    As a Firefighter/Driver in the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, you deserve a medal for saving the woman's life with your quick reaction. Would be a different outcome if you weren't there as any driver would have just seen a broken down car on the side of the road and just carry on driving.

    • @justanotherviewer4821
      @justanotherviewer4821 4 года назад +1

      Yes, I think he did. Hero! She was oblivious to the full extent of the situation although getting out of the car in a live lane is pretty sketchy, It was good to see the car slow down with hazards on. The road was relatively quiet - although with speed... vehicles soon come out of nowhere - the other vehicles could have reduced their speeds.
      My understanding is she was awaiting on emergency services and froze in a panic. Flames maybe not an issue but would have been overcome by smoke by the time they arrived. Nobody else bothered to come to her aid. Kev is a true hero and gent.

    Well done that man, deserves a medal. I hail from rural Essex. Used to be an HGV1 driver back in the day.
    Worked for Ford as an HGV Test Driver at their Boreham Proving Ground..Great fun taking a left hooker Transcontinental round Marble Arch on a test route with 40 ton of concrete test block weights under a Special Exemption certificate prior that weight limit coming in.

    To answer your question Kev, I am from Wednesbury, West Midlands and my Fiance is from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, we have recently just come back from a short break away in Weymouth and the village of Preston, not far from Weymouth down your neck of the woods in Dorset there and last month we had a short break away in Poole Dorset as well, we both love Dorset and COVID willing we will be back down for a weeks holiday in Weymouth and Portland August next year :) And by the way, well done on helping that lady and letting her know her car was on fire, you saved her life there, otherwise could have been a fatality, what a hero you are and all round decent bloke, we need more people like you in the world and drivers as well ! Looking forward to the next vlog as always :)

    Top man Kev. Very heroic running in a live lane to save the woman who would have been overcome by smoke by the time the fire brigade arrived. Even with a hi viz on so many drivers are distracted these days and impatient, so much so they probably didn't see the situation and assumed it was an abandoned car. Traffic was quite light, if the drivers chose to reduce their speed rather than accelerating to overtake the car on fire, the woman may have felt more comfortable to step out of the car to safety.

    Being a Citroen nut I am here some info for you Kev, in 1997 Citroen brought out the Xsara Coupe, Hatch and Estate, In 2001 it had a facelift on the front and was in production until 2004 when the C4 Hatch and Coupe was launched. The Xsara Picasso MPV was launched in 2000 had some little changes in 2004, production was meant to stop in 2007 when the C4 Picasso was launched but the Xsara Picasso was such a popular seller Citroen extended production until 2010.

    Nice one helping that lady! Looks like a Ford Focus?
    Here in South Africa the newer Fords seem to have a propensity for catching alight. Just Google "Ford Kuga fires South Africa". One chap was burnt to death, it's assumed that by the time he realized what was going on the fire had already taken out his central locking and so he was trapped. Also seems like it's becoming an issue on the locally build Ranger Wildtrack. Once again, well done.

    my hat goes off to you Kev, this is the sort of thing that should be shown more of on TV and stuff. too many truckers, and car drivers will not stop in fear of their own safety. or selfish on I got to get to my destination. and too many truckers are trying to race the clock to make their delivery time slot. she was extremely lucky that you were there at that exact moment. a couple of seconds earlier you might not have seen the flames, a couple of seconds later and would have been too late to do anything. I have seen police chases in america whereby the grass catches fire as soon as the police officer has stopped his car, and already it is too late to save the car, and that is with the officer jumping out of his patrol car quickly, and grabbing his fire extinguisher on the way out of the door.

    That lady was so lucky you spotted that, bought her valuable minutes to get her stuff out before the fire took hold. That Jag body work looked superb apart from its bumped nose, and not that high mileage for a Jag. Am in Peterborough.
