Not a good idea. A better idea is to get an Australian swag with all your bedding inside. Heaps easier and stronger being canvas that's waterproof. It has a built-in fly that can be closed while you are in it. I slept in the desert in one. It was a totally awesome experience. And so strong!

Stupid question, but why not set the tent stakes with your foot?

You don't have much control over the amount of pressure using your boots. Hit a stone or a tough root and bending or snapping the stakes, and you could injure yourself in the process. Always stay safe. You have travelling to do. Cheers for dropping by.
