I like to think that Yassop is scared of Usopp because he's heard these tales. He subjugated giants and Kaido's beasts, his face transforms into a demon that possesses an entire population of Dressrosa, declared war on the World Government, scared ghosts himself, he was once kicked out of the group for challenging the captain, and can transform into a superhero to hone in his evil side.
I LOVE the idea of Usopp facing a Giant!!! Like you say, it could literally be a David & Goliath moment if he managed to defeat them. Would be so insane!
@@Govofficial literally perfect! I hope we get to see this fulfilled on some level, even if it is, and maybe even preferabbly, in a unique oda-esque way!
In retrospect I loved the moment from Dressrosa for Ussop. He suddenly felt so much fear after Robin turned into a toy and was forgotten since because she was forgotten he also forgot his reason to go to Enies lobby and become brave. And because of that he made a massive stride in his bravery, like on enies lobby, however this time it was without the mask of Sogeking, as if he finally let sogeking go
Such a good point. It’s crazy to me that ppl think ussop is the least developed strawhat. Between water 7, enies lobby and dressrosa, he’s arguably seen the MOST development in terms of character growth. Maybe not power scaling but definitely given so many character moments across the series
Its quite poetic honestly, losing just ONE member of the crew and suddenly you're like a different person, its like losing a part of yourself. I bet every single strawhat would react to a similar way if they forget just one of their crew.
As far as we know Usopp is the only character in One Piece history that has two active bounties. It would be hilarious if someday we run across a bounty hunter trying to locate Sogeking or even get the Duvall moment for Usopp when we reach an actual Sniper Island.
I love how Usopp relates to so many tales, Pinocchio and the boy who cried wolf are a given, but also Gulliver when you think about the Tontatta and giants. It's likely his time on Elbaf will follow the lines of David or Thor, but there's also Baldr(aka Baldr the Brave, brother of Thor and...known primarily for the story of his death).
I think we may see an archery contest between an Elbaf giant and Usopp, specifically the feat of William Tell, who shot an apple off his son's head. Its one of the world's most famous stories, its exactly the kind of story that Oda draws inspiration from
I think Usopp power will be tied closer to Yggdrasil, since he has the whole plant vibes. I also he potentially might pull an Odin and sacrifice one of his eyes for a power up, and become the "eye-patch" pirate.
I feel like Ussop's big Elbaf moment will be a declaration/fight defending his friends and their pride. His source of admiration towards the giants isn't just that they defend their pride and way of life, but that they actively seek out defending it. It doesn't matter where they are or what's happening, this is their way of life and they will gladly throw away those very lives defending it. In comparison, yes, Ussop has had his big "My captain will become king of the pirates" moment, notably against Miss Merry Christmas and Ulti, but he was already fighting them and he was already losing. Imagine if Loki or Shanks makes fun of Luffy and his dreams, and Ussop, knowing he can't win, knowing he'll get his sh*t wrecked, still challenges him and refuses to back down
I’m sorry but I’ll be the guy to say it if usopp does not do anything in elbalf it will solidify him as the worst strawhat. So usopp it’s now or never.
How exactly does he become the worst??? Bcoz u personally don't enjoy him and require him to be "strong" as some sort of confirmation of relevance....give me a break ffs😒
@@ryanamans5576 no because I’m sick of you usopp fans crying about a power up when oda has done nothing but sideline usopp for most of the new world part of the story so do me a favor and hush up lol I don’t have to like usopp. Usopp is trash to me bc he’s trash my minds not gonna change I started one piece as a kid and all of usopp gags and shit are old to me know. I’m sick of him crying and running away from fights he’s part of emperor crew. Sorry buddy just cuz I don’t like him doesn’t mean I don’t like him as a strawhat hes just not in my top 20 characters. Tell me if you please who did usopp fight in wano paige one that shit was pathetic nami carried all of that. Oda has constantly and consistently side lined him all I said is basically it’s now or never for usopp to be a halfway decent character.
I have to respectfully disagree.... While I whole heartedly want him to have his moment in Elbaf; he isn't going to be the worst Strawhat without it. He already has more growth than almost any other member; and being one of the core 5, it already has provided him huge screen time. If you really want to complain about someone doing nothing; complain about Brook. If you want to complain about someone being weak, Nami is as weak if not weaker than him. And if your point is just that you don't like his attitude or vibe, that's totally subjective. And on bad shenanigans and antics and being unbearable; Sanji is hands down the leader there.
If Usopp does get a norse based attack, it should be something like Gungnir. As a sniper it would fit. Odin's spear Gungnir is a magical spear which never misses, maybe something to reference his observation haki?
