- Hey guys welcome to todays video where Im going to go over ever single obscure like secrets that you can find in each and every single game in the series. I really enjoy making videos like this for you guys and I hope you enjoy watching!! Thanks for supporting me!
Must be hard to find “obscure secrets” in the older Mario games that the internet has peeled away everything possible in these games.
I know it’s not the same as when I was a kid lol, still though once in awhile I learn something I had no idea about
@@Copycat_YTyou mean 2 years ago?
@@ZachAdams926 thats what i was wondering... he probably wasnt even born until like 2004
Here’s something interesting about the SMW2: Yoshi’s Island minigame menu - you can learn about it in-game! In 5-4, there is a door on the left that you can enter to find a Chain Chomp. If you defeat it with either a POW or Winged Cloud from your inventory, another door will appear. Through this door is a message block that tells you the code. That’s how I originally found this secret!
7:40 Those aren't the end goal minigames, they're the minigames in locked huts. The end goal miniganes are unlocked 1 by 1 by 100 percenting a world.
The coconuts turning into watermelons is probably a reference to the Japanese traditional game Suikawari, where they take a watermelon to the beach, and take turns trying to split it with a stick while blindfolded. Kind of like opening a piñata, except they place it on the ground, usually with a tarp or something else underneath it so the melon does not get sandy.
i wouldnt call unlocking rosalina in 3d world as an obscure secret you just beat a level and thats it
13:27 the 1-up trick was intentional in the original Super Mario Bros. It was featured in the manual and I believe a Nintendo power magazine
How could something detailed in the instruction manual be considered an "obscure secret"? I ask this same question every time someone brings up player 2 controlling the ducks in Duck Hunt.
Many didn’t read the booklets, or they were unavailable to be read
The secondhand games market has been a thing almost from the beginning of the games being sold, and many resales didn’t include the books
@@chrisquint3656 Certainly true, however I still don't think those factors qualify this information as either "obscure" or "secret", both of which words imply either lost or purposely hidden, when the information was made readily available with the original product itself, and has been even more readily available since the ability to search the internet became commonplace.
I don't think that I had much trouble defeating those bosses as Mini Mario in NSMBDS. Maybe a little, but they weren't that hard for me.
Also, you can play as Luigi in the first New Super Mario Bros. Game too, you unlock him the same way as the second game. But you always have access to him, no need to beat the game. The only thing you get for beating the game is the code to access him. But he's already there. I hope that makes sense. 🙂
I dont feel like one of the 120 shines should count as a hidden secret in Super Mario Sunshine...
2:07 even when I was a child and I played this game for the very first time on Super Mario All-Stars in the early nineties, I found that Cliff down right away. And I also learned about the warps a little later.
And also real quick you made an error. There's actually four of those warps in Super Mario Bros 2. The one in 1-3 gets you to world 4. The one in 3-1 gets you to world 5. The one in 4-2 gets you to world 6. The one in 5 - 32 the world 7. There's four of them, not three of them
Yeah it will be hard
You uploaded this video just in time so i can finally eat my chips while whatching something good
2:49 the one in world 2 I remember finding by complete accident when I was a kid. It was at some point in the late nineties when I did I think. So it was years after I first played the game. Since it was on Super Mario All-Stars for the Super Nintendo we have to get the toad house was blue instead of white. Found that anchor I didn't know what it did at the time.
Didn't learn about all the secret toad houses until I watched a video from Davers a decade ago
A+B+Select+Start resets every Gameboy game
SMB2 has four Warps, not three.
Also, you misspoke about SMW2. It came out in 1995, not 1985.
Fun fact about the Super Mario Land reset code, it's also there in some other Gameboy and late NES games for some reason. Didn't know it was mentioned in the manual though!
Also, the Super Mario Land 2 demo thing does indeed only work on revision 0 (or version 1.0) carts.
Also ghost luigi will also appear in Galaxy 2 if you complete the level as Luigi. Not very obscure to find, and most people probably found that on their first playthrough
I only knew about the SMB2 warp thanks to Nintendo Power.
Here's a secret for SMW that it doesn't look like you knew. (Unless that's somebody else's footage.) In rooms like in 4:38, if you have the Cape, hit the left side of each ? Block with the Cape, left to right, I think, and the third one is guaranteed to let out a 1-up mushroom.
I'd put the Coin Ships from SMB3 in there with the White Toad Houses. Both just seems like random things, until you learn the mechanics that makes them appear.
There are four warps in Super Mario Bros 2:
World 1-3, take to get to World 4
World 3-1, take to get to World 5
World 4-2, take to get to World 6
World 5-3, take to get to World 7.
As you stated to play as Luigi in New Super Mario Bros 2, you can use the same code in the first New Super Mario Bros
I do remember finding that warp in Super Mario Bros 2 back in the day . I'm not sure how. I guess when I was younger I was more likely to do stuff like that looking for secrets. Or I messed up a jump lol
Both Super Mario Bros 1 secrets are hardly obscure. Almost everyone I knew discovered that within days of playing Super Mario Bros.
As a kid I never knew of them but I also was super young, also got my games 2nd hand so I didn’t have the manual
I 100%-ed Wonder and I think I saw Captain Toad like once...
Cool
I don't know. I think beating the Mommy pokey. With mini , Mario is Ashley. Pretty fun and is great challenge. Where it gives it more of a use.
No timestamps is painful😢
What about the smartest Mario enemies?
Good idea!

For your own safety, I hope you aren't talking about furries... 😠
Don't try to sound so cringe.
@tails183 ...didn't start it...
He definitely did, and it’s disgusting besides being stupid meme culture, but literally saying that after talking about Jr. is just wild! 🤨🧐
