I went to butlins for a school trip on Monday this week. Stayed 2 nights, food was nice, rides were fun but I regretted the waltzers lol. I screamed so badly and they disturbed the liquid in my ears from the spinning so I went deaf for a few minutes
This vlog was amazing but I also have one thing to say to you guys and that is thank you. Without you guys I wouldn’t be interested in roller coasters and wouldn’t have the urge to travel and try new roller coasters. So Shawn and Charlotte thank you for getting me into this stuff and I hope you guys had a good time at Butlin’s. Can’t wait for the next video!

I'm at Skegness butlins right now and skypark was amazing. It's a bit hard to get up there but it is the best park I've every seen and i can't wait to see it light up. I also went into the arcades and won 500 ticket in 30 minutes. I have also met lots of new people and made some friends in my first 5 hours here.
That tilting wheel you went on was one of my favourites at Morecambe's Frontierland! It was all yellow and I called it the the big yellow wheel lol! Xxx

Went to Butlin's Skegness, in 1991, when it was still called Funcoast World, and there were more than 3 Butlin's Holiday Camps in the UK. The funfair was a LOT smaller back then, and towards the back of the park. Only ride that I actually remember is the Mexican Hat Ride... went on that every day of the 10 days that we were there. I kinda wish that I had catalogued re-rides on things back then! Saw Buck Fizz there during that time, too. That was my first ever concert! Been to a few since then ahaaaa.... and have another one in Blackpool on Sunday! Yea I'm going on Pleasure Beach for a few hours lol, going on Valhalla and Enso, then going to the gig!!! So yea, nice to know that Butlin's is kinda cheap in the low season, I might go one year, reminisce or something...
The place I liked in Butlins was the beachcomber bar where you can watch the underwater view of the indoor pool, the theming was great, hope I am not giving my age 😂

Loved the top spin I can remember it being in a corner even loved the simulator too I can remember I was scared to go on top spin and the ride operator gave me a teddy bear to come on it staff are amazing. But I am so glad now they have spent the money in the fair ground and started to look after it
Trabant, Wipeout, Mexican Hat... I've heard it called loads of names, but it's always been my favourite flat ride. As far as I can remember it was the first "grown-up" flat ride I ever experienced... and to this day, one of the only ones that doesn't knock me sick. Love it!
I have only ever went to the Butlins in Minehead but I last went several years ago. I remember loving it so much when I was younger! Such an incredible vlog ❤

@@ThemeParkWorldwide I used to have this imagination of the Wooden Adventure Fort being much bigger on the hill, and the fairground arcade building was at the top of the hill, and you seemingly had to venture through the many depths of the fort to get to it. In my last dream of it when I was 12, the fairground arcade building seemed to also contain a games console and chill-out room and an entertainment venue of what appeared to be Centre Stage despite one being in the Skyline Pavillion itself. I might end up making a video based on this dream with the Skypark, the High Ropes Course and the Fairground Arcade building, along with Centre Stage...

We happened to book a trip here for September literally last weekend so this is great timing & really useful to get to see what its like as we've never been before It looks really good, a cheap & cheerful holiday, bargain for what you get for the money. Now I'm even even more excited about going

