- Walgreens, one of America's largest pharmacy chains, announced early Thursday plans to close numerous stores across the U.S. as it embarks on a "significant multiyear footprint optimization program to close certain underperforming" locations.

They had too many locations to begin with, failed experiment. At one point, they were on every corner.
So 25% of the stores still want to keep those high prices. Walgreens and CVS have always been more expensive, im surprised they have lasted this long.
Walgreen bought up all the Duane Reade pharmacies in NYC. Now they're closing. It's corporate greed. We miss out Duane Reade pharmacies.

I live down the street from walgreens and I brought my sister lisa stomach meds and ice cream for her and I and I brought jelly beans for me and I don't want them to close down.
Things must be pretty bad when they close Walgreens.
Taxes are very high, in states it is allowed to take it without paying up to $950. That's why it's closing, what's happening is horrible. 🥹

In the neighborhoods that can afford and have the resources that can get somewhere else, like they are already doing. Convenience is the new Cash, why do more when you can have it hand delivered to you, and in the same day too. Why shop and browse when I can just speak out loud what I want and "the machine" (as my Grandpa calls it) brings it to me. You don't have to waste gas, put wear and tear on your car, deal with lines, or people's pets.

@@Gone_huntinggand he made the 25% of stores not listen to Walgreens, the way people don't listen. It's funny how Arizona Ice tea didn't have an inflation problem, then stores like those 25% that didn't want to listen mysteriously stopped selling their product.
