Bobby was killing the vocals for this one.
Bobby had serious vocal talent when he was younger. It gets overlooked often. Great pitch control
Bobby said this the only song he leads let em do his thang😂😂😂😂😂
Right lol😂😂😂
Sorry, but Bobby had every right. LOL He was holding it down.
Facts he was singing that shit lol🔥🔥🔥
Facts‼️
You're welcome Lisa!!! :)
💌
Bob even hogging up the show in rehearsal...🤣🤣🤣
@@SILKTEEN46 i was honestly just joking. Bob has always given NE that edge and excited it needed.
@@SILKTEEN46 makes sense to me
He was doing the Most. Mike qued the band to cut at the end
@@smithsterling98 Yes he was. Rickey had to do that another time and it was a whole fight, back stage, during the performance.
Their behind the music episode was intense LMAOOO Bobby was wild for a teenager
Bobby won’t be denied Brown 😅😅😅
Bob was holding his song down like he had the right to! Yep battle at the end shows how things went down. He had ONE song! That's his right to rock it! Great choreography too!
Allow me to piss everybody off here . . . Bobby had the best voice of the original 5. He could emote in mid range and upper range with no deterioration
of his voice. There is a concert of him in Japan when he broke out as a solo artist. View that and you will be convinced that he needed to leave New Edition to fly.
He had jealous girl too and You don’t have to worry. So he song lead on 3 New Edition songs
@@danielnelson6903he has more than that. but at this time just this and jealous girl for the most part
@@wiltisdabest Name more New Edition songs where Bob song lead then…
@@danielnelson6903 Home Again, Try Again, Count Me Out, Hit Ne off. He has lead vocals on all those. He has lead vocals on half of the Home Again.
Bobby Brown stood out!Charisma and Go get attitude! The other members are just as talented too but Bobby showed out!!🎶🎶👀👀🎵🩷🩷😎
Bobby was more talented than the rest of them. They couldn't touch his showmanship.
Bobby pretty much only had this song to shine on at the time, and that he did. even though all three singers have leads on this.
This is The BEST Performance of this Song I ever Heard . . . I see why they said BOBBY BROWN was doing a lot at the End of the song But he was CLOWNING (really good) . . . He got to have the Last Word, Especially on this Song !
3:04 to 3:09 Sang Bobby, do that 'Frankie Beverly note'!
They put in some WORK on this rehearsal 🥁🎹🎸🎤 !
As the members of N.E. have often said...Starting out ; they didn't have "just one lead singer." They all had their chance to shine !
Bob was definitely showing that he could hang with Ralph on this one 😉!
Funny though, Ralph couldn’t hit that last note of the first verse (on meeeee), so they let Bobby sing it. It was that way on the album too, but in the video, they allowed Ralph to lip sync over that part to appear seamless.
it was Ricky Bell
@@lavelllucas watch the video closer. Bobby is in the red pants. When he goes (on meeee) Ricky is still dancing in the background. Plus their voices are distinctly different.
No the punched in the recording vocals on meeee if you watch earlier when ralph is singing that part he pulls away from the microphone. Also ralph sang that line in the original recording, he still had his boy soprano in 1984, just listen to cool it now from the same album… he could reach that note in 84 but this rehearsal is from 85.
Bobby was clearly the better singer. Bobby could actually hit all his notes. U hear Ralph l he sounds out of breath live.
@stanleyholmes7155 in no universe is Bobby Brown a better singer and I'm a huge fan
We need the footage from Bobby's performance of the song that lasted 20 mins and got him kicked out of the group 😂
Brook Payne has been having them looking great with the choreography for 40 years 👏🏾👏🏾. Bobby Bobby Bobby 🤦🏾♀️😂😂😂
Damn Bobby killed this performance! I just watched it for the first time and was not expecting him to go off at the end, lol. He had that star quality from the jump.
Right he did 🎤🎼🎶🎵
Lmao you don’t even see Bobby and he was READY ON POINT LOL. 00:26
3:05 I love Bobby’s note
Me too🎼🎵🎶🎤
Bobby MFin Brown 💯💯💯
Bobby had so much star quality even back then, it’s clear the group was holding him back from what he could really do!
Mike was over it at towards the end😂
This would have been even more dope if this song was this tempo!
Bobby was just a great singer as Ralph back in the day
Yeah, but Ricky Bell was the one that was slept on.
I agree with both.
@@CleanMusicLover229 Ricky Bell held his own.
@@CleanMusicLover229yup I’m so glad Rickey got his time to shine with bbd
He was better than Ralph. Mike confirmed that "Hang up on Meee" part was actually Bobby because Ralph couldn't hit that note when they recorded the song
So we all just gone ignore Shabba Doo killn it on the drums!!! 👀
LOL, that’s Daniel Donnelly, better known as “Zoro”
GET IT BOBBY
Wow im surprised bobby didn’t get more prominent leads considering how he performed here.
That's why he went solo
One of NE's producers was impressed with bobbys energy and showmanship and wanted to give him more leads, but the label felt bobby was too unpredictable so he was told to only focus on Ralph...
Well he did eventually go solo.🙄
