Something way different to what I normally do! with the weather being bad and the fish even worse. I decided to do some ultra light fishing in the gullies with micro lures. I was trying to catch as many species as possible.

Fun fishing for sure. Really simple but effective. A good way to just get out and get a few fish.
I agree. Best fun especially if time is a constraint and or space. I used to do open surf fishing all the time. Now I mainly do finesse fishing with light tackle.

True Story! The Berkley sandworms are killer. I also have a RUclips fishing channel where I practice catch and release fishing in freshwater and saltwater and I have been ticking off alot of species recently, such as, Natal Spotted Grunter, Houndfish, Blacktail, Perch, Kingfish, Bar-tailed Flathead, Olive Grunter and Ponyfish... I have the Zvibe but I only used it twice with no luck. I think I'm gonna dust it off and try it in the surf!!!

Some proper size blacktails there. I took a long break from fishing and have had a lot of anxiety issues to deal with but this really makes me want to take my drop shot rigs out and go target some gullies. Love your videos

Hey mate what boots do you use on the rocks/beach? And what makes them better than just wetsuit neoprean type ones cheers. Love the enthusiasm
Hows it man, i use normal gumboots that I cut off at the ankle, i prefer the white boots as the black tend to bake warm in the sun. It offers more protection and grips a lot better on the rocks.

Probably one of my favorite vids so far Xander. I would like to get into this sort of fishing too, so it would be great if you coud give a bit more specifics regarding the lures you used please.
One other topic I would. love to see too is J hooks VS Circle hooks. Do's and Don'ts. I've lost 3 massive cob in the last 2 months in Witsand and I'm convinced its because of circles, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advise would be appreciated because if I loose another big cob I might resort to Gumtree.

We do a lot of this in the uk (lrf, light rock fishing). Unfortunately our seas have been raped and fishing like this allows us to catch lots of species and numbers, and not always small.
