It’s not like I hate it, but I still can’t see a point of teasing a relationship between the 2 for around 3 seasons long, just for them to kinda ditch it completely?
Tbh I’m not homophobic or anything but I feel like the relationship between Frenchie and Collin came out of nowhere if you get what I mean I feel like it should of been built up for a couple episodes.I still kinda wish he got with Kumiko
I’m on the same boat. I always knew Frenchie was Bi, but him and Kimiko through the rest of the show built such a great, cute relationship just for it to be taken away recently out of nowhere by this random Colin guy who we have never seen before. I get they want to push the gay agenda but they destroyed a cute potential relationship, put in more unnecessary plot lines, and made the writing even more shitty. I will never forgive The Boys for this 😤 (Also sorry for this long ass essay, I’m just really disappointed lol)
I think ur way off with the homelander wanting to take his sons body or sum like that, I think he’s genuinely trying to have a connection with his son, because he sees his son as an extension of himself and someone that can actually love him, and whenever there’s signs of Ryan not loving him or wanting to be like his father, homelander gets mad because it’s gonna show him that he truly is alone
Kamiko and Frenchi, they doing the same storylines, kamiko dealt with her past on season 2 and 3, Frenchi dealt with lamplighter and addiction, they had one job, to explore the relationship being official, I think it was a huge mistake. Also Butcher they repeating the “will he do something bad, or he won’t” they making his decisions repetitive, the issue with this season is simply stalling for season 5, it’s so wrong when you don’t follow where the character wants to take you, get conered, and then simply use the character however you wish
I lean more liberal but the show’s bias against republicans is just way too cringe. The last 3 seasons handled it correctly in a clever way. Season 4 is just laughable. It’s like watching an SNL skit 💀
like in season 2 when they were making fun of corporate liberalism to exploit characters like Maeve despite the elites not being supportive at all. Or them making fun of "Girls Get It Done" only to have girls getting it done against n@zi Stormfront who pushed Homelander to push an extreme movement. Or that fan who kept listening to Stormfront and ended up attacking a clerk. This is like 5 years ago man... And that's not even getting into season 3 or the anti-capitalism & American imperialism themes set up in season 1.
I need people to remember that the comic is so much worse than the show both in story and in imagery. The complaints are interesting because people always say “well that’s not realistic”, but when they get something painfully accurate to real life mindsets, they get mad.
This season feels super rushed right now in both direction and writing. I like all the plot points but wish they would have done a few more passes on the script and given the directors more time to do re shoots. Some really high stacks emotional scenes felt so flat. Huey's mom, Kimiko's backstory and Frenchie's arc are all moving so fast I am not feeling as connected to the characters. Hope mid/later season episodes right the ship.
@@mrblump Oh for sure. The pacing is definitely off. I think it could be a similar situation to Walking Dead where they announce that the final season is approaching and now they're trying to fly through plot points to get to some sort of resolution. I'm hoping it isn't as drastic as that though.
So far I’m liking s4, black noir talking in this season caught me off guard since I’m used to the character being silent, and it was insane that homelander tried to get the deep to blow A-train despite it happening in the first episode
I don't even care what people think I'm digging this show, season 4 ep 1 showed so much in just that episode ep 2 ep 3 carried it away with the story and im loving it
I wouldn't be surprised if soldier boy teams up with butcher and when the two fight homelander he blows up killing butcher and takeing homelanders power away and becomes the main villain for the rest of the season
I think what makes a gay character in a movie or show is good writing give the character personality other than just a soulless stereotype that's supposed to be representing that gose with any others like woman or black people.

homelander actually wanting to take ryans body instead of wanting him to love him is so stupid and if it is true then that would top 10 worst plot twists of all time
Don't mind any of the plot points of the show but the direction seems rushed and flat and the script could have go through re writes its really clunky. Hoping the ship rights itself later in the season.
Ok so far, slow start in the 3 episodes, would’ve also liked if they didn’t just throw out the kimiko and frenchie build up for what they went with now. Hoping things pick up more by next week
Chris I do believe Homelander is more so trying to turn Ryan into a 1:1 copy of himself so that he has an exact clone that he can always bond with if not he is likely motivated to making him a successor or something
So many so-called “fans” of this series are saying it got too political. It was political from episode one. Not the greatest season opener in the boys, but overall solid. The show is far from ruined, and I am soooo excited to see what happens next in the show.
I am liking the season so far but the one thing I won't defend is the Frenchie being gay thing cos they have set up a relationship for 3 seasons and was nice to finally c them togeva but no we gotta make him gay
Disagree. The majority of audience doesn’t have a one sided political opinion on the show. It’s only the loud minorities that are seen. People really forget that most of us tend to be in the middle and are sick of the effort to divide the population. A lot of people like myself enjoyed the show clearly parodying both sides of the political divide and now they are going soooooo on the nose with one sided biased that it’s become just the same bullshit people are sick off. There’s no more relatable characters for the general audience, every single person in the universe is now so extreme that it’s not a show about normal people blindly being in a corrupt world, it’s just a completely insane universe with no normal, relatable people.
as a conservative myself I actually find the jabs they take at the Conservative Party funny. its just a show at the end of the day meant for entertainment and I don't really think people should be mad or take it that serious.
I honestly think Ryan will be the one to kill homelander in the final season. It just makes too much sense. They're not going the way of the comic and they need a way to bring him down. Ryan is the only real way to get to that end result. It's not gonna be the virus that finishes him or any of the boys. His son is the only real dramatic weapon that even has the capability to go hard core rage mode and end homelander. Ryan's arc is the most important.
