That place should’ve exploded when these young musicians finished. THAT WAS REMARKABLY TERRIFIC!!! They are blessed to have such a deep bench of talented vocalists. I sure hope they’re still making music! A School Of Rock House Band Dad Who Really Knows How Hard These Kids WORK! Chris in NJ
That young guitarist! Killed it! Great job on some tough links. The best part is knowing for sure that people will be listening to the most gifted band ever long after we are gone
I shot this, and I assure you, not one note was tweaked in post-production. Hell, I was editing these things on the train from Cleveland to Philadelphia, and I had no time to do anything like that. This is exactly what these young people sound like.
The remarkable part is that these young musicians are from different schools. They learned the parts on their own, then got together for two and a half days of rehearsal before their first show.
The blonde handling the lead vocals looks fairly young, but she has an incredible voice and great control over it. Hope she keeps it as she grows up, but she's really ready to record or go to Broadway now.
I'm amazed how many of these kids look as well as sound like like the artists they are playing. Accoustic guitar guy could be a '70's Steve Howe from Yes
Wow. Not a weak link in the chain. Vocals, guitars, flute, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion all right on. Kudos to the SoR people that pull this all together. Seeing young people bring great music back to life gives me hope. 😎😜😁
It is gratifying and moving to see young people of the 21st century sing a classic from the band Yes. Congratulations young people for their excellent musical taste!
I just love how much kids of their age seem to be enjoying themselves so much playing a song that probably came out even before their parents were born!
A wonderful cover. Just the fact that you’d attempt to cover such a sophisticated song is amazing. I’ve just stumbled across all these school of Rock groups performing these classic gems. All the songs from my youth. Bravo!
OMG, I've long believed that only Jon Anderson could sing this with emotions, and I was wrong all the way ! You nailed it perfectly and made my day. Kudos to you all kids !
Jon himself is a big fan of the School of Rock program, and has performed with various locations. Here's a video from 6 years ago of Jon performing with St Louis School of Rock: ruclips.net/video/iqRXbO5gQEg/видео.html
These School of Rock videos are an endless source of amazement...they choose great, interesting songs (many of which, including this one, are notably difficult to cover) and often knock them out of the park. It's not intuitive to me why high school kids would be better live performers than almost every professional cover band I've ever seen, but that seems to be the case. Thanks so much, MWC, for all you post.
Excellent excellent! My favorite part of these SoR performances is how the musicians (they are musicians, not 'kids') take these classic tunes and make them their own rather than simply imitating.
What a mystery that Ashley Van Helden, the lead singer here, seems to have vanished from the internet. So talented and passionate about her singing, I'd love to see some newer stuff.
She could be in graduate school. One of the things that I found about these kids is, in addition to being brilliant musicians, they also excel academically.
I'm impressed totally awesome and yes it's amazing that that song is at this stage over 50 years old and yes the vocals are spot on for the cover they're presenting totally excellent this was one of the first albums that I got when I was all of 13 years old LOL and I started my vinyl collection
So young with so much talent. Usually youth is wasted on the young, but these young teens not wasting a moment of their youth :-) The Lead vocalist has an exceptional voice along with the backup vocalists.
They are much better than any "professional band ".These kids are great. And it looks like they are having fun. Great video and sound quality. I'll take all this you can give me.
Glenn Payne Thank you very much. I've been recording performances by some of these young musicians for years, and their love of making music makes it all worth it. I'll eventually have full concerts up.
Ya think the lead singer (Ashley Van Helden) was having the time of her life on this one? And the guitarist playing the white Tele taking on Steve Howe's parts like "No sweat". I've played this live before, and for me, it was a sweat.
Aaaaaaaagggghhhh!!!!! The way it cuts off - what a tragedy!!!! Yes, that was both badass and kick-ass - not easy to pull off. When Ricky Wilson (RIP) was the heartbeat of the band, the B52's were an entirely different animal - punky-punchy-dance - with great vocals. Here, the young musician playing drums is the heart of this band. Everyone was great, don't get me wrong but the drummer drove that beautiful, crazy train!
I can't stop myself from watching this Masterpiece! - so many talented musicians - but what a stunning voice on the young lady on lead vocals - WOW!
Lead Female vocalist killed it and the Flutist was right on...thanks I enjoy this.

