      I think 225 for 2 hours and then bring it up to 350. I was confused also at first thinking I had to rush to get a bag of ice to cool down the grill……😂😜

    I've been told to always smoke it breast down so the fats from the dark meat seep down into the white meat keeping it moist. Thoughts?

      20 min is not enough time to rest. Rest for 2 hours. Watch Gordon Ramsey on what he says about turkey.

    I don't have a treager that has temp. It only has smoke low and high. How do I do a 18lbs turkey with my trager and how many hrs? Thanks in advance

    • @sipbitego
      @sipbitego  9 месяцев назад +1

      You’d need to figure out what temp is low / high and then adjust the recipe to the best fit

    What brand of Turkey pellets are you using? The stores near me ran out of Trager turkey pellets.

    • @sipbitego
      @sipbitego  2 года назад

      These are in fact Traeger. They have a new bag so that’s why it may look different. My store - ace hardware - had both at the same time. I’ve seen them on Amazon too.

    How does the skin turn out? I was told that the skin turns out like rubber when you smoke it.

    • @sipbitego
      @sipbitego  11 месяцев назад

      You’ll get it crispier if you broil in the oven, but really happy with smoking it. You can crank up the smoker to 400 to help at the end.

    Trying this tomorrow. It's my first time cooking a turkey. It's right under 9 lbs, so it might cook even quicker than yours. I was looking for a recipe without brine.