I thought the Brave Warrior thing was defined by Honor on little garden. Usopp has always been a liar, trickster and coward. His plans are often sneaky and illusion based. But what he wants is a life of honor, being able to stand his ground without running away and face any problems life may throw at him. That hasn't happened because he was literally a snake oil salesman at Wano and kept running away from Ulti
What got me most perplexed in Wano is when Usopp critizied their warrior culture. It seemed in quite stark contrast to his dream and i wonder if he'll have similar issues with Elbaf, when actually confronted with it
Ussop is always like that because deep down he is always a coward but he also always strive to be brave just like with Ulti and Trebol. He WANTS to be a brave warrior but he is not brave (which is a good struggle for his character) But i get it tho.. 1000+ chapters and he barely had any character development especially after ts. So, if Elbaf doesn't do anything for his character he is gonna have a problem. (Just to add, after ts he does have more confident in himself but he is still rightfully afraid of the higher ranking officers. I think he is just being realistic but i really want to see Water 7 Ussop back in action)
The fact that you've pointed out that Usopp tends to fall into positions of respect from Giants gels surprisingly well with one of my favorite Usopp theories: that he has (but does not realize) or will soon awaken Conqueror's Haki (see also: him lying about using it on Dressrosa and Wano, and having seen Perona and Sugar foam at the mouth during their defeats). If he faces off against Loki, Haki-infused ammo would probably be the way to do it - overcoming Loki's giant power and physique with willpower befitting a true warrior and leader.
I don’t understand why the Conqueror’s haki theory is so controversial. If it’s done in good taste, I don’t see why it’d be bad for him to acquire it. Usopp isn’t a joke.
I think something that is often forgotten about the Sugar/Trebol fight is that Usopp ran away only after Robin got tagged by Sugar. Aside from the fact that he was suddenly the only Straw Hat in the situation as far as he knew, we don't know enough about how Sugar's DF works to tell what impact the erasure of Robin from the world's memory would have retroactively had on his Sogeking arc.
To this day I haven't seen anyone discussing how Yassop is the exact same as Ussop (they're both "cowards"). You can see Yassop, on the chapter or the episode where Shanks was near Wano, shaking and saying he is not ready mentally to meet Ussop, and it sounded ALOT like Ussop's chronic disease of "not going to that Island" before every arc. You can even see Yassop sweating and holding his heart before Shanks decided not to go to Wano, then he breath a sigh of relief 😂. To go back to Ussop, I think he already achieved his dream (sorta) I mean look the Islands they've visited, alot of them had planted a Statue of Ussop (skypia, Dressrosa...) And if that dosen't say "Brave warrior of the sea" I don't know what will. And as you said internet man, Bravery is to feel the fear and to do it anyway.
You missed a huuge point called thriller bark, its there when he decides to be brave for what he can do and "turned off" the sniper king persona, he decides to face the ghost girl for what he gots, what he can do, remind the sanji speach? We do what you can't and you do what we can't. He gets it, he's doing it and accepting that he CAN be brave even being scared all the time
Usopp is either going to get really strong in these coming arcs or he’s achieve his dream for sure. His arc in elbaf is gonna draw a lot of similarities to the story of David and Goliath in which David’s weapon of choice also happens to be a slingshot which he used to defeat a giant
It makes sense on other levels that Usopp ran away on Dressrosa, too. Sugar had just turned Robin into a toy and therefore, Usopp, or any of the Straw Hats, would not remember her. So, Usopp never has any reason to go to Enies Lobby and save Robin, which, in turn, never meets Oimo and Kashi and earns the right to go to Elbalf from them. It makes sense, then, that he never has one of the biggest brave moments before the two year skip and would run away from danger like before.
This is, incredibly (because of the sheer quality of your content), one of your best videos so far. I absolutely love these character personality studies. Keep going, Liam!
It wasn’t until i rewatched recently that you notice Usopps mom last words are that he become a brave man like his father. So really hes just trying to keep that promise 😢
Ussop is so well written inspite of him not getting any development in WCI,Wano or egghead(so far). I like how oda makes so many foil characters to luffy(Blackbeard, buggy, bonney and ussop) with luffy having a childish dream while ussop has a manly one. Ussop's dream will only come true thru self-actualization and i think ussop is on the esteem of hierachy of needs so hes real close to self-actualization
I love Usopp in Stampede and how he protects Luffy against Bullet verbally and physically. It's one of my favorite Usopp moments. Sadly, it's not canon.
Usopp in the movies is what we need more of from him in the main story, him using observation haki with his dad was also a super cool moment in film red, and shows some of his true potential.
What really sold Ussop and his journey to me ironically was Sonny Strait's performance. Ussop feels like Krillin if Krillin got a chance to actually have an arc. He's scared and he's in over his head, but I think what I really enjoy is the banter between him and Luffy. More than any other crewmembers, Luffy and Ussop act like best friends. Boys the same age, enjoying the same goofy stuff. There isn't a huge maturity gap, or personality difference, just two guys being buddies and that really comes out in Sonny's performance, especially post time skip.
Usopp is my favorite character. I know he gets hate for not being a top fighter but his heart and doing what he can with what little he has always made me love him.
I think it takes enormous strength of character to know that you’re considerably weaker than you teammates and still face the same threats they do. But this concept flys over the heads of all these children in the comments. He might not have had his own fight in Wano but the moment where he convinces Kiku and Kinemon to hold on to their lives is amazing imo.
same. I do get very frustrated sometimes seeing the haters and Oda giving him the side character treatment sometimes, but he's always been my favorite for years and that won't change he is a very unique character that represents a normal human in a crew filled with superhumans I love him :)
Since Dorry and Broggy are back on Elbaf, that means they reform the Giant Warrior Pirates allied with Shanks while Hajrudin and his New Giant Warrior Pirates are affiliated with Straw Hats Grand Fleet. Two friendly rival pirate crews from Elbaf.
