Hahahah 🤣🤣🤣Omg so funny??
yes
@@CharlieHepp okay and why that is that true uhhh🤔🤔🤔
Kitty saying the internet being two demons yelling at each other will have me laughing for a while.
Ikr😆
Ya know, that really is how dial-up sounded…
When we first got internet in like 01 lol 😂 we had dialup and that is exactly how it sounds
I remember when my family got our first home computer (a Dell) in 1993. My Dad set it up and the modem first made that unmistakeable noise and my Dad said “I hope we didn’t just blow up China”.
Same here 😂
I’m glad that they decided to go with the opt of having that 90s’ show and have it be a spin-off of that 70s’ show
Ditto, it won't be long before they make "That 00's Show" or "That 10's Show!"
They tried before with that 80s show right after the original ended but i think it lasted maybe half a season. The problem was that people didn't want new characters in a different time. Thats why this one is basically a reboot with the same characters but new actors. I commented above about that.
I wish they would have hired better actors, that had more personality and that actually understood the 90's. These characters just don't work.
@@PanteraRossa That '80s show was also really bad. The original show was a realistic depiction of life in the '70s but the '80s one was a bad parody that wasn't really funny.
Also could have used some cameos ti see where the characters were at in the '80s.
@@hahna77 Kitty and Red made it worth to watch
The D.A.R.E shirt really took me back. Almost every kid had that shirt around that time. I don’t think I have seen one in 20+ years
It clearly didn’t have much effect
I saw a parody DARE sweatshirt at a Goodwill yesterday and almost bought it. It said "D.A.R.E. to resist your government." Lol
Was it a gift? I never saw a single kid with such shirt. I remember a few that would wear a yellow “smoke free class of 2000” shirt, but I never got one, despite also being the class of 2000.
I remember the d.a.r.e. program though. I thought it was a stupid waste of time. How hard was it to just say “no,” honestly? But they would drive around in those d.a.r.e. cars which would be confiscated from some drug dealer. All that did was tell me that dealing drugs was lucrative. Look what cool car you could have. I moved around a lot too, so I saw A LOT of cool d.a.r.e. cars.
If anything , I think D.A.R.E program did more to make kids wanna do drugs if anything else . Perhaps government wanted more children to be hooked on drugs so they created D.A.R.E to help spread awareness that drugs exists so that kids will be eager to try it . Just my theory
@@UmmYeahOk schools that participated in the d.a.r.e program gave them out. Apparently, they were relevant enough for the creators of the show to give them a nod. It was that exact shirt, I don’t recall ever seeing any variation of it
I definitely wasn't expecting Brian Austin Green, AKA David Silver himself, to guest star. He even continues a "That 70's Show" trend of playing his 22 year old self, despite being visibly older.
They did a great job in this one. I hope enough people watch it so it gets renewed, if you liked it, tell your friends because Netflix tends to make these decisions based on first 28 days of viewing data.
The main reason it works is because they literally copied and pasted characterizations from the original as opposed to writing entirely new characters and dynamics. That's why they feel lived in, because it's almost as if they recast that 70s Show, we know and love these people already!
Leia is Eric, Jay is Donna, Ozzy is Fez, Nate and Nikki are Jackie and Kelso, Gwen is Hyde and her mom is Midge. If Fez recurs, I imagine he'll be the new Bob.
Bob was Bob
I was a 90's kid and this series did bring back a little nostalgia from that time. One thing I will forever be grateful for when watching this very funny series.
That Beverly Hills 90210 intro with Brian Austin Green was giving what it needed to give 😎😆
I love when they get the 90s fashion right: especially the t-shirt dresses and black chokers 😊 😉
My 90s was spent mostly on Nickelodeon and the playground. Blockbuster was maybe every few months as my parents bought a lot of movies. I literally had access to the Disney parks every summer because I’m in Orlando so like every summer I was in the theme parks.
I lived in Tampa Bay back then so I went to Busch Gardens a lot. I remember when Kumba came out with that '90s color scheme and it was the smoothest coaster I's ever been on (not anymore-it's a bit rickety the last time I went about 10 years ago).
