Lucy has loads of videos on RUclips, some with her younger sister, Martha. "Hallelujah" at age 16 had tens of millions of views; "Evergreen" is smooth-as-silk perfection. "A Bridge over Troubled Water" superb; "Somewhere" from West Side Story, and several religious songs with Martha are knocked out of the park. See "Run," at about age 15 - remarkable.
I think the lyrics are the original ones. Written in 1967, nobody really knows what they are about. My take is, it's about someone having an acid trip at a party 😉 A belated Happy New Year to you 🎉 Thanks for the reaction.
It was all my pleasure! I was just re-watching my first reaction to Procol Harum's version. It's over on my other YT channel, "Reaction Diaries". Here's a link, incase you'd like to check it out! Cheers and Welcome to the Lounge! ruclips.net/video/IDd1cTtTfl0/видео.html

LOL! Procol Harum did it originally, and I have reacted to it also on my other YT channel, Reaction Diaries. I've heard the same thing about the lyrics!
Procol Harum never understood the Lyrics and no one has ever been able to make sense of them Lucy turns this iconic song into a beautiful work of art. @@TheSpeakEasyLounge
This is a great production in sound and vision where Lucy demonstrates her low and deeper rich tones. Even a bit smoky. What made the original a classic was the electronic organ and the tune not the song. For Lucy to use the same electronic organ would too much a copy, and Lucy wants to stamp her own mark on this. The song lyrics are the same but still meaningless, just when Lucy sings we hear and understand every word. Lucy as always sings this beautifully and better than Procol Harum, just no iconic electronic organ. I think you might enjoy Lucy singing 'Somewhere', 'Memory', 'The Way We Were', or original 'Broken Dreams'.
Small difference with the original: Lucy sings "and so it was later as the... that..." The original is "and so it was THAT later as the... that..." , kinda bracketing a subsentence between two "thats" This construct appears several times in the song. Many coverers including Lucy skip this opening "that".

This is the second review of Lucy that you have done, that I noticed has additional echo/reverb that is not in the original release on her channel. It is hurting the quality of this release. You should check your audio settings/software to see if you have something turned on causing this. I went back to her CD while watching your review and can hear a significant difference.
Hi Downrigger... You are correct about the additional echo/reverb that is not in the original release. I clearly can hear this distortion. I am glad you have pointed it out because it does take away Lucy's pure and clean tone.
@kevinsattler6603 On Lucy's original there is a small amount of reverb which is standard. However on this reactor's video there is an extra echo which I have noticed before with one or two reactors, I am guessing they are using a mic in the room which adds this effect, but could be wrong.
@@Cholseyroyal What is the case is that in the final verse she is harmonizing with herself. I suppose that counts in some sense as using electronics, but it’s pretty hard to do otherwise 😉
Over the years I have come to the conclusion that Lucy is incapable of ruining a song. The lyrics are true to the original. I thought that when she covered Aerosmith’s I don’t want to miss a thing that she might change it too much. She didn’t. I kind of like her vocals better than Steven Tyler’s. Annie Lennox did a similar cover of Whiter Shade Of Pale 15-20 years ago. Lucy is much better.👍🌹❤️
Hi ya Jennifer - very nice reaction. I didn't think that anyone could do justice to this song after Procal Harum, but Lucy is right there. Her lower range vocals are a distinct divergence from her usual high note crescendos in previous songs. Lucy has once again shown us her ability to surprise us with her variety of presentation. Thank you for your continued support for Lucy. Stay safe and healthy in 2024!
I feel like this was more influenced by the Annie Lennox version which was released back in The 90's but in all honesty I prefer Lucy's version, she has more warmth in her tonality.
@@TheSpeakEasyLounge It's worth checking out, a very interesting version for sure (video is typically weird) being Annie Lennox 🤣 The fact that in my opinion Lucy has a better voice and certainly more beautiful voice then Annie Lennox already whilst still being a teenager is just about the highest compliment I can pay her as Annie Lennox is a legend and one of the all time greatest!
Hi Jennifer Great reaction .I have to say Lucy did a great job of this song I have heard many versions and hers is without a doubt the best. Hers was nearer to Annie Lennox than the original. I have heard Procal Harum sing this and obviously they were the first to sing it. However that does not make it the best. It was good for the time it was released but by todays standards nothing special In my opinion sound wise vocally its not even in the same league as Lucy. I listened to the Denmark version I could not find anything special in it apart from the orchestra.Stay safe and Thanks for your continued support of Lucy.
Hi! I’d like to recommend you a crossover group from South Korea(from Phantom Singer 4 this year) I discovered recently. Its name is “Forténa” that consists four tenors(I’ve heard it’s the first crossover group with four tenors). This group has two count tenors which is unusual for crossover group. One of the members is a very famous count tenor(His name is DQ Lee and played in lots of operas all over the world). Please check their cover songs, “Neapolis” and “Demain n’existe pas“ from a competition program(phantom singer 4). I’m sure you would like them and I’d love to hear your opinion about their singing! Thanks!
This is such a beautiful song..The original is amazing and so is Lucy Thomas. Well done young fantastic Lucy. Thank you for sharing this with us. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
I finally realized what might be causing the audio issue. I noticed that you are not wearing headphones or ear buds. If you are listening to music on speakers, you are getting delayed feedback through your microphone. You need to turn off your microphone when not making a comment. There may be microseconds of delay between when the song is recorded, and the computer processing the audio for the speakers and returned to the recording through the microphone. Sorry to harp on this, but Lucy does put out high quality music. There are some other reviewers that have such distorted sound that I wont waste my time listening even if they have something good to say.
Lucy has extraordinary talent and this talent is enhanced by the team around her . The team was created by Chris Broom , who understood the potential of this child in 2018, and signed her in his recording company. I am quite sure that next videos will be, even, more stunning.❤🥰👍👏
PS, Jennifer , there are a couple of Barbara Streisand songs that I never liked ( Evergreen, The way we were) but Lucy’s voice is so phenomenal that she makes me like them! So I listen because it is Lucy and not so much the song.
As usual Lucy makes a song her very own and showcasing that superb lower register. If you want to hear a complete contrast in genre, watch Lucy do an Etta James cover, a smokey "At Last". It demonstrates her versatility. Just an observation Jennifer, do you have to have the replay vidoe screens resolution so high. The singers faces look like they have been dusted with flour. Happy New Year to you and your family

Lucy is my all time number one with a big advantage to any other singer. But you asked for new singers. I am quite impressed by a German singer called : Patty Gurdy ( stage name).