8:19 I mean a good reason for why he ran was because any memory of Robin was gone. That would include Enis lobby where in the end he learned to step up
All i want is ussop to get really good Observation haki up to an emotional level. Him being the scared one, being able to see fear and bravery in others at the end would be nice.
One Piece has made me tear up on numerous occasions, but when Liam started laying out Usopp's hypothetical sacrifice, followed by Giant army intervention, I think I pictured that so clearly in my mind as a potential scene and I MAYBE had a little tearing up happening. Damn you, man on the internet.
I do hope we get those Usopp moments, but I’m a bit scared… Cause let’s be real, a lot of the crew has been very heavily sidelined for years. And if Franky hasn’t done anything important in freaking EGGHEAD, there’s a very real chance that we’ve already seen the peak of Usopp in the series.
Yeah... Franky's role in Egghead has been very disappointing and I already didn't have high hopes. I just wish we could have seen him geek out together with Vegapunk for a solid page at least where they both recognize each others genius and Franky tells him that he saw Vegapunks home island etc., is that too much to ask for?
Speaking of, Zoro was a little under developed back in Wano. There were so many characters and the arc was so long that there wasn’t really any time for Zoro’s family backstory to fit in.
Imo the issue is that Oda isn't good at handling multiple character plotlines at once. He just wants to get in much for everyone, either making the pacing a mess or stumbling when he notices how much time already passed without anything of the corepoints in the arc happening, then cutting of some edges, giving the feeling that someone got a lackluster story. There should be less splitting up the SH and more teamup moments (like with Oz). Would help to give every SH a moment to shine.
Lets all calm down here with the Franky slander. He is literally staring a Gorosei down in the current story. He is the only obstacle between a game over for Luffy, Sanji, Vegapunk, and Bonney via St Saturn. He also spent an entire night off screen with the Vegapunks. Who know what they cooked up?
I feel like usopps "warrior moment" will be winning a big fight with just a no frills punch in the face.no gags,no gimmick, no sniping, just standing up to whoever and knocking them out.
I think what most people don't see is how much damage Usopp can take and does take in almost every arc. So much so that you could say, if Usopp isn't in full body bandage at the end it's not a real arc. that might not look significant compared to say Luffy or Zorro, but is noteworthy since he normally is not one of those "wow he is a monster of a man that can smash everything" type of characters, he's mainly in the realm of normal human strenght.
That was one of the first things I ever realized about Usopp after Alabasta. He may not be an actual tank like Zoro or Luffy but as a base level human there is no way he can handle half the stuff he endures. Usopp should be dead so many times over, but he never gives up and that is also what makes him great. He’s a terrifying damage sponge. I even recently rewatched Syrup Village and the dude took some pretty bad hits first thing.
@@MousaThe14 Absolutely, also what makes it different is HOW he takes damage. He gets absolutely wrecked, nose broken, bleeding and all. When Zoro or Luffy take hits they just become dirty and covered in little cuts and bruises.
@@ToabyToastbrot Figurative bones comedically shatter with every actually dangerous and crippling impact. Oda wants us to feel how much Usopp hurts in every fight.
Ussop is pretty much the takemitchy of One Piece, gets his ass beat to test his resolve and gains allies while also buying time for his friends to save the day, the only difference is that ussop actually wins some of his battles whether thru trickery or sniping skills
How much hits he’s willing to take remind me of this Taiwanese movie, “Achoo”. Basically, the main dude lives in a world where everyone has superpowers and he’s the few in the population that don’t. Therefore, to impress a girl, he tries to develop a power or some type of strength that might impress her since she has a boyfriend who’s pretty much Superman. So, he meets a retired superhero who makes the protagonist realize that he can take some powerful punches. And the mentor trains him in taking even more powerful punches. Soon enough, he gains notoriety in the boxing ring for being able to not KO. He is extremely hard and difficult to knock out, and his opponents aren’t so satisfied when they win. People start coming to matches to see the protagonist (even if he always loses). And Usopp is that protagonist. But he wins.
Usopp facing Loki and teaching a giant the meaning of honor and the warrior way would be great. And i suspect Usopp will use this lesson himself after Yasopp get's killed before his eyes by Van Auger. With Yasopp being an observation specialist his weak points would be his emotions of seeing his son again. He would be to nervous to see Van Auger's shot resulting in his death. That could be the reason why Yasopp left in the first place maybe he had a vision dying in front of his son and he wanted to protect Usopp from such a cruel fate.
I think one (out there) option for Usopp to be proven a brave warrior of the sea would be him to show even a single flash of conquerors haki. Even if he can barely use it, even if it’s purely to defend against someone else trying to knock him out. Even if all he can do is stand still while trying not to pass out, just one flash would/could mean Usopp believes he’s a brave warrior of the sea.
honestly this theory really fits well, with the loki fight being usopps because it really feels like getting to elbaf is definitely a character arc for him one way or another
I was now reminded that the first time I started watching One Piece 14 years ago was because I saw someone draw post time skip Usopp and I thought it was super cool. I also think Usopp in a way is one of the coolest characters in One Piece, and thus this video is one of your coolest~ Really looking forward to see Usopp's future progress, you suggested some amazing ideas and I wish at least some of them would come true!
