The unbelievable laziness of Frankie's family. Why not just put the decorations up themselves and let Frankie lounge around? They just HAD to guilt her into doing all the work 😅
I think deep down they knew Frankie would eventually cave. And she did. In a later episode, Sue called her mother out for secretly enjoying the drama of their household. Not that it excused the kids’ laziness, but she had a point.
Why does Christmas has to be a carnival of themed decorations just like Halloween or a themed park? That’s not what Christmas is about, if it’s not your way of living Christmas just do your thing, right?
She would love what I do for Christmas; I just throw a few bits of tinsel and a few fairy lights around, put up a tiny little tree on my bookcase and I’m done! Easy, stress-free decorating ❤❤
You got to be kidding first Frankie quit doing Christmas decoration just so she can take a break from the rest of the Christmas holidays and now she change her mind as she decided to start putting them up before Christmas Day. I bet Frankie only did this for her husband Mike's sake because he told her that he never got to enjoy Christmas since his mother died and before he met her.
@@cherylschantz9893 still he is capable of it. As are the kids. Why does she always have to do it if it’s his wish? He has to be off work to do it? The tree took an hour. This was the era of family blogs and social media just getting started. The pressure and the ideas endless. At least no elf on shelf. It was the common theme. Two parents working. Can’t do it all. Can complain about it all the time. Axel low maintenance. If they stopped at one he would have been fine. Sue and Brick were needy and a handful. Not bad, just required a lot. Parents throw their all into their kids working 2 jobs or 5. Have time or not. Have money or not. They did a lot for family cause you ‘do for family’. But a lot was done for them as well by family. Even most the neighbors great. Just that one house. I hate neighbor issues. Truth be told he made a good living. And she had an income most the time as well. They bought the house in the 90’s. As the show began he just got promoted. Even with the pull back at 2009 in home prices they would have been ahead. I’m next door in Illinois. I loved they highlighted the Midwest cause tv is very coast centered in settings. And so many characters awesome. Brad. Sean. Nancy. It was not just the family.
Sure that to lol Do you Nancy lol It sweet how much she loves Mike and Mike enjoys it cause he didn’t get it after his mom died but I agree sometimes parents need a break
A real man who's talking about how he loves celebrating christmas with his wife and family would had had his children in him.Do those things, including when you see she did everything by herself, everyone would have had a job.No, there was no love there.Their love was toxic when you really think about it
@ I feel people over use the word toxic. He said understood her needing a break just that he liked the traditions. He spent the whole episode trying to get a perfect Christmas tree when the store was being impossible. He’s flawed but he’s a good husband and one of my favorite tv Dads
It's shown time and time again that she doesn't(or can't) trust the rest of the family to pitch in with doing the bare minimum. In the Donahue's household it's shown how the family shares in decorating, and it's only in the later episodes that the Heck's do too[the Christmas when sue develops a pine allergy]. Frankie has also been shown throughout the show to inevitably caving to guilt tripping. Remember that her character flaw was hypocrisy.
I stopped decorating over a decade ago, no tree, no dinner. Just pantless eating Xmas junk food relaxing, Frankie is right.....until husband "ruined" it.

Lol yeah Sue could just buy wrapping paper herself
To be honest I don't think Mike did it on purpose

I do think Frankie should have told the kids to do the Christmas stuff themselves but she didn’t but that would have helped
Frankie embraced her inner Axl
That moment when u realize Nancy is basically the Middles version of Ned Flanders
But she is less temperamental than Flanders
If it's so important to him, he can do it himself. He didn't even try to help.
He was busy trying to get the plastic tree that was his storyline lol

This is one of my favorite Christmas episodes the show did.

Sometimes it’s wife guilt and not mom guilt. She could have just put ornament on the tree and stuck a wreath on the door.
I love the middle
I love the way Nancy covers Frankie up at 1:53.
Mother's always do the most in any holiday but come on part of the fun is doing all that nonsense together
One year he did the tree, the village, the snowman.
But, he ended up being so exhausted that he fell asleep and was late for Frankie’s solo.

I love reading the comments under this show lol people are always fighting or getting annoyed with the behaviour of at least one the characters lmao
I like the shopping bags.
Mike made her realize it because of his lousy Christmas’ from his childhood
Sure that to lol
Do you Nancy lol

@@mariaskabardonis8353 Hear, hear!
It's like Christmas With the Kranks if it was actually funny.
"Cover yourself"? What does he mean by that? She's not naked. 1:31
Some of the decor not needed. I wonder if Nancy said no to Xmas.
This was the worst episode. I was loving it till she caved. Mike was going to bed. She should have too

Does the algorithm think I want to see clips of this show when the mom was being a bad mom, or was she always a bad mom, or what?
is this reall what xmas is like in america? staying up till 3 making stuff? that sucks
Frankie is so annoying, just another ploy for attention.
You know who’s annoying you are annoying
Can't stand Patricia Heaton so this episode suits her
Why can’t you stand her?
