The lycanthropic space marines are not just a tightly-knit pack but also a densely-arranged brotherhood. Clap for the wolfman! Russ, the so-called barbarian brother primarch built the frame of order and organization this legion so desperately needed. The facet of humanity they embodied through their geneseed, run rampant. It befits their strongest aspect and I like that the Space Wolves divided themselves into actual warbands, for more-personal hunting. I see a very common theme running through all thirteen Great Companies' shield heraldry - haha, every one, just a wolf! Seriously though, I like the Horns of Winter both for choice of name and that name's Norse mythology implications correlating with Destroyers. Mastery of individual will over primal passions, yet as a whole, to instead provide a new level of understandng to the literal meaning of “shock” troops. And of course really carrying through that angle of “space vikings” in general, no matter the historic nation or at least most popularized aspects. The Emperor's dog super soldiers are more intricately structured than the superficial, dismissive impression of an outsider might presume. It sounds like the VIth have a lot more segmentalization of forces to detail so I'll look forward to listening to those. This was fun and informative, as usual, GDN. 'Til the next howl at the moon, I wish you a wildly-satisfying nad healthy next week. The Emperor protects.
💙 Imagine: powerful Chosen of Tzeentch always at war (with the Lord of Change Tchzen of the Silver Claw at their side)! Who with their mighty fire serve the God of Magic in the pure way, with victory in battle. So do his Sorcerers, who teach battle to the zealous Warriors of the Architect of Fate. With war they bring eternal change for Tzeentch! Tzeentch must look like Norsca, and there are several Champions who prove it: Tchar'zanek, Aekold Helbrass, Albodi, Melekh the Changer. "My name? Long ago such worthless details fell from memory. I know only the lust for glorious battle -- for blood, for victory! I seek only the Eye of Tzeentch -- his favour, his grace, his Dark Gifts -- that through them, I may be remade -- reborn! Why do we raid your lands? Why do we burn your homes? Why do we flay your flesh? To serve the Lord of Change and his magnificent designs." Do you know what the Screamers of Tzeentch must look like? Long tail but raven wings and beak, without claws however because being creatures of change they must always fly and never stop. And since purple, pink, and gold (Slaanesh) are aspects that simply don't go well with Tzeentch, then blue, azure, and silver are his only true aspects. I like to imagine (even before the Heresy) Magnus and the Thousand Sons with the symbol of the Egyptian Raven (let's eliminate the symbol of the Egyptian Scarab, it is an insult to Tzeentch). 🔵
Oh boy that space Marine at 7:36 looks like wolverine plus I like how they call their individual great company, wolfen packs Because it reminds me of the 80's movie wolfen that has wolf's wandering around New York Russ would love those wolves." 🐺👍
Wolfen, with Albert Finney in the lead role, among other recognizable actors. I rewatched that movie last year, don. It's different, I like it. And I'm fascinated by that era and condition of "urban decay" New York City. Intriguing to look at from a distance, sure...but I wouldn't have REALLY wanted to visit there; not then. Yeah, I think those wolf spirit boys would've related to Russ' feral legionnaires.
Hmmm, I hadn't previously thought about the terran space wolves err... Don't they cause a problem for the apparently fenris specific nature of the geneseed or is this one of those handwaves of the geneseed degenerated after the heresy (including the stores on Terra)...

Oh boy Mike Space wolves also remind me of Mario van Peebles

I wish they had actually drawn heraldry for each Great Company. I would've shown all of them.

They slowly died out due to age and combat. The last one alive became the First "Long Fang."
Might be. This lore is actually kinda old.
For the Wolf Time!!!
1st to 1st, 1st to like, 1st to watch
