@@Butter-Milk I doubt it's because of legal issues, seeing how TJ voiced William Birkin in the re2 remake, and most likely the dead rising remake was in development during that time.

When frank takes off his sunglasses in that frame he looks like his original model updated but when he jumps out of the chopper he looks like his beta model.

interestingly it seems he might be redesigned a little, a combination of his hair and facial features too of the early draft of Frank, the bumpy nose and large forehead with that weird haircut.

After DR4 TJ voiced himself in Capcom Vs Marvel sequel and in RE2 professor but not anymore in DR franchise.
They dont like him just like Kojima did with David Hayter Snake which majority didnt like that.

Losing TJ as Frank West isn't a deal-breaker for me, but it just annoys me that they replace voice actors all the time in video games and animation and don't think it will change anything. It changes a lot. For me TJ IS Frank West. He sounds like a normal guy and not a cartoon character.

It also bugs me because I dont see any real reason for them to change the voice. It’s not like TJ’s performance was terrible or anything; in fact I think it stands out as one of the BETTER performances from that era of gaming. Plus TJ is very vocal about his love for Dead Rising/Frank.. I mean hell his profile pic on instagram is frank west lol. I suppose it would come down to some other reason like scheduling conflicts

They changed it because he's a union actor. It's all money. capcom is extremely greedy and scummy, and this IS a dealbreaker for me. I went from so excited when I saw the notification to hugely disappointed and actually sad.

They didn't bring TJ back because he is in a union now and capcom never brings back actors when they join a union. If he didn't then we definitely would see him back seeing as they had no problem bringing TJ back to do the voice for William Birkin in re2 back in 2019.

so if capcom had asked of him before, i can imagine he turned them down

Obviously that should be the case, the same exact items isn’t good enough for a new game release. You have no idea how stale this game will be if they don’t add new stuff, this is a 2006 game we’ve all played hundreds of times

I'm really iffy on the new voice actor but I think everything else looks pretty solid and it's nice to see Dead Rising come back in some capacity. Dead Rising 4 was the definition of a franchise killer, so it's nice to see that ultimately wasn't the case.

Are you sure this isn't RE Engine? As far as I'm aware, MT Framework isn't properly updated to work on the latest generation systems. It's why the recently announced MvC Fighting Collection doesn't have a PS5 or Xbox release.

That would be a total dream for me. More than likely I expect them to just put in an endless mode since many Dead Rising players want that sort of thing. I’d hope Capcom would put in the effort to justify this being a potential $70 game. Especially if it appears to be the original game but with newer graphics bolted on.
I just started playing through dead rising 2 off the record with a friend while i was playing dr1 solo. We just finished 2 and now are on 3 so if this remake has co op then we just literally timed this perfectly lol
Same, played through DR2 and OTR with a friend recently and had a great time so I really really hope they add co-op. Dead Rising just works so well with it. Since you can already play DR on current gen consoles I hope that they add something like that they take this opportunity to add co-op.

At that altitude, you would be able to see the trees. They were just above the mountains.
Knowing how Capcom is, they might do DLC where you can have things like the OG Dead Rising soundtrack like what they did with the Resident Evil remakes.
It's a shame they're not getting TJ back. Hopefully Frank makes it to the new MvC. Glad to get new content from you STiP0.

It’s fairly clear this is not a remake, it’s the original game with updated textures and an up-res. There might be a few other small updates or bug fixes but will play like the same experience.

I went to sleep thinking about the time my dad got me Bully and Dead Rising back in 06, and just how amazing both games were, and then I wake up to see these amazing news. DR1 was such an experience. I still remember almost soiling myself when the lights when off for the first time in the mall (I was 9)

A full on remake from the ground up would’ve been cool but there’s something nice to have the same exact game that we hardcore fans of know in and out. I’m looking forward to see how each survivor, psychopath and store looks with a new touch up!

Idk the original has its charm to this day aceI still play it. I kinda hope they modernize it, maybe tweak the story a bit, add some playable areas and make more things interactive (also hidden areas, I love that shit lol) but don’t destroy it or go crazy with it. No sense in paying full price for the same game with updated graphics when I already have the old one that I paid like 5 bucks for and still enjoy playing now lol.

I saw Frank on Reddit and thought it was fake. My cousin introduced me to the series when I was a young kid. I’m so glad we were in the car together when I found out about the remake. Name one remaster where they changed the VA
This game looks like it was made in 2016 and now being sold today. Seriously, there's so much to unpack as to why I believe this. The shadows are flat CSM shadows with no global illumination (something that's been standard since 2012 btw), there's little detail on the litter in the streets, ehhhh. Looks like a game from 2016. This is Capcom's B team or some third party studio.
@@SquareNevada1 I mean, the Silent Hill HD Collection for 7th gen consoles got major flack for redubbing the the voices as well as being a vastly more buggy version of SH2 and 3. SH2 may have had the option to use the original voices but if I recall correctly, you were forced to use the new voices for 3.

5:20 damn right, I'm not buying it for that alone. TJ Rotolo is the one and only Frank West. Plus Frank screaming "wooohooooo" while jumping out worries me for the direction they're taking with his character, in the original he was much more reserved and serious, he hopped off that heli, had no idea what was going on and wanted to get to the bottom of things, in that trailer, it's like Frank sees it all as a fun day out. It's like they saw the intro to sandbox mode in Off the Record and went with that for the intro.
Frank screaming “wooohooooo” is present in the original as well, how does that mean the direction is gonna be any different? Its just the trailer tone is dramatized, doesn’t mean the direction of the character is going to be unfaithful.
Frank does hit a woohoo in the original. I just restarted yesterday after the announcement. I personally think that it sucks that TJ isn't coming back because he IS Frank West, but the new guy doesn't sound too bad. What I'm worried about is if they are taking this serious and not pulling a Resi 3 Remake with it. Which I do think they learned their lesson on that. Honestly every remake they've put out so far and even new numbered titles like Resident Evil 8 have had recasts for voices anyway. It just seems the direction they are taking with their legacy series as of late.
@@michaelhunt6920 I think its very unlikely they pull a RE3 Remake and cut content, due to it being considered a “deluxe remaster”. If anything I’m more optimistic of them adding bonus content (which could be confirmed due to the recent art that has a rocket launcher present). I am wishful that they do not cut anything, but I do believe erotica could be toned down or cut entirely due to the updated ESRB, I don’t care at all about that but I know some will be ridiculous and act like its a dealbreaker.

I was excited until I saw what they did to Frank. not the original actor and they made him noticeably uglier and goofier.
If Capcom had a good reason for not bringing TJ back (I.e. scheduling conflict or TJ himself declined) then i can let the voice change slip. I just dislike when actors get replaced for seemingly no reason other than saving money on newer (and likely cheaper) actors.

Not having TJ back as frank is really sad to hear, I dont know if theyre trying to make it tie into DR4 (because it sounds an awful lot like the hank east voice) or if they just have some sort of vendetta against TJ but its still a huge loss either way, TJ's voice was one of a kind and to see it be replaced by the same hollywood gruff comedy relief voice that hank east had doesnt really make me hopeful that the original games spirit is still intact.