Stayed at bognor twice and done several day trips in the last 10 years and stayed at minehead once in about 1990. Did a day trip to one in wales when they were a thing and did the ride like boomerang at Pleasurewood hills that was my first ever ‘big’ ride
Another good vlog, really enjoyed and always look forward to the next. Nice funfair, really spacious, could maybe in Little Stars see a small junior coaster going in there 100%, but in main, maybe a Pinball X type coaster? Think thats what both types of parks could do with in both types of parks in my opinion, would love by the way all resorts maybe in future overtime recieve bigger coasters like what UK Parks have, but I don't think this is what will happen. But I guess all we can do is wait & see, but type of coaster I would love to see at one of the resorts one day is a coaster similar to Fly at Phantasialand, think something like this would be epic especially if does sort of what Mandrill Mayhem does? Circles entire resort at heights, twists and turns? Family thrill flying coaster for all thrills, families and all to experience? Think that would be epic, but doubt will happen. Skypark structure, man thats really high, tall. You have guts for climbing up through that metal tunnel at top of tower, looks to me a bit not strong to hold full adult, obviously it did as your still here, but I couldn't go on that at that height, not that brave lol. But congrats to you, real brave. Really good video, really enjoyed and look forward to Day two. 😀👍
I used to work for the Rock and sole in butlins years ago, I am so glad they kept improving the resort it looks amazing. The battered sausage and chips brought back a lot of memories 😂
31.16 The picture on the wall in the apartment, that is Billy Butlin himself riding the whirl. When I first went to Butlins at Skeggy in the 70s the Fairground was right at the other end of the resort towards Ingoldmels. Great to see the old place still looking good and brings back some great memories.
Just got back from butlins Skegness, we had an amazing time even though it rained and we froze everyday. I particularly liked the new sky park, which was the best park I’ve ever been to. We came for the Stephen Mulhern show and it was amazing, we even got a free room upgrade which was nice.
I have been to Skegness, Bognor and used to be one in puthwelli wales they used to have the umbrella ride and wales had a rollercoaster and every butlins used to have a waltzer that is my favourite ride it looks like it’s not at Skegness anymore which is a huge shame

Also watched and loved the Walk the Woodie video you both did as well and loving the new World of Theme Parks Museum - so artistic - you have obviously studied theme park design very closely and you and your Pa are very talented. I have never actually been to a Butlins holiday resort. However i have been to the Golden Sands Caravan park twice in Mablethorpe which is about 17 miles north of Skegness in Lincolnshire, England. Golden Sands is a Haven Holidays Caravan park & that was very enjoyable to visit. I believe Butlins is actually in Ingoldmells which is about 4 miles north of Skegness. Butlins does look better than Haven Holiday parks. It looks like there is more to do at Butlins in regards to entertainment.
I was there the same time as you (and feature briefly on your fantasy vlog 😂😂) wish our apartment was like yours... Ours clearly needed a touch up compared to yours.
Still annoyed that they've taken away the camel racing.... My absolute favourite thing about Butlins. I would of happily sat there for an hour daily just wasting my money 💰🤑💰
Skegness has always felt like the real Butlins to me and my view remains the same. Off peak the value is phenomenal but whenever you stay there is so much do in the area, so many arcades, fairs and attractions, the only seaside resort that can compete with Blackpool for non stop fun. That chippy tea you had was extremely good value, look forward to day 2
Yes many memories, Butlins skegness every year from 1980 with monorail and chairlifts when fair was at opposite end of site. Coming for last time to skegnes in october one last hooray and only 4 hours on train from manchestsr. Visited minehead once in 2005
I was wondering what they were going to put in the old spa building I went into the spa and it was lovely and good to see they have done the fun fair up looks amazing
I have only been to butlins 3 times but my wife used to go every year from the mid 70s.When we were in Skegness she pointed out things that were different. The fairground used to be on the other side of the resort, there were also 2 theatres the Gaiety Theatre and Playhouse theatre. Next to the underground passage was a roller skating rink.There were boats on the lake and the outdoor pool was at the front. The indoor pool had glass windows so if you were in the cafe you could see people feet. We last visited Skegness in 2014 and my wife's favourite bit was the Spa. May look into visiting again with our granddaughter soon

We stayed there last week. Some of the new rides weren’t working. Kids had a great time. That sky park was a bit of a challenge to climb up. Is the duck still sat outside the skyline on her eggs? We were shouting ‘Look’ when you walked past
This appears to be the most popular Butlins holiday destination that’s almost got direct beach access with lovely views of the ocean and the park itself, this park looks much fresher now there’s new concept attractions too, this was a really nice vlog that’s really funny with Charlotte braving the spinner at the same time Kylie Minogue spinning around and Pete burns song spin me right round sprung to mind 😆 would you both consider taking part in the USA U.K. tv fun show physical challenge called wipeout? you both would be great at that 👍something different TPWW related

Awesome! I love the idea of Butlins. I wonder if they'd build one down-under. I believe if you give people a reason to live somewhere, can play and work like Butlins, its a whole industry based around hospitality. I used to go to Butlins Skegness every year when i was little with my mum, dad, brother, nan and grandad and one year i went for my birthday in December and it snowed and we wenr in the beach in the snow and it was so strange.

