Use a torpedo level on top of the device while the end bracket is in the end of the device... then mark one of the holes in the bracket to indicate its location. Never measure top down because you run the risk of the device not being installed level.
They’re designed for solid core doors and fire doors for emergency exits. They would not work well on hollow corridor. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
