Eltnum's combo routes feel different from other unist characters because her kit is based heavily on her Melty Blood kit

@@agaed7676 to add on to what khori said. Melty Blood(Eltnum's home series) is a series that has much more air combat and air combos, so Eltnum was given more aerial mobility to reflect that. Also I think she's either the only character with multiple air throws
That explains her unique aerial movement
If you do all her combos, main her, and win EVO, you get the Eltnum JAV.

@@ConductorElcrest most people wouldn't call her high tier because although eltnum has a ton of scary options she's very momentum based and it gets punished hard for mistakes like if you dont get your reload because of a combo drop. At least that's what people say in the eltnum discord lol.
Playing UNI on Hitbox (all button controller) definitely makes execution a bit easier, but half circles are a pain. Thanks to Proxic0n, I'm having a lot of fun doing DP combos more consistently as opposed to doing it on pad.

She actually doesnt end with that in uni cause unlike melty, her air throw here is complete garbage as a combo ender.
If you play Eltnum please never use the air throw as an ender. It’s really bad
Only use airthrow as a starter.

Damage nerf, richochet being a projectile, no bd cancel off j.214a ender, along with the fact most characters have a 5f normal so its hard to capitalize on 22a in pressure it's kinda depressing tbh
@@SkyeAutumns 22a is minus 1. You shouldnt be able to capitalize on it in pressure to begin with. It's minus. It is not your turn after it is blocked. That's what enhanced bullets are for. You cant adapt to how she plays now so you write her off as bad when in reality it's just Eltnum players are too lazy to play outside of their comfort zone. Y'all still playing the game like it's ST Eltnum is what im saying.

@@ApexGale her damage is still some of the highest in the game alongside wagner and hyde. She still gets meterless 4k. A solid starter in VO can and *will* lead to around 6k as well. Wagner's best damage in VO is 7k. Hardly far off. Phonon is the one who got her damage destroyed. People have no idea what they're talking about when they say Elt doesnt do damage anymore lmao
@@rainofkhandaq6678 it's actually a remake and a prequel to the VN it's based on, which is why Eltnum isn't in it because the original Melty was a sequel not a prequel and it was where Eltnum first appeared

It's not really her combo enders that got nerfed. It's a few of her normals, mainly 2c (2-hit) that got nerfed. Other than that her damage and combo enders are mostly the same.
A shame hitbox is still hella expensive outside of the US

i love my hitbox the only thing is i wish i had the qanba obsidian version so i can have a headphone jack and the extra buttons to control console stuff and have easier access to reset in training mode

I honestly didnt know, I know its the same developer so I thought it was like a....ugh...You know when you die in DnD and just erase the character name and put a new one in so you can play what is essentially the same character. I thought it was like that xD
@@ElricWilliam people do that? Sounds lame, I have too many characters I want to play in d&d to play the same character again when I die. Unless their story isn't done then the party will find some way to revive or something
@@grantgarbour i know lots of people that do that. Its mostly a trick to save time rolling a character that dies mid session or I guess in this case, Save time on development (also Sion is awesome in Melty)

For what I understand they nerfed the combo damage in her more optimal routes and ricochet being an actual projectile
People *swear* they destroyed her damage when in reality she just needs to do her new routes to do high damage is all. If anyone got their damage destroyed it was Phonon. Elt still vomits war criminal levels of damage. The real big hits are projectile ricochet shot and losing j214a backdash cancel enders

fat buttons, fat damage, full screen confirms, like one of the best vorpal traits ever, huge stagger windows, solid mobility on the ground and in the air, absurdly plus on block 22b which can cancel out of overhead for free, with an airthrow and a dp?

@@littlefuniman6881 when most of the cast is so strong its easier to understand just a few nerfs makes her a lot worse plus she is one of the few characters that actually got nerfed from the last version. Id say she is still strong for sure.
@@nekoinalydian she isnt "one of the few who got nerfed" a lot of the cast lost damage across the board. Hilda, Elt, Phonon, Byak, Seth, Yuzu, Gordeau, and chaos all got a damage nerf. There are probably a couple others i forgot as well but it was much more than a "few" characters that got their damage nerfed.
@@justsomeguy727 she didnt just lose her damage though she lost her good oki ender, strike property on gun and in return got a bunch of very lacking tools to compensate. Her back airdash, while solid, helps setup a really jank air mixup that you can pretty easily escape. She can reload faster when she messes up? (literally the worst buff as you never want to mess up a reload). an air dp that doesnt really have a lot of applications. Basically the best thing she came out with was a 7 Frame 5B. Now I get that Yuzu lost some damage but are you really gonna tell me that Yuzu overall got nerfed? Id still say Eltnum is a strong character because of some of the things she still has but I think she is by far the most nerfed character where all those characters you mentioned either are just straight better or barely worse if at all.
