- Sadiq Khan has pledged to hit London drivers with a staggering one million speeding fines by year’s end.
The Mayor of London announced a tough new crackdown on speeding, setting strict targets for the Metropolitan Police to ramp up enforcement.
With the rollout of new cameras across the city, more drivers will be nabbed and fined.
Recent data revealed that nearly one in every four cars in the capital has received a speeding fine in the past six years.

In Britain mayors were traditionally for show, opening fetes, awarding prizes, welcoming sports stars etc. In many small villages a ten year old girl would be the mayor. It was Blair who saddled us with the extravagant waste of having mayors in positions of authority.

This is beginning to look like Zimbabwe. The local police in Zimbabwe had a weekly budget they needed to achieve in road fines issued simply to ensure they would be paid each month. This led to fines being issued for the most amazing things and if anyone thinks I am joking, I experienced it first hand during a stay in Zimbabwe some years back and I was chatting with the local police commissioner I played golf with one day in Hwange. I regularly picked up fines every month for various traffic offences during my 6 months in Zimbabwe.

Drove to London today in an electric car with all my tools for work, was an easy journey only a 6 hour round trip which used to take 45 minutes each way, what a mess London is now since all the cycle lanes and 20mph limits, how are engineers and food deliveries supposed to work in London.

I Whached a tv programme a few weeks ago that stated that the pollution on the London underground was vastly higher than the traffic. It was at least 4 to 5 times higher, and that's where they're trying to get people to travel.