I feel Film Red gave us some hints about Usopp's final form, and what the nature of his challenge truly is. I think he has insane CoO same as Yasopp, and that is part of why he is always so afraid. Not that he has future sight yet at least, but he sense everything and all dangers at all times. And when he is able to calm himself and overcome it, he will have OP CoO and be brave idiot of the sea or whatever it is
I just realized but one of Usopp signature attacks is his 'Usopp Hammer/Pound'. So much so that they ended up being his finisher move for a few of his fights. Chu, Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4. And then Perona. With Elbaf Norse theme they have going, I like to believe Usopp is going to gain a Mjolnir like attack/weapon to use in one of his future fights.
A mjolnir that people think is just a fancy hammer, but then he shocks you with electricity or conqueror's haki. Another trickery thing. I also think he could leave the strawhats to be a little captain of a giant crew, but still fly under his flag and maybe even just follow the sunny wherever it goes
One of my favorite theories I’ve seen is that the reason Yassop is so afraid to meet Ussop, is because he believes every single piece of propaganda surrounding his son. After all, from the perspective of an outside Ussop is an absolute Giga Chad
If you look at most fight scenes Ussop is literally almost always the first to shoot the enemy, seriously once I noticed it I couldn't stop Most of the time it don't work but it's the fact he's willing to engage first says alot about his bravery
Speaking of Mjolnir, I made up a theory about the ancient robot in Egg Head Island where Vegapunk stated that it needs the eternal energy for it to operate. Just like how the Mjolnir was forged, it needs the eternal fire and be weilded by the chosen one. I don't know if it needs a person to operate it but if so, maybe one of the Straw Hats or Ussop can do it.
Usopp is the one Straw Hat due for a complete recharacterization upon accomplishing his dream, the transformation that he will undergo as a person I imagine will be huge. I would not mind if we got to see the awakening of the Brave Warrior of the Sea before we reach the final arc, if we are able to see Usopp at his peak in the last battles.
Hi Liam, I plan on cosplaying as Vegapunk Shaka during Comic Con in a couple of months (MEFCC), and I am wondering if you know if an official color scheme has been released for him? I've seen a few floating around but I'm not sure of their authenticity, and I don't know if he will appear in the anime before the event. If no official color scheme has been released, I plan on using the color scheme your artist uses in that shaka art you occasionally use in your video, it's the best color scheme for him I've seen so far.
What if Usopp goes to Elbaf and they hit him with the quote “Bravery is not the absence of fear but the forging ahead despite being afraid” I’d cry 3:08
Honestly if ussop doesn’t get a hammer that can also become multiple tools for him I’ll actually be upset. A hammer, slingshot, and some type of gun minimum anything else just icing in the cake.
I like the theory where ussop doesn’t actually die just the liar whom he would used to be, and he has finally accepted that he is ussop the brave warrior of the sea.
Whatever is Warrior of the Sea Usopp will be, i wanna see Usopp showcasing his Sniping skills more in Elbaf and in the end of the series, be the greatest sniper in the One Piece world
Imagine Usopp actually does start telling the truth from here on out, like having a moment where he shouts to his enemy “I have command of over 2500 giants!” And the giants charge in
If Usopp does get Mjolnir I want the scene to play out like this, Usopp is running and screaming while being chased by an enemy in a forest when he sees a hammer on a rock, he picks up the hammer not knowing it's Mjolnir throws the hammer knocking out the enemy, he breathes a sigh of relief only to then see the hammer flying back at him, he is now back to running and screaming but this time being chased by Mjolnir.
I can imagine the scene where he attack someone with his fake hammer, but it suddenly turns into the real one just before it hit someone (for example because of Nika's power) 😂 and there everyone claimed Usopp hit someone that hard 😅
I don't think Usopp will ever be a strong physical fighter like Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, but I feel he will get upgrades in Elbaf that improves his abilities as a sniper. Stuff like refining his observation haki and potentially learning how to use armament to alter or empower his sniper shots. I've theorized that a big event for him on Elbaf might be him fighting his father. After how his father abandoned him to become one of the greatest snipers in the world Usopp challenges him to a duel to get him back for that abandonment and show how much he's grown. I feel it's been too long since we've seen a Luffy vs Usopp type fight for Usopp where he gets to showcase how his tactical skills can make up for his lack of strength.
The Elbaf vikings are based on Norse mythology. Ergo there needs to be a hammer based weapon. It would make sense that Usopp could use it because he actually shows fear. He is the champion of fear, something most Giants and a few strawhats don't show.
