- Congress continues to work on a deal to avoid the deadline to raise the debt ceiling and end the government shutdown. All four original band members of "The Rascals," Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Dino Danelli and Gene Cornish, will join Ted Simons to talk about their music, their show, and their lives.
Dino Danelli was so overlooked as a drummer, it's a crime!
his choice
Dino was the BEST rock drummer!!!
Not really. Then -60's, if You seen Him "Live" -there was No contest . We, all knew His creative powerful originality . But , Yes compared to now, they make icons of mediocrity in comparison. He was a Phenom.
It's great to see all four back together.
These guys are excellent musicians and it was so cool to see them back together again after so many years!
A great interview! He should have talked about how Dino is the greatest drummer that ever lived, imo.
I listened to their music nonstop!
Saw them in concert.
Had a major crush on Dino!
Although I was a huge Beatles fan in 60's, I loved The Young Rascals & played their songs too with my then group The Soul Sounds. "Love Is A Beautiful Thing", "Mustang Sally", "Good Lovin'" & "You Better Run" are just a few of the many classics I still enjoy playing !
For my money, You Better Run / Love Is a Beautiful Thing is in the top ten singles of all time. Great chords, riffs, melody, harmony & counterpoint can be perfect but lifeless unless the musicians manage to infuse their personality into their contribution. The Rascals may have had more fused musical personality than any group in pop history and never more so than on that amazing single. It's got everything, all within 3 minutes a side, most pop musicians spend a lifetime searching for in vain.
Sounds like a great bunch of guys , in addition to being fantastic musicians .
That was a great interview! It's so awesome to see al the original members of the band together after so many years!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love ❤️ these guys !!!🌾🎶🎭🎩🍒
Dino's gone and the remaining members probably will never play together again. RIP Dino.
There isn't anyone to take Dino's place? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Gene Cornish is not in good health.
Impacting people's lives in a positive way!!! VERY well said Ted!!
They were the first act that I saw at the young Westbury Music Fair on Long Island.. I was so close that I could actually see Felix's fingers on the keys. They were billed as the "Young Rascals" then.
They were fantastic. Their music, the vocals and harmonies were definitely on par with The Beatles and The Beach Boys.
Sounds like a blast! Thanks for sharing!
RIP, Dino!!
What a great band whose music made my days better in the 60’s and 70’s. RIP Mr. Danielle.
One of the few groups left from the 60s with the original line up still around. They are also another group that quickly got much better in such a short time. Dino Dinelli was also on the dating game in the 60s when the Rascals were at their peak.
Did Dino danelli ever get married? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Dino was terribly overlooked, he was without a doubt a true rock & roll trailblazer, and one of the very best to ever sit behind a drum set.
For the so-called Rock groups, the Bee Gees and The Rascals were my fave. The BGs for romance and melody and The Rascals for genuine soul. Though short-lived, The Rascals left a huge legacy.
And a legacy that is not mentioned enough
Great group from the sixties.Fantastic. Love them
EVANGELIST Roger Mansour
Former Vagrants drummer
Rascals are great.
Great interview
I still love them all 😩❤️❤️❤️❤️
A pity it didn't last. Gone their separate ways again. With the passing of Dino they will never perform together again
I have known The Rascals for over 50 years (yikes). They still sound as awesome as ever.
You were in love with Gene Cornish
Why didnt the interviewer ask if they're ever going to make another album ? Would have been a good question
Legends. Simple as that. Absolutely legendary. Gifted talents, AND, gifted with character and integrity that few in the music industry in those times could boast. They're wonderful human beings. They were America's "Beatles." I feel blessed to have been able to witness their success when I was young. Yes...Dino was one of the BEST who ever lived (so sad he passed so early). The Rascals were deep...better than most people knew they were. Thanks for posting this excellent interview.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Thay still got it.🎤🎤🎤🎸🥁👍
Ludwig should make a replica of Dino danielle’s drum kit
If you have ever heard "What Kind of Love Is This" by Joey D & the Starliters. (circa 1963) and listen to the last lyrics of the back ground singers singing "What Kind of Love Is This. It is obvious that it has the "sound" of the Young Rascals! I noticed this 50+ years ago.
Dino....hat and sunglasses...Paul.
the is actually a very good interview
Fast forwarded through a lot to get to the Rascals. Geez
A Class Act❤️
After, this time .Felix cat wrote a book .He, mentioned that the reason was, they all gave different answers about the experiences they had and contributed to. Really , feel the other three " were not well represented."
CHANGE THAT TITLE AND CUT OUT THE "GOV'MENT" PART!!!!
Rascals at 11:07
The Rascals? Middle of the road musicians. They are really over romanticizing their songs here;
none of their music changed my life; it was pop filler. nice music. nothing special.
Toby Blake. The Rascals are top 10 USA bands of the 1960s. If you’ve done better than we salute you.
There are one of the best musicians of there time , they actually played there instruments and wrote there songs unlike many many of there time who used the wreaking crew to make the band including The Beach Boys .
@@JamesBrown-cx3xf could not agree with you more
If you grew up in No Jersey The Rascals were big. And boy could Dino twirl the sticks.
Better than Bruce springstain ever was
