I did came to Sragi in 2014, and was lucky enough to be able to see some steam locos in action. Although unfortunately it was too late to see its field workings, as they were concluded at the end of 2003 season. Had I bothered myself to go there when I lived in Bandung in that year, I would have seen them anyway.
I can't believe those steam locomotives, still working I use to saw that loco full of sugar cane when I was little girl, because I was born in comal close to sragi ,thanks for sharing.
Not unless you have very deep pockets and a trustworthy local expert who can negotiate with the sugar company management and Indonesian customs to export these locos. It has been done but not often.
