- It only took about 3 1/2 years of buying off of Ebay and Craigslist to accumulate this many viewers. Before the internet it would have taken 20 years or more to do this. I live about 10 miles from where the View-Master plant used to be in Beaverton, Oregon.
This is an amazing collection. I love and collect View-Master and photo reels since I received one from my grandfather.

I have a beautiful collection, but NOTHING like this!
I just purchased my first talking viewmaster tonight, but it's a Gaf... My first was a red model G but then inherited one that belonged to my grandmother. It's a dark beige Sawyer's. Not sure if it was made in OR or Belgium, but it's got a metal lever. Gorgeous little thing. Been through a loooot of children and grandchildren.

How did you get inspired to collect the viewers?
(We helped with the shooting of one of the reel sets in early 1980, which seems long ago, but, relative to the history of VM is recent history.)

me back to my childhood. Now I would like to purchase an original viewmaster. Because I was so young,
I can't remember if it was the beige or red one. I want to lean towards the beige one. I know it was the Model G.
What year were these two colors available? It would have to been between 1968 to 1972.
You're missing one of the rarest, which is a blue clamshell. I'm currently hunting for one.

is one kind the best one ? like more viewing screen , or better picture quality??
Audio P The really colorful ones on the right side of the table, that have an oval in the front and he said look like they're from space, are great because they have a magnifying factor so you see the image as much larger than previous viewers allowed. They also are balanced so that if you lay down, they'll rest on your face and you don't have to hold them, which is nice, I think. When you've got a lot of reels to go through, your arm can get tired.
The flat-faced View Master "Classics" also magnify, but at the cost of some distortion to the photos. Wouldn't recommend. They're what you find for sale "new" now. Really similar in shape to the 80s style, and they usually come in red.

SOHAIL KHAN I own one to this day. I got it as a prize though (but I can’t find it now. I enjoyed it so much when I still used it). Hopefully, I can find it again and use it more often