Pleasurewood hills and Butlins are underrated
If I was going to buntlins in Skegness during the summer holidays I would rate it as the best holiday park for everyone in the UK.

However i have been to the Golden Sands Caravan park twice in Mablethorpe which is about 17 miles north of Skegness in Lincolnshire, England.
Golden Sands is a Haven Holidays Caravan park & that was very enjoyable to visit.
I believe Butlins is actually in Ingoldmells which is about 4 miles north of Skegness.
Butlins does look better than Haven Holiday parks.
It looks like there is more to do at Butlins in regards to entertainment.

I was there the same time as you (and feature briefly on your fantasy vlog 😂😂) wish our apartment was like yours... Ours clearly needed a touch up compared to yours.
Still annoyed that they've taken away the camel racing.... My absolute favourite thing about Butlins. I would of happily sat there for an hour daily just wasting my money 💰🤑💰

Skegness has always felt like the real Butlins to me and my view remains the same. Off peak the value is phenomenal but whenever you stay there is so much do in the area, so many arcades, fairs and attractions, the only seaside resort that can compete with Blackpool for non stop fun. That chippy tea you had was extremely good value, look forward to day 2

Yes many memories, Butlins skegness every year from 1980 with monorail and chairlifts when fair was at opposite end of site. Coming for last time to skegnes in october one last hooray and only 4 hours on train from manchestsr. Visited minehead once in 2005
I was wondering what they were going to put in the old spa building I went into the spa and it was lovely and good to see they have done the fun fair up looks amazing
I have only been to butlins 3 times but my wife used to go every year from the mid 70s.When we were in Skegness she pointed out things that were different. The fairground used to be on the other side of the resort, there were also 2 theatres the Gaiety Theatre and Playhouse theatre. Next to the underground passage was a roller skating rink.There were boats on the lake and the outdoor pool was at the front. The indoor pool had glass windows so if you were in the cafe you could see people feet. We last visited Skegness in 2014 and my wife's favourite bit was the Spa. May look into visiting again with our granddaughter soon

They should bring back the Boomerang Coaster and the Simulator that were famous for having at one of there old Welsh sites.

Off been 15 times in Skegness and that’s the only one off been to we go twice every year
We stayed there last week. Some of the new rides weren’t working. Kids had a great time. That sky park was a bit of a challenge to climb up. Is the duck still sat outside the skyline on her eggs? We were shouting ‘Look’ when you walked past

This appears to be the most popular Butlins holiday destination that’s almost got direct beach access with lovely views of the ocean and the park itself, this park looks much fresher now there’s new concept attractions too, this was a really nice vlog that’s really funny with Charlotte braving the spinner at the same time Kylie Minogue spinning around and Pete burns song spin me right round sprung to mind 😆 would you both consider taking part in the USA U.K. tv fun show physical challenge called wipeout? you both would be great at that 👍something different TPWW related

Awesome! I love the idea of Butlins. I wonder if they'd build one down-under. I believe if you give people a reason to live somewhere, can play and work like Butlins, its a whole industry based around hospitality. I used to go to Butlins Skegness every year when i was little with my mum, dad, brother, nan and grandad and one year i went for my birthday in December and it snowed and we wenr in the beach in the snow and it was so strange.
The mystery Black thing in the kitchen drawer looked like the handle for the grill pan

Butlins is great. Has a poor reputation but it’s so cheap out of term time. We love it. Looks like Skegness has had a lot of investment too.
