The Risks of Consuming Treated Seeds: Insights from Seed Systems Expert Tendai Madanzi

When hunger bites, some families resort to consuming left-over seeds. There are recent media reports of a Mwenezi family of five that died after consuming a meal from treated maize seeds bought from South Africa. We sought the expert advice of a seed specialist to understand the risks (if any) of consuming treated seeds.