I wonder if instead of the Mjolnir, Ussop gets the Gungnir from Loki, its a spear that never misses and besides Ussop has more in common with Baldr/Baldur than he does with Thor/Jupiter (even tho Gungnir is Odin's weapon)
Usopps dream may also be as simple as gaining the strength to face opponents without fear, which could be seen as him looking up and admiring Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro and wanting to be on their level, it would be beautiful in itd own right and fits his character
I think it would be fitting if Usopp became the commander of the straw hat fleet, Luffy isn't exactly known for coordinating that many people and likely would want someone he trusts, like Usopp to be the one to take the reigns and lead them into battle while luffy rushes to take down Inu
Now that I think about it, isn’t mjolnir(the enchanted version) essentially a trickster weapon, to those who see the hammer will assume it’s not that heavy but when who ever wields it strikes it becomes an insurmountable weapon because if no one can wield it then that also means no one can withstand the force of its strikes making the person who wields it seem strong when in reality it’s just Usopp
I think Ussop will not really get an upgrade strength wise. Rather, I think he'll gain a following of giants that equates to the strength of 8000 men and 'lead' them in battle. I'm also rewatching the series, at Enies Lobby rn, and was talking about a Ussop upgrade and the next day... GLR Ussoo video!! Perfect timing 😊
Usopp is Timon and giants are Pumbaas. It's the classic big guy little guy dynamic built on mutual respect and friendship. The small guy might be a coward, but would NEVER betray the big guy and his other friends. In the end he always comes through. No matter how overwhelming the challenge is. Usopp comes through with a broken nose and body, but achieving what only he can.
With yggdresil being a thing and usopp's current skill set of using plants. I could see him getting a new sniper staff made from a branch, or using seeds.
I get excited thinking that the Strawhats are heading to Elbaf next, then I remember that after Water Seven the Strawhats were heading to Fishman Island. Oda loves his decade long detours.
I think a good idea for an usopp devil fruit would be a mythical Ganesha fruit for his slingshot. In Hinduism Ganesha is the god of good fortune and the remover of obstacles, and if his slingshot had a fate based fruit it would improve his two greatest assets - his luck and accuracy
I do hope Elbaf will be a mix of Wano and Whole cake island in terms of character arc. Sanjis arc had the main focus on his character albut no power up, and Zoro in wano was the complete opposite. It would be nice to see him a development. Not a 180° but something that helps him fight more like a warrior. It would be a shame to see Ussops final battle be another comedic type. What if the giants give Ussop, at the end of Elbaf, their secret treasure which is like Mjörnir? A powerful weapon that works only if you are "worthy". In this case, "worthy" could mean "brave". When Ussop becomes frightened or cowardly, the weapon becomes extremely heavy and useless, but once he get's brave in a fight, this weapon will become unstoppable. You could even make the case that the power of that weapon is equal to the difference between your "fear" you are feeling and the braveness you are acting. This would give an explanation why giants are not using this weapon since they don't fear nor are cowards.
I feel that Ussops greatest lie is his pride of his father, who abandoned him and his ailing mother, that he secretly resents and wait for the day he can challenge him to a duel.
If Ussop gets a power up I think it's gonna be during Egghead, Vegapunk has given devil fruits to weapons before and I think that since Ussop fights with a weapon it would be perfect, His slingshot is already kind of alive being a plant as well so this is a good way to give Ussop a Devil Fruit without making him eat one and lose his ability to swim.
That's what I've been saying for some time for now: That Ussop's "death" is going to be a metaphorical one, that is, a situation arises that Ussop the Coward "dies", only to be reborn as Ussop the Brave Warrior of the Sea (kinda like a Sniper King situation, but not hiding his identity at all this time).
Keeping with the Theming of Usopps Attack names that new attack should be called 'The Star of Elbaf'. Perhaps a Shot from his slingshot that grows from a small size to the size of a massive canon blast.
We’re all thinking it, who is going to be the first straw hat to achieve their dream? -Jinbe (end fish-men discrimination) -Franky (build a ship worthy of the pirate king) -Brook (reunite with Laboon) -Chopper (find a cure for every disease) -Robin (uncover the true history of the world) -Usopp (become one of the bravest warriors of the sea) -Sanji (find the all blue) -Nami (Map the entire world) -Zoro (Become the worlds strongest swordsman) -Luffy (Become the pirate king *True dream is still not confirmed*)
I think Ussop new alias after Elbaf will be "Ussop the Little Giant" leading an army of Giants into the final war (and that way his lie of being the captain of the crew will become true , but this time with a crew of giants
I think when Usopp meets Loki he’ll realize that he doesn’t need raw strength to achieve his dream. Loki in mythology isn’t necessarily strong, but uses deception and trickery as his strength. He’ll become proud of his growth and realize he’s achieved his dream.
There's so much to the hammer theory in my mind. Mjolnir has plenty of "fuzzy" properties due to its magic in Norse mythology - what if it's said to weigh 10,000 pounds (or however much the fake hammer was that Usopp used against Perona) but it's light as a feather to those who are worthy? You could even have a gag where Usopp thinks it's a fake hammer and tosses it casually behind him, only for it to destroy a house or something.
