Head. Banged. Damn the drum beat on top really takes this epic track to the next level
listen to thunder force iv, that makes this look like a joke lol
This boss fight in general was pretty terrifying as a kid, but man, THIS SONG.
IT'S SO GOOD!!!
listen to thunder force iv, that makes this look like a joke lol
It's a shame it's a song that's never been officially remastered or had a new rendition made for it at all...
It's absolutely fantastic
This music plus the gigantic boss plus the Mario crying and alarm = permanent anxiety issues
@@isaiahmiranda7609probaly we Will see in Yoshi Islands movie
It still pisses me off that this song isn't in Smash on its own. Only the beginning appears, and it's in the Athletic theme remix that has been since Brawl.
This video rocks though.
Wait, is it not in Ultimate?
@@acbunny no, but the Athletic theme remix that includes this song's beginning is.
one of many of smash's really criminal song omissions, along with masked dedede and galacta knight _(but at least they've been making it up to kirby more with the final boss themes they added in smash 4's dlc and ultimate)_
i'd never say smash has anywhere near a subpar selection of tracks but the decisions they make really are some of those baffling things, don't get me started on shortening songs starting in smash 4 like id purpose, gaur plains and remixes from freaking melee that were fine in the last two games!
@@lovelovemiraclesunsetgirl the most infamous example of shortened songs being the DK Rap, that's why I don't play it in Ultimate at all
@@lovelovemiraclesunsetgirl No Retro Studios Donkey Kong music from Returns or Tropical Freeze always disappointed me. Metroid Prime trilogy only has opening, multiplayer, and first boss music. All songs you can hear in about 5 minutes. I think they just hate Retro Studios music. Dark Samus essentially has 6 different boss themes to choose from, but none made it.
1) Metroid Prime
2) Metroid Prime Essance
3) Dark Samus
4) Escape theme remix
5) Dark Samus Prime 3 version
6) Aurora Unit 313
*7) I forgot Aurora Unit has a second stage theme
Man, Yoshi’s Island is such a *grand* game. It really felt like a happy-go-lucky, yet heroic, long journey. Koji Kondo’s music is pretty much the key component to this atmosphere, and he absolutely smashed it with this outright culmination of a boss theme.
I want a SNES because of this game alone. Thank you emulation, but now I want the real thing. XD
The switch has the SNES pack that includes it as a game and there's SNES controller for the Switch for these games as well. so you don't need to spend like 600 bucks for the SNES and then 1k for an OG yoshi's island cartridge
@@dirktesla7827 600 dollars? Here, 1 dollar costs 5,35 reais. Even so, I easily find SNES for 200, 300 reais. So, if you want to buy an SNES here, it'll be around 50 dollars. I live in Brazil. I didn't think that an SNES there was so expensive.
@@dirktesla7827 The game is costing an average of 500 reais. Which is about $90. I think it's cool how the game is more expensive than the console.
Who’d a thunk the Yoshi’s Island final boss in a roundabout way foreshadowed Bowser’s Fury.
As well as an arts-crafts themed game about paint.
And SMG2, a couple NSMBs, several Yoshi games...Nintendo's been trying to rebottle this lightning for a long time.
I was listening to this yesterday, then i thought "the 8bitdrummer should cover this, i would be amazing"... SO dreams come true and yes it was AMAZING.
This song is what got me into hard rock!!
How hard?
@@generalkaboom6642 harder than hitting the concrete road at full speed because pedestrians are idiots sometimes.
HA! That is awesome!
I saw this in my recommended and my first thought was, hey that’s the song that got me into hard rock and metal. What a coincidence.
Likewise
I think the heavy metal music left an impact on baby bowser.
the pfp makes this even better
Baby Bowser: "I wanna ride dat Yosh!"
Yoshi: "NO!" [slaps BB square face once then proceeds to use parental disciplinary methods]
Nice Terminalmontage callback
I love how hard this goes, in a game with so many "baby" songs. Nice difference to cap off the final boss fight and it goes so well with the imposing apocalyptic game mechanics they throw at the player in the fight. (Thematically I mean... This entire ost is 5\5 stars)
What an OST man. I remember being so intimidated when I finally made it to the end of the game as a kid and that music kicked in. XD
This was my first game I EVER fully beat. I remember hearing this music and thinking “oh! It. Is. On!”
Crazy how rest of the music is just 😃 and this 😈
Heck yeah man! I remember playing this when it first came out, and this boss battle has stuck with me to this day.
As someone who hasn't heard this song before, it kinda sounds like a Mega Man X track.
Almost reminds me of the music when you’re facing light saber sigma.
Reminds me of Doom tbh
MyNewSoundtrack
SNES music was on a whole other level
@@Ravenholm337meh, mega drive was better. with snes is hit or miss, I played A LOT of super mario world over the years but I hate its music, it sounds so compressed and weak and bland idk what the hell is up with smw music. snes mortal kombat sounds inferior. this game also sounds weak but makes it up with interesting compositions
and more
generally I don't like how the snes sounds
this sounds straight out of Megaman Zero holy shit
Nah, MMZ's music style is pretty different even if they share some of the sounds.
I would say Megaman X instead tbh
I like how I never got this far in the game, so instead I associate this song with the final boss in the mod "Doom: The Golden Souls 2" since its used for that.
There's a really old wad for Mario characters in Doom that should have used this.