Right!!!
The two demons yelling at each other is a good description of the old dial up noise I remember.
It is.
YOu had to log off everytime someone needed to use the phone
@@Ernesto87 I had a program in wich my landline went to my cellphone in case I was on the internet. That worked well unless I forgot to log out that program befor I turned my pc off or the rederect remained active and people my parent went to my cell wich I had on me wasnt the best lol
It's also a great description of some of the back and forth babble on social media today!
Yep the 90’s had way better music than it does today. No doubt about it.
I’m a 2000’s kid, and I felt the rental store.
They even got actual movies boxes at the video rental store; saw Ferngully, Ron Baskin’s Rudolph, and Jurassic Park
I can’t wait for when they do anime references
Too bad they got so many covers wrong.
@@NickeyMousewhat covers did they get wrong?
Star Trek the motion picture, & Star Trek 6 the undiscovered country.
STOPPPP I LITERALLY HAVE THIS ON RIGHT NOW
Haha, Ms Mojo must be mind readers, right?! 😉
I was born 1990.
My childhood was full of fox kids, nick, Disney and cartoon network.
Plus a lot of good movies.
I wasn't pop culture aware as others in 1995.
Lots of great Christmases
#5 Caught at the credits at the end of the last episode. Music for "90's Show" was by James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins.
If I had to pick only one as the must have Smashing Pumpkins album "Mellon Collie & Infinite Sadness" would be it
It scares me that I am at the same age now that "that 90s show" comes out as my parents were when "that 70s show" came out
It’s interesting how both the time periods That 70s Show (1976-1980) and That 90s Show the Presidents are still alive in 2023.
OMG! I haven't thought of Zima in decades! I was having an after-work beer in a bar downtown ("The Cactus Cafe") and a Zima salesman asked me to try one. I took a few sips and I said something like: "Remember an old Peanuts cartoon where Lucy makes hot chocolate and since they were out of chocolate she heats some water and stirs it with a brown crayon? This is like that."
My Husband tried it in a supermarket and told the salesgirl: "You know what I think of Zima? It tases like Zhit." The girl laughed and said she would write that down word-for word. My Husband guessed she was getting sick of the stuff too!
I was in my teen years in the mid 90s ..so these references brings back memories
Watching this show reminds me just how creative and original that 70s show was, especially how likeable the characters were.
It also reminds me how you can never recreate that magic, try hard as you might.
My top is the Sonic Youth poster in Gwen’s room. One of my favorite artists. An incredible band I wish I wasn’t the only one of my groups of friends listened to back then.
I must have spend a fortune on videostores. That really brough back 90s memories
Leo's audition tape for The Real World.
HEY MTV! I'M LEO MAN.
90s was the best!
I'm a 90s baby so watching this show made me very nostalgic ☺️
Jay dresses EXACTLY like Jordan Catalano from My So Called Life 😂
Good show. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled. Brings back memories of being a kid.
To think the father of the Menendez brothers was a producer on _Fright Night Part II_ , which is such an underrated movie.
Yikes
The teens raiding Red's closet 😄😁
I grew up during the 1990s and I miss that decade SOO MUCH!!! To me, it was a simpler, happier time before all this technological crap took over the world
Biggest complaint about ‘that 90s show’ is the two male leads call each other ‘bro’ but 90s culture was just full of dudes not bros.. 🤷♂️
It would be cool if since kitty got the job as school nurse, she would interact sometimes with Gross Edna. (Hyde's mom) (Katey Sagal)
They should add more movie references like Gremlins , Wayne’s World , The Addams Family or Kindergarten Cop in Season 2. Have the group watch a 90s movie , just Like how Eric went to see the original Star Wars in That 70s Show.
Heather's
Clueless.. should be major in season 2.. its a 90s classic
I'd like to see Halloween episode with Scream and I know what you did last summer classics.
I agree or even more nerdy cultural things that blew up in the 90s like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, or Even Cowboy Bebop.
