The ambiance in this level is pretty unsettling, even as an adult who never grew up playing Conker. I can totally see this being one of those video game levels you refused to enter as a kid. You know the ones.
The more I look back on this level, the more I realize how much resident evil inspired it. The tank controls, the mansion setting, the library infested with undead…
Its honestly just a huge resident evil and other horror game parodies. Literally how you put it with the tank controls, the awful camera, the undead, the keys, etc. Its why I love playing it nowadays because its so much fun to just discover new things about Spooky even after 20+ years
That was the scariest part. Just the helplessness after picking it up and going around the hoards of zombies, no access to the gun, empty mansion, scary music and terrifying sounds. Just be careful and dash your way around those zombies.
@@SOM-v4o I'm not just talking about that. If you pick up the key before opening all the pathways, you can literally softlock yourself and are forced to get killed.
1:02 Oh hey Tawfret is that you? These more sinister tracks in the game really bring back some of the JFG soundtrack vibes, and not just because it's Robin using some of the same samples. And I adore both of them.
This legit haunted me as a kid. I could never play past the zombies part especially after becoming free of the bat form. My brother finished for me. Lol

I remember walking on the 2nd floor near a ledge. The zombies were on the floor below so I felt safe, then to my horror I heard the noises of zombies eating 😱😱😱😱😱
This theme is very haunting, especially when listening and looking at the ruins of the WTC towers after the 9/11 attacks. This theme will forever remind me of 9/11 since I was a sophomore in HS and played this game around the time of the attacks back then.
thats creepy to think about cause personally alot of game soundtracks remind me of fun times when i played them and the things i did and saw at that time. but when you compare a terrible experience and time like that which is totally the opposite. it sends chills down my spine. Spooky sound with scary times.
This level really stands out, One of the reasons is when you get to this part in the game the tone starts to get darker and serious than before and that is great. Also this music is more creepy listening to at night while looking up scary stuff.
This still gives me the creeps from this level itself...… The Atmosphere of being all alone...… The Laughter and Cries from Babies and Childrens….. The Music is Spine Chilling inducing...… The Zombies lurking around every corner moaning and groaning searching for brains to eat..... You feel that nowhere is safe.....

This part...Just when you think you killed all the zombies, one re spawns around the corner in the hall while you're holding the key. I'm on this part right now in my 2nd playthrough.
From my experience, I think some of them automatically respawn when you grab the second key in order to make your life harder. I cleared out every hall on the way to the second key, then nearly got blindsided towards the last corner with the key. It's hard because you can't put the key down to defend yourself, which really sucks.
I found out through trial and error that the only ones that respawn are the ones in the hidden hallways around the corner. Rareware had some trolls in the developing room for sure.
They definitely re-arrange the zombies based on which key you have to get next. There is almost no point in trying to clear the path beforehand, unless you just want to kill some zombies for fun, that is-
The music in the haunted areas are all spooky as hell. Listen to the Windy Graveyard theme if you didn’t already, it is pretty messed up. The composer, Mr.Beanland probably had fun making these tracks.
