , Eigenstates , Eigenfunctions , relevant to the wave function of the universe . :) I think your explanations are valuable and well presented . Thank you .

Ooooooo okay so could you make a vid about what people mean when they talk about a “unified field theory” and what its implications would be for our understanding of physics at this time? Then I guess more specifically, how our understanding of how forces interact with fields might be different, and address much of the speculation surrounding the topic. We think about fields and forces as being somewhat separate and acting upon another object/interacting with each other in a system(s) (at least where I am at in my UG physics career we are still thinking about it like this..) Also what are some of the biggest hurdles/limitations in that area of research? Love your vids, cheers! 😊
Great Video Parth !! The one thing you could have included is a brief description of what the wave function psi is. You keep referring to it as the "quantum state" but what exactly is this state ?
And the Schrodinger time-dependent equation is *only* the means to a non-relativistic expression of a quantum state. You must derive other equations (form of differential equation) for systems that are of higher energy and containing particles with speeds approaching speed of light (as most subatomic particles do) - these would be the known relativistic Dirac equation and Klien-Gordon equation to name a few.
Hey if energy is interconvertible into mass according to THIS Equation of E=mc² then I think that mass could be found by converting the energy . And also if photons has no mass then how does it reflects? Is it ether which is belived in which light travel, reflects or photons works as a spring inside ether then too if it act as a spring then it should have some things in it .

i is not a constant there. i is dimension. state always evolves in i(maginary) dimension in time. some times in real dimension(non stationary state (wave) function) . this equations is a differential equation to describes property of the function that describes quantum state of a quantum system. that function is called wave function. So this equation says energy of the system is equals the change of the state is time imaginary dimension. In other words state evolves in time with the same energy.