Dammit we said bobs name three times and summoned him like Beetlejuice
You almost forgot a bit of trivia surrounding Clerks that made it into the show: it was one of the most unreturned/stolen VHS rentals of the 90's.
With the 90s music, you missed the training montage with Jay and Nate. Or do metal heads always get left out. Cowboys from hell by Pantera.
I admit that, as a teenager in the 90s, I had several flannels in several colors.
watching wwf and pokemon in the late 90's made my childhood awesome.
Hell yeah! Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, and Cowboy Bebop were all amazing.
Now I wanna see a wrestling themed episode.......hell could even tie it into the show The 70's Show did about it where Eric and Red went to a WWWF show, that featured funny enough Ken Shamrock and The Rock as 70's era wrestlers.
And dont forget the nWo in WCW. Hopefully I see one of them wear an nWo shirt!
@@ajk Since its set in the mid-90s itd be cool if they go to a WCW show and see the nWo. Scott Hall unfortunately passed but they can have a Hogan, Nash and Bischoff cameo. Among some others.
I still love classic Real World.
I still have seasons 1-9 on VCR tape! I watch them every once in a while. I really liked Boston and London. I tried out for Road Rules Season 2 right after I graduated college. I went through 3 interview rounds and made the cut to the final 100, but I didn't go further. I ended up going for my pharmacology degree. I was kind of bummed because Season 2 of Road Rules looked like a ton of fun when I watched it--hahaha.
Leo renting clerks was my favorite part
Gotta love how they have vhs in the video store that were released 2 years after the setting of the show. Next to Jurassic Park you can see The Lost World Jurassic Park VHS cover which was released in theatres in 1997.
I saw that too.. yeah production design screw up that part..its 1995 there
Not only that, but it's the Collectors art which was in 2000
I'm a 90's kid myself, I can still remember a lot of these 90's callbacks.
Although, I was born in 1989...😅👌
Same Here.
Long Live 90s
And yet, to those of us who were born in 1980, this seems like only ten years ago. Haha
The Brian Austin Green cameo episode cracked me up! Also, I miss Blockbuster!
Needs more Super Nintendo, Fox Kids, and Nirvana references!
The pilot had a nintendo and donkey kong reference
@@marcelsgroot The DK scene had me dying but aside from Kitty mentioning Nintendo I feel like they really could have done more. As someone who was a kid in the 90s that literally hung out with friends in a basement, I'm shocked there isn't always at least one of the kids just randomly gaming whenever they're down there..or at the very least reading comics!
FoxKids( Bobby worlds, power rangers) was mainly for kids, not so much for the teens who would rather watch MTV or teen shows like 90210 and boy meets world.
I loved this show. Brought back, too many memories. All though, I was more into, saved by the bell, and family matters.
TGIF with Cousin Balki, Urkel, Growing Pains and the Tanners. Those were the days.
Leo was my favorite actor of them all
I was born in 1993 so I only remember stuff of the 90's that little kids remember and not so much the teenage and grown up stuff.
However I did love Free Willy so it's awesome to see Leia love it so much too! :)
Sadly though I haven't seen that movie since the 90's but I did have a huge love for it back in the day. :)
One of these days I long to see it again especially with streaming services existing today.
Fun fact: Free Willy and Hocus Pocus literally came out the very literal day I was born! Pretty cool huh? EEP! :)
Look up the movie to see what streaming service it is on
They should have played Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana
I did feel the strong nostalgia from the show given that was born in the 90’s but was easily influenced by the culture thanks to my brother and sister who were both born in the 80’s but their teenage years in early to mid 90’s. I genuinely enjoyed this show for its references and throwbacks from That 70’s show. I really hope this show gets a second season and more episodes, its worth watching.
The mall , renting movies , aol dial up, the clothes, music.
😢😢😢those days.
10:41
I miss those...... they closing
Kelso best character ❤
I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show as one of the movies at the video rental store in the show 😊
I just finished the season. I enjoyed the ‘90s references since I’m a ‘90s baby. I would watch a season 2.