The mjolnir theory actually provides me with so much joy, the concept of Oda's trolling with Usopp hammer could once again turn into the most devious foreshadowing of all time ... that or the copium's kicking in again~ 🥴 Usopp gets so little credit for running during the Dressrosa Trebol encounter, people seem to disregard the fact that the instant Robin became a forgotten toy, Usopp didn't even know how crucial it was to stay and fight, instead of waiting for Franky's support - That being said Dressrosa's stretching out all the episodes didn't help, at least in the Live Action Usopp took down a fishman alone, whereas Sanji and Zoro had to share their fight against Kuroobi 😂
I do love that Usopp’s whole character is meant to not be a brave warrior, lying, small body shape, a snipe who stays in the back. Ever since the reveal of “Loki the prince of elbaph” I though back to the hammer initially used on Chew and then the “10t” hammer used on Ms Merry Christmas and thought yeah Usopp is picking up whatever hammer they have on that island
I think it would be cool to demonstrate him being brave that he would step up to a challenge that even Luffy, Zoro, or Sanji are afraid to go up against.
@@dittosame-o67 Hi, I see you’ve made the one mistake of anyone who is a One Piece fan…In One Piece…Literally anything is possible, Oda has shown us things that no one would’ve ever expected, and it is completely impossible to guess what he’s going to do next. The Straw Hats by all rights should have died back in Enies Lobby, but their ship(an inanimate object) randomly happened to sail directly to them in their time of need and might I remind you that Enies Lobby is directly over a waterfall…so it managed to escape the current of a waterfall…this is after being damaged nearly beyond repair. When Luffy posted 3D2Y…he had no idea where his crew was and no guarantee that ANY of them would either see or understand his cryptic message. One Piece is the literal definition of nothing being impossible.
@@AfroX-StayLegendary I agree 😊. I wasn’t disagreeing with you. What I was trying to say was that Usopp is like Batman because he has villains that he can only defeat, meaning the Monster Trio would have a lot more difficulty in defeating them because it’d require a skill that Usopp naturally hones. I hope he can step up and demonstrate what you expressed.
The first thing we see Uspo do in combat is drop out of a tree, down three of Kuro's agents without blinking or even bothing to aim and charge towards the fight without thinking.
I really hope to see more development of Usopp in the near future. I’d really love to see him actually master his observation haki! Seein him use it for the first time in dressrosa was one of my favourite one piece moments. And I wanna see usopp get another kind of power-up, whatever it’ll be
For him to stand up to Van Auger or his dad, he definitely needs to master observation and grab his own special ability. One I've always liked is the Liars Observation idea, where like shanks he can interfere with people's observation, but instead of just canceling it, he changes it, and makes it "lie" to the user.
I always hated when the fan base said usopp needs a devil fruit or some other instant “powerup” …the whole point of his character is that he’s supposed to be the physically weakest of the crew but makes up for it in his fights with his quick wits and courage.
If Oda wanted to punk everyone he would introduce Elbaf with everyone waving goodbye like Alabasta, implying a off screen escape/visit but then get a flash back of sorts as Usopp(much older) tells the tale to Kaya.
Well we also thought Wano was going to be all about Zorro and egghead island was going to be Franky’s big arc but both were kind of a letdown so my faith in Elbaf being Ussops big one is slim.
But giants go way back for Usopp. If Usopp doesn’t get his moment to shine…that’s mockery! Robbery! At least Zoro and Franky aren’t always getting ridiculed for what they bring to the table. Meanwhile Usopp is getting clowned for practically anything. Sure Wano wasn’t what people wanted for Zoro, but that doesn’t mean he still wasn’t a focus in some areas if not most.
Oda did said that the last battle of OP would be like a giant battle royal so maybe he foreshadow when he said he hope no one would "die" it would make the OP movie with Bullet somehow canon. Bullet fought everyone like in a battle royal on a deserted island he was the one to destroy ussop and nearly killed him maybe that fight scene in the movie could become real just without Bullet.
Something i would want to see happen, is that Usopp accepts death maybe to save another crew member, and then actually dies, no hope of him coming back, for then to a little later in the story Brook maybe "awakens" his devil fruit which could potentially allow him to revive one other person. Its highly unlikely but I think it would be cool, although it doesn't actually do more for Usopp than him accepting death and being saved last second, but it would hit harder for us.
I actually adore the idea that Usopp will gain another title. I personally like “Usopp, the Little Giant”
Shoyo Hinata is somewhere punching air 😂
God >>>>
God usop 🫡
This works.
Thunder God Ussop, savior of Elbaf!
I love that theory so much 😂
This theory is perfection
I LOVE the idea of Usopp facing a Giant!!! Like you say, it could literally be a David & Goliath moment if he managed to defeat them. Would be so insane!
I never thought about that at all!!! Brilliant!!!
@@Govofficial literally perfect! I hope we get to see this fulfilled on some level, even if it is, and maybe even preferabbly, in a unique oda-esque way!
It’ll be crazy if during the laughtale arc, when the Strawhats are fighting Blackbeards crew, Usopp would be the one to fight San Juan Wolf
He did swing a hammer that said 100 tons, and we all know his lies come true! Maybe that's foreshadowing for mjolnir
I mean I'm pretty sure usopp is inspired by a lot of things, A mix of Pinnochio, Aesopps Fables, David in a world full of goliaths
In retrospect I loved the moment from Dressrosa for Ussop. He suddenly felt so much fear after Robin turned into a toy and was forgotten since because she was forgotten he also forgot his reason to go to Enies lobby and become brave. And because of that he made a massive stride in his bravery, like on enies lobby, however this time it was without the mask of Sogeking, as if he finally let sogeking go
Wow I didn't think of Robin being forgotten affected him like that
It do make more sense now
Such a good point.