This song is extremely underrated for sure!!
How is it underrated if everyone loves it?
I'm so happy you did this it's one of my favorite boss themes
Probably the heaviest Yoshi soundtrack to ever be composed. Bless Kōji Kondō
Still one of the greatest final boss themes of my youth. Definitely up there with One Winged Angel and Mitsuda in any of his games.
I definitely didn’t expect it out of a game as cute as Yoshi’s Island.
Kaiju Bowser just hits different.
I can still hear the sound effects of giant baby Bowser roaring and spitting fireballs. And then near the end you have to attack him mid-charge. I'd grown up with 2D games (Atari, Intellivision, NES, Colecovision) and so this battle blew my mind, it was my first taste of 3D gaming in the mid-90s. At the time though I thought maybe it took place after a time skip and not in the past, that baby Mario and Luigi were Mario and Princess Toadstool's kids (since Mario and Luigi came from Brooklyn). Then in Super Mario 64, we find out Princess Toadstool's first name, Peach.
Video game creators will make the goofest concept for a game but give the final boss the most over-the-top hypest theme ever
This final boss song made me realize at 4 years old that I liked metal and rock music!
This goes in, man! Awesome stuff. Had me smiling and jamming the whole time. This game was my childhood and is still one of my top favorites. Haha.
Exactly what a final boss theme should be. An open handed challenge towards the player. "BEEDEEBEEDEE BRING IT THE FUCK ON!"
I love how much fun you're having with this
Why the heck is such a hard hitting boss theme in a yoshi game
The only Yoshi game composed by the legendary Koji Kondo. No wonder it's the best Yoshi OST (not just this song, but all the other ones too).
As such an amazing song,I never thought it could get any better. You have proved me wrong
This goes so fucking hard
I LOVE DRUMS!!!!!!!!
Your energy makes me want to be best friends with you. You have earned your like and sub and I love when people love video game music as much as I do
Mad props dood!
Holy shnikes I did not realize how awesome that song was even though I played SMW2 growing up. Hearing it with your drums was p e r f e c t i o n 👌🏽
what a great drum cover this sounds great!
heavy metal in a mario game i lobe that theme in his day
I love this theme
You have the best video game covers on RUclips!
Nintendo knew what they were doing at the time of making this song
Classic Unmatched By Many Games!
This song also sounds really good with the Plok! soundfont.
i need to hear that!
@@subjekt0345 It's a Silvagunner: ruclips.net/video/eyih77zOU8Q/видео.html
oh dang, i definitely missed out on that one. thanks
I wonder how this would sound on its matching physical instrument counterparts. Can you say Yoshter Metal.
i always pictured elp playing this song with keith going crazy on the moog and organ, carl moving at the speed of light on drums and greg just chilling there on bass
Amazing
Incredible
one of the best themes on this game ^^ (along aside with the 2nd Boss Theme - Naval Piranha)
That's a suspicious amount of vaporeon plushies
what has this man been doin :face_with_raised_eyebrows:
This feels like it would fit well in a pokemon ranger game. Imagine this playing while you fight the final boss of shadows of almia
WE THROWING EGGS AT BABY BOWSER WITH THIS ONE!🔥🔥🔥
B E E G eggs at bby bower
i could never get past this last boss and it pissed me off even to this day as i havent completed it still, but lost the game. forever incomplete ;-;
and sorry about 4 months ago me but this boss theme is awesome and GaMetal did one 3 years ago and the guest may live from New zealand Where i live and i almost pissed myself and i saw a comment of you
that footwork tho
Awesome song, but I somehow got distracted by the pixelated swinging thing in the bottom left hand corner. It totally didn't match the frame rate of the video which was odd.
The bababadoo babadoo at the start kills me 🤣🤣
Is it weird that I was introduced to this song not by Yoshi's Island, but by Mario Forever?
How does this slap as hard as it does?? Where are our scientists???
What a great pick me up! Way to make light of a boring day!
Aww! Thanks for watching!
I know this is supposed to be based off Prog Rock but this is pretty heavy for that genre.
Please this song as the Final Boss Theme in the Mario Movie. XD
This is Metal as all hell.
Instead of Guiles Theme, Yoshi's Island Final Boss Theme goes with everything
So awesome ❤️
This song screams "BRING IT ON BABY DINO!!"
the SNES soundfont is best soundfont
"Got here just in time for the final boss"
The Jack Black of yoshi's island 😂❤🥁🥁🥁
You should point a camera at your bass pedal.
Nice
🔥🔥
Where is the old version of this video? I'm not finding
Please do Gangnam Style - PSY
you sound like toad rurning it
I’m actually it’s 16 bit
Someone in chat thought the onlyfor above the nintendo sign said onlyfans

idk how often you get asked this but, how do you maintain your faith in Christ when things get difficult? i find it really hard to believe in anything and to live through Christ when i’m confronted with so many bad things in my life and others.
anyway this is astounding, knocked it out of the park like always
I do get this question asked a bunch for sure. Bad stuff happens to people and places all around us. Why... I don't know. But my foundation in Christ and wanting to live a life as loving as possible is what helps me walk through those bad times. For myself, It is not about trying to maintain that faith... That faith is all I got at the end of the day and it is the thing that helps me get though those iffy times. I hope that this explanation helps out in whatever way that it can! Keep on rocking! :D
This game was so painful to play
You can do power down from mario madness fnf
