I visited Chawri Bazaar, Chandni Chowk Old Delhi and experienced some of the unique and very different cuisines.
1- Shyam Sweets -112, Raghu Ganj, Manohar Market, Chawri Bazar, Chandni Chowk, Delhi, 110006
This place is known for hot piping Bedmi Pooris but more than that it is known for
Nagori Halwa and Mutter Kachori.
Timing--8am--11pm
Nagori is a small, crispy and crumbly poori made with semolina and ghee, which is served with aloo masala sabzi and kesari sooji halwa. All you have to do is pierce the middle of the poori with your finger (just like you do with a golgappa), stuff it with kesari halwa and then dunk into the spicy gravy and gulp it down for the most unique burst of flavours. This classic savoury- sweet combination of kesari halwa and sooji poori is truly one-of-a-kind. The best part is you can also stuff the nagori puri with masala aloo ki sabzi if you do not prefer sweet things for breakfast.

In the year 1940 Pandit Ramchandra Sharma started with trading of pure milk to the people of Delhi from the most renowned location of chawri bazar Delhi -6, He started with a vision to provide fresh and pure milk to his customers and this vision is still considered to be the core foundation of this organization. In the year 1990, the third generation of Pandit Ramchandra Sharma came forward with an idea to make Flavored Milk without any preservatives so that the goodness of the milk is not lost and succeeded in doing so.
This initiation was taken by Mr. Mukesh Sharma who later on decided to spread this traditional business to another extent and targeting the young mass he came out with an idea of branding his product by the name “YOOF”. This branding had a vision to continue their commitment to provide the people of Delhi with the seven decade tradition of Pure and fresh Milk. After successfully catering the people of central Delhi they are now with a vision to spread their roots to all parts of Delhi NCR in coming years.
3- HiraLal Chaat Corner

Ever heard of Kuliya ki Chaat in Chandni Chowk. Hira Laal Chaat Corner is a famous Chaat wala in Delhi that serves lip-smacking Fruit Chaat in Chandni Chowk. Kuliya or Kulle is fruit and vegetable cups that are scooped out of its flesh and then filled with flavoured stuffing. The Kuliya Chaat is a quintessential street food sold in Old Delhi, for more than 100 years.
Not many, but there are only a handful of Chaat corners across the walled city that sells this prized possession. One such place is Hira Laal Chaat Corner in Gali Lohe Wali, Chawri Bazaar. This place is more than a century old and is well-regarded to serve the most delicious and flavorful Kuliya Ki Chaat in the city.
This wonderful edition of Fruit Chaat is great in taste and has an impeccable flavor. The fruits induces freshness, while tangy Chaat Masala gives it a marvelous flavor. Not to forget, the lemon juice balances the overall sweetness and makes it more delicious. They add boiled Chickepeas and fresh Pomegranate seeds. हमारा ननिहाल होता था फतेहपुरी के गाँधी गली में | गली के बाहर ही कई खाने पीने की दुकाने होती थी | कुछ के नाम याद हैं जैसे मेघराज बिस्कुट वाले, राजू छोले भठूरे आदि | जब गर्मियों की छुट्टियां होती थी तो हम दिल्ली जाते थे और वहीं पे हम सब बच्चे (हम और ममेरे भाई-बहन) अक्सर सुबह सवेरे नानाजी के साथ गली के बाहर एक जगह पर जाते थे | वहां पर सबको एक एक प्लेट हलुवा-मठ्ठी खिलाई जाती थी, वो भी ऐसी ही खस्ता पूडियां होती थी और उनका स्वाद आज भी याद है | 40 साल से ज्यादा पुरानी बात हो गयी, तब एक प्लेट 25 पैसे में आती थी | मुझे तो ये भी याद है कि हमारी प्लेट के पैसे दूकान वाले अंकल जी नहीं लेते थे, क्योंकि वो मम्मी को बेटी जैसा मानते थे |
मुझे बेहद ख़ुशी है कि इस वीडियो से आपको अपने बचपन की यादें ताज़ा हो गई ।

सही सवाल किया आपने कुल्फी में कौन सा मसाला डलता हैं । पुरानी दिल्ली में तो एक ऐसा मशहूर कुल्फी वाला था। कूड़े मल कुल्फी वाले कूचा पाती राम में जिसकी कुल्फी दिल्ली ही नही दिल्ली से बाहर भी जाती थी खास कर बनियों की शादियों में। दूसरे नंबर पर आते थे रामजी लाल । गली कुंडे वालान में । 14:17

Hi! I was in Chandni Chowk from 1986 to 1988. There was a person on Nai Sarak who used to sell excellent kachori with aloo curry. I intend to come there soon to enjoy these flavours again.

ये हलवा नागोरी तोड़ कर नही खाई जाती असल में नगोरी बड़ी बनी हुई है। नागोरी तो वास्तव में सूजी के गोलगप्ये से थोड़ी सी बड़ी होती है और जैसे गोलगप्पे में पानी भर के साबुत खाते हैं वैसे ही नागोरी में हलवा भर के खाते हैं तभी असली स्वाद आता है।
It's a very famous & old shop as Bar Sabu la Chowk, it a locality of Saxena & Mathur Kayastha's families residing there from Mugal Era period. Now all families shifted to Posh areas of NCR Delhi & foreign Countries . So many families i personally known.
But
Sinha sahab very rightly said, people may go out of Old Delhi but you cant take out Old Delhi from those people, it will always attract like magnet be in the form of food or culture and traditional values 🙏🏻

So I usually go when they just about to start and then crowd follows. Rest taste will always be subjective depending upon person to person. But i feel in hard core street food, hygiene and health will always be concerning factors . Aur ye drama part jo hai , pata nahin kisi ki kya majboori hoti hai , sabhi ki rozi roti chalni chahiye !!!!