@@unknownincognito2425 you’re right.
This is a good connection.
Imagine if Loki or Shanks makes fun of Luffy and his dreams, and Ussop, knowing he can't win, knowing he'll get his sh*t wrecked, still challenges him and refuses to back down
❤
Usopp might end up standing his ground against Loki and therefore becoming Elbaphs hero/legendary "giant" warrior.
W
Maybe defending the literal Straw Hat Flag just like he said in Little Garden
revoltionary army elbaf army straw hat grand fleet allies and the truth is an army to ed the world goverment
I’m sorry but I’ll be the guy to say it if usopp does not do anything in elbalf it will solidify him as the worst strawhat. So usopp it’s now or never.
Usopp’s my favorite strawhat and even I know you’re right.
I don't think that'll make him the worst for it. I mean, he's had plenty of development and moments up to this point.
So he is basically a Loki without the powers lol
@@Rykiz_Vidz Quite right. Loki with the dream of becoming Thor someday
Yeah ussop is too far off his dream right especially after wano i hope oda manages to somehow redeem him
What got me most perplexed in Wano is when Usopp critizied their warrior culture. It seemed in quite stark contrast to his dream and i wonder if he'll have similar issues with Elbaf, when actually confronted with it
Ussop is always like that because deep down he is always a coward but he also always strive to be brave just like with Ulti and Trebol. He WANTS to be a brave warrior but he is not brave (which is a good struggle for his character)
But i get it tho..
Omg. I agree with all of this.
I wonder if “bravery” is a specific form of haki that’s known to Elbaf the same way we saw ryuo in Wano.
Yes that would be awesome
David was a shepherd too. Usopp has defended a sheep 😟. Also, David is sometimes referred to as the Warrior King (or King of Warriors?)
Ussop uses plants and Elbaf has that enormous tree. Ussop getting some sort of Ygdrassill based attack would be cool.
I'm enjoying all the quality content Mr GLR, thank you 👍🏽
It wasn’t until i rewatched recently that you notice Usopps mom last words are that he become a brave man like his father.
I definitely understand your sentiments. Same, my friend.
I love Usopp in Stampede and how he protects Luffy against Bullet verbally and physically. It's one of my favorite Usopp moments. Sadly, it's not canon.
I haven't watched that movie yet
Usopp in the movies is what we need more of from him in the main story, him using observation haki with his dad was also a super cool moment in film red, and shows some of his true potential.
@@jeremiahbennett3004 Yeah that was a cool scene too!
@@jeremiahbennett3004 exactly! I agree!
Same 😊
I think it takes enormous strength of character to know that you’re considerably weaker than you teammates and still face the same threats they do.
Yes
8:19 I mean a good reason for why he ran was because any memory of Robin was gone. That would include Enis lobby where in the end he learned to step up
ussop deserves the world man, such an amazing guy
Absolutely!
I've always seen usopps strength not in his physical strength but how clever he is when fighting.
Likely a solid Observation Upgrade paired with a Character growth resulting in overcoming his fears
There were so many characters and the arc was so long that there wasn’t really any time for Zoro’s family backstory to fit in.
frank has been super underwhelming except for his interaction with saturn
Thanks for always putting out videos chief. Helps me while I'm getting work done.
That is definitely believable.
honestly this theory really fits well, with the loki fight being usopps because it really feels like getting to elbaf is definitely a character arc for him one way or another
Ussop is unironically my favorite character, I resonate with his problems so much
I was now reminded that the first time I started watching One Piece 14 years ago was because I saw someone draw post time skip Usopp and I thought it was super cool. I also think Usopp in a way is one of the coolest characters in One Piece, and thus this video is one of your coolest~
Really looking forward to see Usopp's future progress, you suggested some amazing ideas and I wish at least some of them would come true!
I feel Film Red gave us some hints about Usopp's final form, and what the nature of his challenge truly is. I think he has insane CoO same as Yasopp, and that is part of why he is always so afraid. Not that he has future sight yet at least, but he sense everything and all dangers at all times. And when he is able to calm himself and overcome it, he will have OP CoO and be brave idiot of the sea or whatever it is
What’s is coO
Color of Observation Haki
If you look at most fight scenes Ussop is literally almost always the first to shoot the enemy, seriously once I noticed it I couldn't stop
Most of the time it don't work but it's the fact he's willing to engage first says alot about his bravery
0:30 It Doesn't Matter If Everybody Knows he's a Great Warrior of the Sea Until He Believes It It Aint True
It WON'T be usopp. He isn't the chosen one
Damn you! That last joke, Yasopp's reaction to Usopp made me spit my coffee all over the place hahahahahah
I like the theory where ussop doesn’t actually die just the liar whom he would used to be, and he has finally accepted that he is ussop the brave warrior of the sea.