@@StubbornMook Bobby later admitted that he was an alcoholic at age 15, so yeah he was problematic and unreliable.
0:34 Michael influence in the 80's
The fact that Mike kept trying to signal the band to end it cracked me up!!
“Ain’t nobody come to see you Otis!”😂😂
I just noticed that lmao and I watch this video A LOT! I just watch Bobby lol
2:37 Mike holding down the bottom register 👌🏾👌🏾
Right!!
Mike and Ronnie can't sing lick. Lol
@@mikekillagreen9432yeah they can , search up them singing the national anthem , they just aren’t lead singers but good background vocals
@godusopp2752 Not true! Ricky sang back up too on their album and they brought in singers to sing back up on the entire BBD album. Also with New Edition Ralph would song the back up parts too. Only Ricky and later Johnny could help with BG vocals.
Ronnie and Mike are flat 😅
Bobby showing out as usual🤦😆
I see they wasn’t lying in that movie 😂
Bob had to go full throttle in this song because it was his chance to show HE was one.
But who was the shirtless Caucasian homie tho????
He was the monitor engineer. I was the front of house engineer, another even more Caucasian homie...😁😁😁😁😁
@@michaelberg9656 : Wow... What was that guy's name and who was the production manager?
@@ctsmooth1Hi Carl His name is Brendan. Production manager Jeff, lighting designer Pops, front of house guy (me) Mick. You guys were one funky band, I enjoyed working with you.
If you look the drummer was with Bobby on My Perrogative video
Yea he left when they kicked bobby out
Zorro is his nane
Yes, I remember
Yep
@@smithsterling98 Actually it was Johnny 😁😁Other band members, Louis, guitar, Karl and John, keyboards, Tony, bass and bass keyboard. I don't remember the conga player.
I fu!king weak @ 2:54
Ralph said wrapped the sh!t up😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
jealousy
@@babygnome215 Bobby dragged that song out now c’mon!! 🥴🥴😂
@@babygnome215I doubt it, more like they wanted to go home lol
One of my favorite songs by New Edition in excellent song writing skills from Mr Ghostbuster himself Mr Ray Parker Jr🎶👏🏽🎼🎶🎶🎹
Yes
@@shivery3821 right on✊🏽
melody similiar to Ray's other song A woman needs love
@@earlsmith2524 you absolutely right Ray Parker Jr had a sound of his own and believe it or not I can say he is one of a few artists who record songs on a budget a homemade Studio in his house with just a tape recorder
You right Mr Ray Parker Jr was on a shoe string budget right from his home meaning he cut the middleman out he was a musician he wrote his own songs and produced them and made lots of money and even brought his own jet to get him around some of the gigs he is a very smart man I'm on a shoestring budget why it's not working for me 😁
So nobody saw Bobby catch the mic at 1:21? Just me? Ok
And he didn't miss a step!!!!! He's always been a performer
you had to be a kid in the 80's to understand/get this. 12-19 and that's Zorro on the drums/he's a legend in the business. he became Bobby's drummer when Bobby went solo.
Zorro also played drums for lenny kravitz back in 1989 for his debut tour and performances.
I highly agree with you!!!! I always loved all musicians who played their part for the album.
Goat Bobby Brown
Bobby was Dangerous!!
Mr. Telephone man is Bobby SONG 😅. When that song come on you just gotta give Bobby the mic and let him be. 😅😅 What's Bobby B signature song? Not roni, not every little step .MR TELEPHONE MAN 🤌🏾🤣
@@Mone333Williams facts, Bobby definitely made Mr. Telephone man his own. I love that song‼️
Ricky is still my favorite of the group. He’s so sexy and handsome. I love when he sings. I had the chance to meet him when they came to florida and told him how cute he is and he smiled and gave me and my girlfriends a hug.
Aging swept away all that from Bobby? It's the most dangerous disease.
Dat drummer def got cut😂😂😂
Let’s give up ⬆️ for the band 🥁🎹🎸
N.E. never disappoints! Love the rehearsal. Where was Ronnie?
He was sick
Getting his tonsils removed

Yo Ron where U at
Had his tonsils removed.
There the Greatest!!!
That is how you sing lead! Good leaders know how to sing on top of the song but not hog it. Phillipe Wynne was a master at it. So is Gladys Knight!
Bobby Showing out.. The only one to go solo and blow.. And I’m not being funny 😂.
I love Bobby Brown ❤
Bobby a fool 😂😂😂
it sounded like 100 Michael Jacksons in one song 😂 i love it tho
I believe Ron had his tonsils removed around this time.
Sounds different w/o him. His voice makes a difference
You are kidding right. Ron makes a difference in choreography and maybe raps but I'm sure he isn't missed on the vocals.....😂😂😂
I don't care what anyone says Bobby Brown use to sang his ass off.
Again, I can’t believe they harmonized better as kids than they do now.
mike let the man sang dude😂
Lead singer is a Taurus we da best
I love!! this song. Been a fan of New Edition for many years. These guys still look great!!!
a junior tucker original

Bobby was meant to be a solo artist!

He wasn’t in the group until later
@@Rells26he was in the group during this era wdym😭?

Ralph was the best vocalist
Ricky, Johnny, Bobby, Ralph are.
When they sang the backgrounds live. They were great. Now they lip sync to a track.