Nice to know someone feels this way
I was born in 1995, and yes, I agree. The '90s felt different, and everything was simple and less advanced.
I remember watching DBZ on my VCR and Having Direct TV cable as a kid.
I also remember the economy being way better than it is now; overall, 2006-2016 were some of the best years I lived through.
Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Deathcore, Gangster Rap, Skinny Jeans, Black Vans shoes, Band T-shirts, everyone straightened their hair, everyone had either stretched ear lobes or lip piercings, and people were still flexing the iPhone 8's and the newest consoles like Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3.
Damn! Being twenty-seven years old, I sometimes miss the days of old; high school was kickass, and I'd either be at the card shop playing some Magic the Gathering, or I'd be hanging out with the guys and playing some Call of Duty or League of Legends.
High school felt like peak life, and being sixteen was nice, but life changed, and it got better for 80% of people.
I was a College Grad in the 90s. There was a feeling of anticipation, as we were heating towards the 21st century! "The Future!"
@Jermaine Anthony What are you talking about? I was a kid when people were still reading inside and going outside to play in the sandbox.
I was the kid who went outside with an RC Truck and a box of Chalk.
As a kid, I didn't have the vast technology people have today.
I was five years old in 2000, and yes, I can recall when I would go outside and not stay inside compared to this lame generation of people who stay glued to their phones.
You'll be lucky to find anyone in 2023 reading a book within their teen years.
I wasn't a teenager in the '90s, but I can at least remember how great the late '90s and early 2000s were.
@@TheMikester307 I bet people in the 80s were expecting the future to have flying cars lol
Sadly, the future has only been disappointing, with innovation not hitting at that speed yet.
When they have to point out everything that was 90s in that 90s show because of how not 90s it was :3
Donna aged more so than anyone else from the original cast.
But Leo still looks exactly the same 🤣I hope he gets more time on the show, he was one of my favorites lol
I really do enjoy this show on Netflix. Plus it’s better then that other spin-off that didn’t work.
* enjoy *
@@ThatCoalSoul I’ll fix it!
The real world was the first reality show and I just saw that it's still running so the longest running reality show
The tamagochi devices and movies like Jerry Maguire or Braveheart and Streetfighter or Tekken games
If Netflix keeps That 90s Show going, I would love to see the characters living through the boy band/girl group craze.
Well if they knew anything about Zima they would have a jolly rancher in it.
Wish they made a reference to all the skipping that CD must have been doing with all that flailing around lol
Bring on season 2 or
My foot will kick your S! 😂😂😂😂
It's a cute show. Is it a timeless classic? No. Is it as inspired as the original? No.
But it's a fun way to spend an evening.
There were a few scenes from the original series that were so expertly crafted and perfectly timed that they will always make me laugh no matter how many times I see them. My favorite is when Eric and Donna walk in on Jackie and Hyde, and they react in horror. The dialogue in that scene is worth its weight in gold. "Because you're breaking up the band, Yoko!"
The funniest scene in this series is the 90210 parody. Spot on.
I was raised in the 90’s. In small town Texas. We wasn’t like them on That 90’s Show. We were more like the originals from That 70’s. But yes it brought back some memories.
Blockbuster Video on Friday and Saturday. Zima. “Everyone” watched The Real World. It was a topic of discussion every Monday. It was me and 4-5 others every Saturday. They should add PS because that too was hit. Nearly everyone in town had a PlayStation.
Ok, I'm old. The spinning spice rack in the background of #5! (on the counter above the sink) We had one when I grew up and I loved it so much that I insisted on taking it with me when I moved out .😆
I wish that they give the show 18 episodes instead of only 10 episodes. But at least I hope it get a second season
The only things I recognise here is the video rentals and the windows 95. Yes. it is okay to use, unless you wanted to use the phone. I must say, Free Willy is awesome.