1:10 I thought the silhouette was usopp (long nose and curly hair in a pony tail) for a second 😭
Whatever is Warrior of the Sea Usopp will be, i wanna see Usopp showcasing his Sniping skills more in Elbaf and in the end of the series, be the greatest sniper in the One Piece world
I like this.
I like this, but people will make it more meme than it should be. 😢
Usopp is good at getting people on his side, after all.
Wow. This does stick with Usopp’s goofy vibe. So, would definitely work if done right.
I really hope we DO get to see the entirety of Elbaf Island.
I want to see what giant culture is like there
With yggdresil being a thing and usopp's current skill set of using plants.
I like this! 😂
We’re all thinking it, who is going to be the first straw hat to achieve their dream?
-Jinbe (end fish-men discrimination)
-Franky (build a ship worthy of the pirate king)
-Brook (reunite with Laboon)
-Chopper (find a cure for every disease)
-Robin (uncover the true history of the world)
-Usopp (become one of the bravest warriors of the sea)
-Sanji (find the all blue)
-Nami (Map the entire world)
-Zoro (Become the worlds strongest swordsman)
-Luffy (Become the pirate king *True dream is still not confirmed*)
I would love to see him get the ability of adding haki to the stuff he shoots
Idk if anyone else noticed. But in skypia. Robin watched usopp dodging lighting from "god" and sogakings mask was a sun.
Which episode?
I think Ussop new alias after Elbaf will be "Ussop the Little Giant" leading an army of Giants into the final war (and that way his lie of being the captain of the crew will become true , but this time with a crew of giants
I swear to god if oda doesn’t use this alias for ussop I will be fuming
Literally started tearing up at the scenario of Ussop accepting death causing him to finally to become a true warrior
i feel like usopp wont become a yonko commander but u belive that he will be around the power level of somone like jimbe after elbaf. great vid
I think when Usopp meets Loki he’ll realize that he doesn’t need raw strength to achieve his dream. Loki in mythology isn’t necessarily strong, but uses deception and trickery as his strength. He’ll become proud of his growth and realize he’s achieved his dream.
I don't think Ussop needs a power up. He needs the confidence in himself to do what he has always been capable of
That’s where I am in in all of this.
The mjolnir theory actually provides me with so much joy, the concept of Oda's trolling with Usopp hammer could once again turn into the most devious foreshadowing of all time ... that or the copium's kicking in again~ 🥴
Usopp gets so little credit for running during the Dressrosa Trebol encounter, people seem to disregard the fact that the instant Robin became a forgotten toy, Usopp didn't even know how crucial it was to stay and fight, instead of waiting for Franky's support - That being said Dressrosa's stretching out all the episodes didn't help, at least in the Live Action Usopp took down a fishman alone, whereas Sanji and Zoro had to share their fight against Kuroobi 😂
That’s like Batman. Not every Justice League member can fight Joker and Scarecrow. It just isn’t possible.
@@dittosame-o67 Oh, I’m so sorry, I fully misunderstood you.
@@AfroX-StayLegendary no prob. I understand why you took it that way. I would’ve too 😊
The first thing we see Uspo do in combat is drop out of a tree, down three of Kuro's agents without blinking or even bothing to aim and charge towards the fight without thinking.
One I've always liked is the Liars Observation idea, where like shanks he can interfere with people's observation, but instead of just canceling it, he changes it, and makes it "lie" to the user.
wow david vs Goliath os right up odas alley too. ussop ofc always uses a slingshot as well. fits so perfectly
he way braver than alot of people though thats for sure
Facts.
I think it will be like Usopp vs Luffy. A fight for his believes against an opponent he respects, when it would be easier to give up or run away.
Go D. Ussop is wild
I always hated when the fan base said usopp needs a devil fruit or some other instant “powerup” …the whole point of his character is that he’s supposed to be the physically weakest of the crew but makes up for it in his fights with his quick wits and courage.
It would be so cheap. And feed into the idea that you aren’t a cool character unless you have a devil fruit.
Usopp is the one I can relate the most with 😢😌
Speak for yourself, I don't find him relatable in the slightest
I can relate to him too. I really can. ❤ imposter syndrome is real. Fear is real. Self preservation is real. Telling a lie is real.
@@dittosame-o67 But still trying to overcome the fear is also real 🫂
@@nothingspecial4604 of course 🫂
If Oda wanted to punk everyone he would introduce Elbaf with everyone waving goodbye like Alabasta, implying a off screen escape/visit but then get a flash back of sorts as Usopp(much older) tells the tale to Kaya.
Well we also thought Wano was going to be all about Zorro and egghead island was going to be Franky’s big arc but both were kind of a letdown so my faith in Elbaf being Ussops big one is slim.
bru it was still a lot about zoro man
@@Bobbybats4295bruh no it wasn't bruh, no cap bruh fr fr
But giants go way back for Usopp. If Usopp doesn’t get his moment to shine…that’s mockery! Robbery! At least Zoro and Franky aren’t always getting ridiculed for what they bring to the table. Meanwhile Usopp is getting clowned for practically anything. Sure Wano wasn’t what people wanted for Zoro, but that doesn’t mean he still wasn’t a focus in some areas if not most.
@@Bobbybats4295 that’s what it definitely seems like.
Every time I see an Usopp video I get hyped
