    I have this exhaust, when accelerating or just after start motor it makes a great impression. But the akaprovic has a nicer bass sound, more rich. The S1 has a nice compact size and looks good on a motorcycle.

    To answer some of the questions here. I have this exhaust on my 890. The difference between stock is like night and day. When you remove the db killer, ohh my word! In terms of loudness, the stock is 55%, SC Project with db killer on its like 75% and no db killer is like 100%. Its got some serious base. To remove the db killer, you just need pliers. Or hit it from the inside/opposite side with a broom stick.
    I heard the Akra and I was really disappointed. The difference between stock and akra is like 10%-15% at best.

    Awesome video man, appreciate you uploading and showing the whole process. Does this have a removable DB killer? Also if you are in the states, where did you purchase this exhaust from?

    • @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic
      @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic  2 года назад +2

      Thank you. It has a removable DB killer. It is a bit different what I saw on RUclips, it using a bolt instead of snap ring, and it is basically narrowing the outlet diameter. No metal "cup" at the bottom of the DB killer. You can see a hole in the inside of the muffler end. That is the one you need to remove, then pull the DB killer out. I am from Europe, I ordered from the SC-Project website (link in the description).

      @@Mr.Bearded.Mechanic Did your exhaust come like that? Got mine a couple weeks ago but theres no access hole. They make you drill through the carbon fiber to access the bolt to take the db killer out. Mines for the MT-10 but wouldnt think theyd be that much different besides the mounting brackets.

    hello, got a 890 duke R. Also got a ixrace slip on exhaust and my boot goes straight on the pipe so it melt on... I'm 45 EU Feet, do this happen with dat slip on ?

    • @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic
      @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic  Год назад

      Hey, the tube/slip-on does not touch my shoe, only issue with it was pointed out by some of the viewers that the carbon-fiber heat shield can touch the boots (with shoes I do not have any contact with it).

  • @jimmylau6388
    @jimmylau6388 2 года назад

    Just curious. With the stock exhaust when I am riding on the ball of my feet, my right heel is in contact with the heat shield of the exhaust and it's not he most comfortable. With the SC Project S1 exhaust, does your right heel make contact with the exhaust if you are on the ball of your feet on the peg?

    • @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic
      @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic  2 года назад +1

      I am not a sporty rider but my heal do not make contact with the pipe/heatshield. Heatshield on the SC1 is made from carbon which is a better heat insulator than stainless steel. Hope I answered your question. Ride safe

    Hi, would you recommend this exhaust? Do you have any DB readings? I actually have the Akra slip on installed on my 790 but I’d like something a bit louder without having to mess with the cat or DB killer which is a pain with the Akra. This exhaust is a real contender, believe it’s one of the louder slip ons?

    • @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic
      @Mr.Bearded.Mechanic  2 года назад

      Hi, unfortunately I do not have DB readings. What I can tell the sound is deeper, raspier and louder. I definetly can hear it more with helmet on. The SC-PROJECT website says at 4500 rpm it producing 100 DB with DB killer on (102 DB without). OEM sticker says 94 DB at 4500 rpm. There are some videos with DB readings on youtube. I did not ride my bike since the video because of the rainy weather, tomorrow will be warmer and shiny day, so I can try it. Will come back with feedback.

      @@j.h.237 Definitely louder than the original. The exhaust is more audible over the entire rev range. If you like a raspy, deep sound, this is the one for you. At idle speed, it can be too much if your ears are a bit sensitive, but at cruising speed it's not too bad. I did not use earplugs. I've searched through videos and this is the closest one sound wise:: ruclips.net/video/z6wcIny-3_k/видео.html

      Ciao, per la Duke 890 del 2022 hai bisogno di questo come da sito ufficiale: numero di parte: KTM12C-41T (per la Duke 790 il sito dice: KTM12A-41T).
      Questo tipo S1 non è omologato per la circolazione stradale. Il tipo SC1-R (codice prodotto per la Duke 890 del 2022: SCP-KTM12C-91) è omologato per la circolazione stradale.