It's strange that it didn't mention the OJ Simpson Trial considering the fact it's the most famous true crime case from the era
I was thinking the same thing. But the writers probably left that out of the show out of respect for the murder victims
@@joewhitehead3 I mean there's a black girl in the show, it's perfect
@@mewesquirrel6720 That’s not what I meant
Yes I was obsessed with Beverly hills 90210 I love 💓 that episode I love That's 90s show it's hilarious great funny acting and hilarious 😂 writing
I love Mary Jo Rupp so much. Her and my mom would have been friends LOL
That 90s Show is full of anachronisms. I'm pretty sure they used the term "sick", as in "awesome". They use the term "bro" way too much, it wasn't as common. I also found Leia's kiss very problematic for obvious reasons.
*happy music in the background*
The case of menendez brothers was one of the most infamous trials of the 1990's *little chuckle* were two brothers killed their parents.
your own game. Brillent ! Well done.
I can't relate to all of these as an early 2000's kid, but I can relate to video rental stores. They were still around when I was a kid before Blockbuster went out of business. That was the era where the internet was also better but we didn't progress to fully relying on it yet. Kind of hope they do some references of the Genesis vs. Super Nintendo debate, that rivalry was so huge that it's still being discussed today. Much like if we ever get a That 2000's Show I expect Halo to be brought up. I wasn't even an Xbox guy or even knew what an Xbox was but Halo was all the rage. Dang it now I want a That 2000's Show after this lol.
no no, hold up. When we had dial up you would not waste your time in a flame war. So back in the mid 90s, the internet was not two demons yelling at each other.
So while kitty's statement stands, Ozzie's retort is not accurate.
I liked Zima and California Coolers too
I mean, kitty wasn't wrong about the government spying on you
That reminds me I still need to get the Menendez Basket card.
i love this world wide web
Oh ship that's what the Menendez brothers did, too busy drinking, smoking weed, playing PlayStation/N64/and not attending math class to bother looking up what they did.
90's born, makes me realize how my childhood was seeing the tech and toys at the time makes me wanna hug my little self. God damn I'm old.
@Light Skin Tanika haha you're right just miss the past when things were simple.
i was born in the 90's!
@@mariacristinabravo4681 I miss the past too. When I was sixteen, I felt high school life was "peak" life, as I got to go to metal concerts with friends and visit places like San Antonio, Texas. It got even better when I had a touchscreen phone, video games, and people to share those hobbies with.
As I get older, I realize that life isn't as great as it was when I was a teenager, but maybe that's because I still need to go to college.
I'm happy with my vehicle, so I'm working on getting a computer science degree. Making new friends as an adult is somewhat difficult, but perhaps that's why they say adulting is hard work 😂😂
@@Roasty420 I agree as kids were so quick to grow up instead of being just kids. Until we're adult looking back and wishing we were kids again. Also congrats on completing your degree.
Season 2 of That 90s Show? I say add Culver's to the mix, along with Copps Food Center aka Pick N Save, Wisconsin Dells, Menards, Johnsonville and more! I will love you even more for it.
Great video Ms mojo is a good channel
As a child of the 90's I cringed and also got sad at all the references I remembered and some references I still do to this day 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well, I was a child of the 70's and I cringed at a lot of that.
That bedroom set looks an awful lot like Jesse's or Zach's from Saved by the Bell
I hope they make a reference to Pogs Alf , he's back.
If only it a reference to Beavis and Butt Head
Anyone catch Kitty's Jay Leno reference at 11:00? He of course being The Tonight Show host at the time.
One thing they did was add The Lost World in the video store, which came out in 1997 and the first season is set in 1995.
Zima was good with Jolly Ranchers dropped in.
Kitty wasn't TECHNICALLY wrong thinking the POTUS would be eavesdropping....👀
Oh man Alanis Morissette, call me Canadian but shes iconic
“You ought to know” was a hit in 1994
I wonder if they're going to miss their chance for the old foggy generation gap attempt with the late nineties band fish
Oh nice!
The sound of dial-up internet doesn't bother me, never has -- but I didn't mind the feedback in any given rock song from the Nineties either.
That 90s show is a great tv show will always be a great tv show
