I hope so too, I didn't check his nico nico account but in his (much less active) RUclips account his last song was uploaded 5 years ago.
I don't know how accurate the uploading time is but in his auto generated RUclips music creator account a self cover was uploaded 3 years ago but in the description it's listed as released on 2013.

I don’t think back then gumi was considered one of the major vocaloids. If memory serves, she was a bit more niche when I was more into vocaloid. I didn’t even know she was considered part of the main vocaloid gang until I read this comment.

This was the first song I ever listened to that featured Gakupo. He’s now my favorite voice.

"Lulilu Lilala" reminds me of mothy's Clockwork Lullaby songs ("Lu li la, lu li la"). It's most likely a coincidence, but I'd love to see people try and make a connection.
