What a run! That was quite satisfying to see it all come together and take down the (true) final boss, and a nice bonus reward for winning is not having to face the terrible might of Freesnow!
bombom is CRAZY. her alone in a row and recalling her to heal her has worked great for me. especially on clunker builds with bom. please give her a try!
The fact that you are good enough to just never get punishment from all your greed is crazy. This game is much too big brain for me to ever play myself lmaoo
@@Retromation Yeah thats definitely a very cool thing about this game. Even if you could pretty easily win a fight it rewards you if you try to figure out the most optimal way instead of just throwing damage everywhere.
I feel like there must be something after the frost jailer. Either now or will be added later. Like there must be something behind that wooden fridge door lol Also i hope you dont stop the series until you have fun trash build. Looking forward that the most
I had a smackback frenzy build that absolutely obliterated everything in the game (x8 frenzy.) Teeth was really my only main concern. God I love this game and the busted builds you can make lol. Steam reviewers are high on something I swear. It hurts to see such a great game get hit with mixed reviews because people try to play the game too fast like StS.
Devs kinda hurt themselves. I read some review that this is like starting STS on tier 15-20 and true imo. I haven't played much sts but it is like higher levels of monster train. But imo, most undeserved mixed steam review on steam
@@cryptorcd9352 it's hard sure, but people saying it's unfair or too rng reliant are just wrong imo. You can plan far more turns in advanced in Wildfrost than you can in most other deck builders, and people just want to play fast and loose, cry when they make a mistake, and then blame the game. 🙃
NO WAY that very leader I used today! Just before watching this, it was an op snow build with yuki, snow dog and the snow cloud guy, broke the game as everything couldn’t move or attack and yuki just got op as hell but so funny seeing the same leader I just used, I beat the first bell with them
I love this game, i really just think it’s main flaw (aside from being a bit hard for casual players who normally expect a game they can beat) is that there is actually very little content come. Like with only 6 different bosses and that i ran into every companion very quickly really does feel a bit unfulfilling. Eventually the game just becomes too samey
My main gripe with Bigfoot is the fact that it has 7 damage and can show up 4 times in one fight. If it wasn’t aimless, it would be much more manageable.
Just came to say that my last run I won was a sliver away from imminent peril. I was fighting those dang demon cats in the ice cave, everything had thorns 3, and silly ol' me allowed my hero to widdle down to three hearts! He was up next to attack and there was nothing I could do to stop him from killing himself! Until I realized... I have a Heartmist Station, if I could do zero damage to my hero, then maybe he'll heal! And that's exactly what happened, I poured this oil container on him, dealing zero damage, and it worked! He survived and was the last man standing. Phew! This game is hard, but as long as you can problem solve, you'll be okay most of the time. Great video btw. Love watching people play this beautifully cute, gut-wrenching, game. Cheers
I love Bombom, she is amazing at killing enemies in the backrow, and she is also a very good tank do to having the largest healthpool in the game. The big thing to remember about her is that she. The Big thing about her though is she relies heavilly on recalling companions, both herself and allies
He's not really CRAZY powerful or anything, BUT I'd like to see you go with Blunky sometime - the point is to basically play him, absorb a hit, shuffle him back and repeat. Works especially well if you ring the bell early, which works well with a strategy based on a few good item cards, especially with some noomlin in the deck.
I think you're in a tough spot. On one hand, not doing the final fight makes for quicker videos and I think you've mentioned that generally aiming for 45 min - an hour per episode of something is your goldilocks zone. On the other hand, this game makes you fight yourself at the end and you make good builds, and I also know you've said on other series that episodes where you win perform better. Good luck striking the balance, being a content creator sounds tough!
I've found Bombon to be pretty busted in early to mid-game, because you can manipulate your rows or recall units so that Bombon is on a row by themselves to mitigate the downside. A 20 HP/7 Attack Barrage is a complete package by itself and well-worth the downsides; even just getting one attack and blocking 13-ish damage before recalling does a lot for a lot of decks. Although, yeah, Bombon has some issues scaling due to your rows getting clogged after a point. It also (funnily enough) is considered a Sacrifice if that matters for your deck.
