Been going to Brazil for the past 4 years back and forth. It’s definitely getting more expensive. Still better than Chicago prices.

it was never cheap, at one point in the last 10 years rio was more expensive then paris, london, and other major european cities. sao paulo is cheaper than rio by a mile

From South Texas and been a passport bro since the 90's, abroad has always been better. The past years prices are way out of control in a bunch of places. I like how you tell the truth on prices, they are not cheap like years ago.

❤❤❤❤ I believe $87 is correct. In NYC I spent close to $50 and that's one 10 items including cranberry juice in almond milk in NY. I can't wait to try Philippines shopping for groceries in 2025. Excellent video!

That joint might run you 140$ in DFW at Tom Thumb. might be 20-30$ cheaper at Kroger but lower quality. For what you got, all things considered you did very well! You could have even threw in a bottle of wine or case of beer etc...and still have been under 100$!

Pao de Acucar is a national chain in Brazil, and prices tend to run a little higher, especially for bread and baked goods. Try one of the local or regional groceries, especially a bit away from Copacabana.

I live in Zona South too and I prefer the ‘Zona South " and Hortifrúti, Casa Pedro (emporium because we love healthy food here)and others healthy because it is cheaper, fresher, closer to my house and better 🙃
The bread really here is very good, even the whole grains (in my opinion they are better).
Not here, there are also very good liquid soaps, but they are sold in the pharmacy.
The brand I love most is Granado
When I was in the USA I really missed natural and emporius products, we really love that here and there I never saw one.

    Your good on soap MT,
Because Dove is the best soap.
Personally I use Dove sensitive bar. I’ve tried all the fancy soaps under the sun but nothing has ever been better with less irritation than Dove sensitive bar.

All due respect my brother, dove is not for black skin and I can’t believe in this day and age we are still using these watered down chemical ridden products.
Natural soaps like African black soap and moisturising with organic Shea butter etc rich in vitamins for the skin and hair. They are cheaper also over the long run. Check it out for real.

@@watchnoface8770 I second that notion. Buy black soap, shea butter, cocoa butter in bulk...maybe theres a specialty market, or section in the store. or perhaps a sub could bring it for a meetup! If anyone is traveling to Brazil for vacay- bringing some wit you would suffice!

I will say that pricing is about the same as in Barra da Tijuca. There’s a huge grocery store named Guaranaba here and I bought about the same amount of stuff… maybe a bit more… 90 items for about $120USD.

Skylar, Have you ever been to "Granado", "Boticário,"etc, here, " Granado brand from Rio as exemplo even have products for the home? Oh, they also have several other brands such as: " Dr Jones", "Mantecorps," "Cavalera","Viking," ‘Vegetal do Brasil", even the "Zona Sul" supermarket has their brand, etc.
These are some of the Brazilian brands for men and some of them are sold in pharmacies and others are only sold on the internet.
They also sell many others imported there.
My fiancé uses and likes the brand "Viking," "Uraban Men and,"and "Sobre barb".
For example, I only use national brands and sometimes French ones because I think they are better.

Brother Skylar, I had eczema as well, but I got rid of it through doing a herbal cleansing, and following up with introducing one food at a time to my digestive system. The immune system is in the gut and certain foods, or your body's ability to not eliminate those foods properly will cause toxins to build up, the toxins surface through your skin causing patchiness, itching (mine was particularly in my inner elbows, rear knees, sometimes back if my neck). I also noticed the clothes detergent you bought most likely contains skin irritating chemicals, I switched to free and clear dish and clothes detergent.
Those good prices are good, but my suggestion would be to stick with whole foods with single ingredients and see how your body reacts.
Alright brother, appreciate your work, keep bringing us the inside scoop in Brazil...

Overall I would not complain. Five dollars for the mango is a bit much, but it’s ready to eat. My wife said that everything you purchased would be cheaper at another grocery store chain. Pão de açúcar she compares to Whole Foods.

Bro it’s not you can’t use hard soap, it’s that you’re using that crappy soap with chemicals. Use organic African black soap you can use on whole body and hair and use Shea butter for hair and body. It’s natural and much cheaper and healthier for your skin and hair. Trust me on this!! You may still need sun screen but Shea butter also has sunscreen properties too.

Not true. They have nut milks on shelves sometimes and not in fridge. It just depends on if it's plant-based or cow's milk. Also, where's the organic selection? I'm sorry but U.S groceries are still light years ahead if you go to whole foods or sprouts.

This is what i said last year just because the USD or the GBP is stronger to the Peso, doesn't mean you're getting a bargain. You have to take into account the country's inflation rate, cause if it's equivalent or greater than that of the west, then you're basically gonna be paying the same or more as if your were in the USA or Great Britain.
