it is a great starter plane if you start with using the Vector system in Stability mode.
Awesome flying in that wind, she's such a good plane...jeff.
She really is, one of my "GO TO" planes.
Very impressive flying of a decent plane.
Thanks so much!!
Nerd comment: Wind is actually two very different issues. One is wind speed, you just need a decent cruising speed to combat that. The other one is turbulence, you want a high wing loading to combat that. At RC altitudes, turbulence is usually a function of obstacles at ground level, like buildings or trees. If your field is clean of those, as yours seems to be, you can get by with a low wing loading airframe like the Bigfoot in high winds. If you do have turbulence, you definitely want a higher wing loading to fight winds. That's why multirotors do OK in adverse weather. Their prop blade loading is pretty high. Thanks for the useful demos, and happy flying!
Thanks for this info and taking to time to type it out. You info also explains why my jets do ok in the wind since they are heavier and faster.
I always check the forecast before I decide what models to take to the field, but I do like to bring a UMX or two for ventures far out of my comfort zone without risking too much repair work!
sold out dang
Actually I paid full price for this Bigfoot like everybody else. Hobbyzone contacted me asked me to be an affiliate I did not ask them. I made it clear to them that I only give honest straight forward reviews. Since then HobbyZone has started to ask me to review planes that they give me for free. I have gotten 5 so far and in each review I start with telling the viewer that HobbyZone sent this to me for review. Please understand, nothing will change in how I review these planes.
nooooooo i didnt mean you i meant the plane was sold out@@FatGuyFliesRC
@@rayemigh3776 LOL it is all good, in fact I am actually anticipating people accusing my of selling out. I appreciate you not implying that. As far as the plane being sold out it has been for a while and it is very popular so they gotta get some in soon. Trust me if it is a plane that sells good they will keep stocking it.
I swapped those hard wheels out for xfly Tasman wheels but not tried them out yet but those xfly wheels are so soft we got wind like this in uk today but that plane does handle good though salute 🫡 Gazza 🇬🇧
Thanks for sharing!
Great flying greg, she flies really well, I love my bigfoot, that landing where she hovvered onto the runway was a perfect s.t.o.l landing, well flown...jeff.