Oooh i could see him be good with sacrifice deck to kill units fast without spending cards. Do the x2 attack when unit is sacrificed trigger twice if you kill 2 units in the same turn? That could be fun
Freesnow just rolled up with some tea, a shrubby hedgehog, a girlfriend, and girlbossed so hard anyone who even breathed in her direction imploded, and that's amazing. A toast to Freesnow, and I certainly agree that fighting her in frost guardian form would be utterly terrifying, and even a potential softlock!
This is going to be the episode I show someone when they say the game is unfair. Is it hard? oh goodness yes. Is it unfair? Outside 1 enemy (that hits as hard as the secret final boss with Aimless and can spawn 3-4 in a row. Hate Bigfoot.) thats just... not accurate. And I was sure, after you lost both units, you wouldn't beat the guardians. Yet here you are after one heal, setting you up to take just enough damage to win it all. Congrats on the win and have another comment for the algorithm!
5:50 i know pinkberry juice is great but honestly i might have gone for the goat totem. Applying demonize when an enemy attacks on a build focusing on a smackbck hero pretty much just translates to "double the hero's damage". I'm still watching along tho so you may get a similar idea later.
I learned my lesson about making a card too powerful. Took me forever to kill it. What can you do against smackback, barrage, 3posion,3demon. The answer is frenzy snow, with a super low cooldown. Thanks RNG. I got an apply3 snow 4cooldown hero with frenzyx2. And that's how i finally beat the monster i created.
Hey reto, now that youre really well into the game, what do you think they can balance/implement to make the game even better? Loving the runs, loving this game!
I do agree that bigfoot is very overtuned in stats. The fact that it's aimless is the worst because you could be running a team with one high hp ally, and several other low hp allies. Losing one ally can spell an immediate loss. The only way to "Block" it is to snow it to stall or reduce it's attack. Other aimless enemies are fine because they can be dispatched easily. Bigfoot has too much hp to do so before the first rotation.
Now, I'm not sure how or even if this would work, but at 1:02:40, would putting the critical trinket on Lumin Vase also let you quad the Blaze Tea, but give you quad Lumin Vase uses on other cards too?
isnt the redrawbell better for lots of noomlin? noomlin dont count down for the redraw bell. If you have to keep hitting the bell anyways, then you didnt necessarily get a benefit out of the noomlin.
I wonder why you said Solo Carry God when all the fights where a team effort... then I reached the end. The hell. Smackback with Fury and Demonize is really reeaaaaaaaaally strong
When you had defeated the TRUE BOSS, the next Guardian will be reverted back to the original Frost Guardian. What happens then, if you grab again the Lumin Vase then beat it for the next time? Just curious..
Nothing, for reference using this run Freesnow takes the place of the current guardian, but if you beat the boss it goes back to the base version. So if you keep beating the True Boss you never have anything but the base guardian.
@@Retromation i see.. then there are several things to do left: 1. "Feed the Beast" achievement: feed Consumables to Munchers. Idk how many you need to feed it 2. Get all achievement and tasks (Let's go Sir Reto i know you can do it!), and 3. 'Vanquished' all leaders? ps: so far this is the best series i've been enjoying.. thank you, dear kind sir for giving us such entertainment.
Does anyone know if someone has tried to use The Lumin Vase on one of the charms in the top left? It just seems like something that might be a easter egg to me.

I love watching Retro cosplay a Spike Wall

Hey retromation I like your wild frost videos and like the game. It’s just a great card/ turn bass game honestly
the amount of bonkers synergies in this game is so cool to see! hope to see more of this game!
You can use the grabber to move cards in your deck. This helps for the cards that do criticals
Loved the casual "the game's all RNG though.." to top a genuinely legendary performance😂
Well played!
Your combos are off the roof! Great run, great series!
This was awesome, and Freesnow is quite the awesome name. So much so that i'm considering naming my next D&D character this way.

How do you get crown on 1st companion at 1st battle?
How does Booshu start with a crown? Is that something I haven't unlocked yet?
Hard mode gives it to you
just curious, if you had 2 mimics in one row could they set each other off? surely not, a break like that would be to obvious
They wouldn't for the same reason that 2 smackback units don't loop
I think "trigger" and "attack" are coded as different events in the game, as the specific reason why combos don't happen.
Question for everyone whos played the demo AND full game:
