Cater was not the previous housewarden, as confirmed by Leona, who says he only met the previous housewarden once before Riddle took over the position.
for me I didn't know it was a theory in JP until a bit later when I realized it for my self when I read the mobile english version. I told my friend who was in the fandom at the time about what I thought, but shot it down saying. "Cater is in X year, and the ex Dorm head was in X year. No way it's Cater." So that bummed me out so badly with how they said it, that I never did more lookin into it. But I realized this. If the third thing of why cater's dream is like that, being, "I am the reason everything runs so smoothly in this dorm. Not Riddle, Not Trey. ME." I will laugh so hard, because I believe that to be true as well. XD
Not to call your friend out but as far as I know, they've never said what year the old housewarden was in. But yeah going with your suggestion for the third thing that would be funny (and it absolutely is lowkey kind of true). I mean I love Trey but Cater is absolutely the heart of the peeps in charge.
@@princessmacarons9347 honestly I do think it was a EN thing, but I need to read JPs and ENs it to be sure. but if true, then EN has to stop messing up Cater's diolog/context for real. -_- Cater is the heart of the dorm i agree, but I do hope he used to be the dorm head, cause reminder. In one of the chapters I think it was Crowley who said that dorm heads can design there dorm uniforms and the head can design his uniform as well. which explains why Riddle's and Cater's are so different. Lastly I find it so funny that Cater has a lot of references to the king of heart I never noticed before, and the thrown in both Cater's head dorm card, and Riddle's dorm cared is the same as the thrown in The queen of hearts's from the animated Alice in wonderland movie. Plus both used the gavels as well.
Just wanted to point out that a lot of people have speculated Cater could be partially twisted from the King of Hearts!! He’s kinda forgettable in the movie compared to his Queen counterpart, but that’s kinda the point lol. If he is indeed twisted from the king of hearts, that could bode pretty well for the theory. The king of hearts is kind of like a figurehead, where the queen does all the real ruling. He’s basically a big pushover. And he’s quite relaxed with the rules, I’d say.. 👀 (also their both red heads LOL)
Actually, Housewardens can design their own uniforms. I don't remember any comparison between Riddle's & the previous Housewarden's, but it was mentioned in 2 vignettes that Riddle's uniform resembles the 1st Housewarden's. Assuming the theory is true, that could be Cater's Housewarden uniform. Also, I didn't notice the card background before you pointed it out! That does make the theory more convincing...!
Honestly I am with it !! TBH it's double angst for Cater here which I am fond of 💜✨ I have also seen Cater might be the old vice Housewarden instead which makes sense too! Anyway thanks for your hardwork!! Now to wait for the result!! 💜✨

Both in general, I love Cater, and because when I got into Twisted Wonderland, I was first introduced to the concept of this theory through an ask Ras at Mystery Shop Translations received, and from there would see it come up (at least just the title of it), and I was under the impression that it must be amongst one of those theories that is floating around the fandom without a specific origin. Thinking about it myself earlier this year, I was noticing some oddities about it that had me going, Hmm, I don’t know.” And I am definitely curious to hear your thoughts and evidence about this theory! :D When I was thinking about Trey or Cater getting the Book 7 card, I was considering Cater’s being based off of this theory for the heck of it that seeing it actually be that was honestly surreal. I am curious how the game is going to address this if that is what Cater’s dream is centering around.
Wait, THANK YOU for bringing up how Cater has a bit of a leadership role because legitimately I regard him as Heartslabyul third in command/the Vice-Vice Housewarden/Trey's Vice Housewarden. It honestly feels like the three of them running the dorm rather than just the two (Riddle and Trey). There are also a fair amount of illustrations depicting the three of them together. I also really love how you brought up the Cater-Cinderella theory and tied it into this one! It made sense, what you said, and I was like, "Holy cow, that is also a fair point." I completely agree, having this theory be confirmed or denied is SO EXCITING!!! You do not know just how much I am eagerly anticipating this main story update. (I also have been waiting for it for so long, too.) Also, I had a similar train of thought: we don't know who the past Housewarden is, if he graduated already, is in his third or fourth year, etc. Any of those could be true. Anyways, than you again for the upload and covering this theory, as well as finding who originally came up with it! I was surprised to see that it does have a origin/someone originally made a post for it! Also, I do agree that Trick King Cater is hard to say, and almost sounds like you are saying "Tricking," as well if you aren't careful enough

It’s good to see some content on Cater theories! I haven’t actually heard this one before so I was super excited the entire time while learning about it. I love your addition of the Cinderella theory because that was the first ever TWST theory I was ever introduced to and tbh I buy it 😂 that is a really interesting connection for sure. All in all I think there’s not enough info on Cater to be sure and it might just be a coincidence (one of the slightly more underused characters I think, though that might just be my bias) but this was a pretty convincing analysis. Yeah like Cater is so underused it's honestly a shame, he's such a good character. I'm hoping the update will do him justice. And yeah while this update is making me more believe it, if I does get confirmed I will be a bit :/ because I don't think there's been enough build up to that reveal. Twists are good and all but I'd think some more foreshadowing would do wonders, you know what I mean?
I remember (in the manga atleast tho) you can become housewarden by dueling the current housewarden (at least this works for heartslabyul) and that's what Ace did with Riddle before he overblotted so leadership isn't required for the position of dorm leader
I honestly don't see Cater being Twisted or the Reincarnation, as i prefer to think of the characters, of Cinderella. Granted there are definitely some Cinderella themes in his backstory just as much as there are Ariel themes in the Octavinelle trio. I think its just there to flesh him out as a character and he is just the reincarnation of a standard Four of Diamonds Card Soldier from the Animated Alice in Wonderland. Until we get a Cater goes home event we won't know for sure if the Cinderella themes were added intentionally or if its just coincidental. It's like how Deuce is the Reincarnation of a Two of Spades Card Soldier but has quirks of the White Rabbit in his personality with his passion for running and yearning to better himself as a person. I like to think his mom, Dila (i refuse to use the EN server names and spelling) is the real reincarnation of the White Rabbit and Deuce just inherited those traits from her. I do subscribe to the theory that Cay-Cay was the former Housewarden of Heartslabyul though. And kinda feel bad as if it is true than he had the shortest run as Housewarden given that until Riddle came along, second years are the youngest that students can be as nominees for Housewarden. With Riddle being a first year the year prior and Cater being a second year, i can only imagine it took a week and great patience on pre-Overblot Riddle at most before Riddle forcefully took over as Housewarden.
Granted I stick to EN and don't pay too much attention to JP stuff so I might have this wrong, but didn't Trey's Platinum Jacket vignette confirm Cater wasn't the previous housewarden?
I don't have the card so I'm just going off of translations, but it's unclear. Cater and Trey as freshmen get in trouble with the Housewarden, but it doesn't say if that same guy was the Housewarden again the next year or if someone else took over. So we don't know if that was the Housewarden Riddle took the position from or not.