This girl is a remarkably good singer.
Whatever that undefinable "It" is, she has it.
I've been a YES fan for 50 years. Not an easy song to play. These kids did a tremendous job. Credit for even attempting it. I want this show on dvd!
Close to the edge...
Don't kill the whales...
And You And I...
I love her.Vocals get stronger as song progresses. What about her look, her moves?Tough song to sing. She really sells it.
That young guitarist! Killed it! Great job on some tough links. The best part is knowing for sure that people will be listening to the most gifted band ever long after we are gone
Thank goodness these kids are playing the classics and not the digital music with auto tune . Keeping the rock alive!
I shot this, and I assure you, not one note was tweaked in post-production. Hell, I was editing these things on the train from Cleveland to Philadelphia, and I had no time to do anything like that. This is exactly what these young people sound like.
Love this girl's voice. Well done.
me too
That cat playing the Strat doing the lead stuff has got it going on! Nicely done!
Telecaster?
They nailed this one. Well done and the lead singer has a awesome voice
The remarkable part is that these young musicians are from different schools. They learned the parts on their own, then got together for two and a half days of rehearsal before their first show.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 😮😮😮
And the guitarist, bassist, keyboardist have awesome chops.
I'm guessing you don't play a musical instrument 🤔
@@larryscheller2476 just the drums till I was around 30 so for about 15 years but what does that have to do with my comment?
@@skipwilliam5639 it would be the difference between an educated opinion and an uneducated one .
wow, A+++
Lead guitar nailed the Steve Howe guitar parts! Overall as good as it gets! The school of Rock kids never cease to amaze me!
Some of the best vocal work I've heard on any of these SoR videos.
The blonde handling the lead vocals looks fairly young, but she has an incredible voice and great control over it. Hope she keeps it as she grows up, but she's really ready to record or go to Broadway now.
A young Cameron Diaz.
BRAVO with some extra bravo on it!
Let me throw a few more Bravos on that. This is amazing.
I am the biggest YES fan in the world. If i like this video then you know it has to be good! Phenomenal job by everyone on stage!!!
Unbelievable. Great feeling!!!
Absolutely crushed it. #Stl
You guys KILLED it! Shoutout to white Telecaster guy... Those solos and fills were sweet!
I'm amazed how many of these kids look as well as sound like like the artists they are playing. Accoustic guitar guy could be a '70's Steve Howe from Yes
So happy that today's Young teenagers are listening to good music 🎶🎶🎶
Really excellent performance. That's coming from a big YES fan who first saw them in the 70's. I wish more young people would check out their music.
Beautiful! As an old geezer who has seen it done live, I salute you.
That was awesome! The bass & keyboard players had huge shoes to fill- and the sounded great. Great job!
Just love the energy. So much fun.
Wow. Not a weak link in the chain. Vocals, guitars, flute, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion all right on. Kudos to the SoR people that pull this all together. Seeing young people bring great music back to life gives me hope. 😎😜😁
The guitarist killed it!
Fantastic job. The lead singer is a star!
She nailed it they all did a great job on this song..
It is gratifying and moving to see young people of the 21st century sing a classic from the band Yes. Congratulations young people for their excellent musical taste!
Execellent job by all!! Loved it!!
Thank you so much!
Holy moly ! That was just incredible 😊
WOW.... what a great job all across the board. Great singers and that lead singer.. She knocked it out of the park. What a voice!!!
it's neat to see young people appreciate a 50 year-old-classic song.
I just love how much kids of their age seem to be enjoying themselves so much playing a song that probably came out even before their parents were born!
Great harmonies
A wonderful cover. Just the fact that you’d attempt to cover such a sophisticated song is amazing. I’ve just stumbled across all these school of Rock groups performing these classic gems. All the songs from my youth. Bravo!
It's an amazing program, and I'm so proud that I spent a decade documenting some of the most talented young people I've ever met.
Those harmonies!!! Excellent!
Awesome kids.
Oh my goodness!!! These kids did such a great job on this rock classic!!!
That was awesome. I was getting chills, especially the 2nd part of the song when it started to rock out.
beautiful!!! the harmonies were spot on....
Well done with a special shout out for the lead and all the vocals.
OMG, I've long believed that only Jon Anderson could sing this with emotions, and I was wrong all the way ! You nailed it perfectly and made my day. Kudos to you all kids !

Lots of energy, good job to all these kids ! Well done. All of them.
If at least one of these kids get home and put an Yes album to listen, the job is done. Congrats, great job.

Wow the lead singer is fantastic! Great tone.
At 3:29 you see the quality of the band's cover go up a quantum level, as they really get into the 'all good people' section of the song.
Nice job 😎
Absolutely incredible!! Bravo!
Awesome Voice. And Great job by the rest of the band.
Amazing performance and GREAT ENERGY
The lady in the green dress is absolutely marvelous. Everybody involved with the song was great, but she was special.
Jon Anderson is a huge fan of the School of Rock program, and has performed with the kids. ruclips.net/video/iqRXbO5gQEg/видео.htmlsi=VfRdf6AzwVJDC42y
I've watched loads of these school of rock videos over the past few weeks, this is possibly the best yet, really well done.

All were great but WOW! That lead girls voice is uncommonly amazing!

Ashley Van Helden is great and very charming singer. I would like to see her sing Refugees by Van Der Graaf Generator.
Greetings from Czech Republic!
Awesome job, guys!
Vocal perfection! Outstanding!
Goosebumps , longtime Yes fan . Seen them live 6 times . Besides the guitarist pick up being to quiet , stellar performance !!
Brought a tear to me eye 🙂
