Thank You Thank You for the great instructions! I needed to replace one of the blackout decals on my 22 yr old Dakota and your video gave me the guidance, tips n' tricks that I needed. The middle-down, middle-up and warming with fingers to wrap the edges made for a perfect install. And the little bits of singing in your video stuck with me as I did my install so I did it with a smile and took my time as you suggested. Appreciate You!!

Sure if I ever get another black out tape install. Usually it’s just elbow grease and some adhesive remover liquids

I have to replace one on my ecosport, what brand of adhesive remover do you recommend to take the old one off?

Should take it off with heat gun

  • @Kradle
    @Kradle 2 года назад

I tried my hand at it and the edges folded over but wouldn't adhere at all to the inside of the door. Heat gun didn't help as it just shrunk it too much. Temp was dropping by the time I did it so I'm thinking it was too cold for the glue. I ended up taking it to the dealer to do it and they did a "meh" job...some bubbling at the bottom and it's misaligned and folded over on itself at the top. So I'm thinking I'm gonna wait till the warm months here and try myself again. I want perfection lol. I also think I'll use a squeegee wrapped in a microfiber cloth cuz I noticed using a hard plastic squeegee put a bunch of swirl marks into the tape

I had initially started with the squeegee with the cloth on it I personally don’t like how the squeegee shifts a lot while trying to handle it. My tip for when using the heat is simply to work it and don’t just let hit one spot otherwise it will cause shrinkage. I primarily use the heat when I’m ready to fold the blackout tape so it doesn’t lift. It’s just patience and a little practice. I’ve messed my fair share of them back in the day. Hope this helps and good luck 👍

@@AutoWizard94 Thanks bro! I'm gonna order some rubber non-scratch squeegees for my next attempt. I'm also gonna pick up a 3M rubber eraser wheel to remove all the old adhesive. I wish I could just have you do it lmao. I went to the service manual for Subaru and they say to use a hairdryer instead of an industrial heat gun to warm up the tape. Personally, I'm just gonna wait a couple months when it gets hot out, I'm hoping that will be enough heat by itself.

    Hello Auto Wizard!
This is Nove from AISKITS, I watched your channel it’s really exciting and impressive.
This is a newly launched LED headlight! You can see this LED headlight, is not cool?it is our latest development of a product!
In the United States, there are many classic cars, they are our closest partners! Now they may need some upgrades to accompany us better.
Replacing and upgrading our headlights does more than making driving safer. They improve the look of your vehicle as well as its performance. LED bulbs have a lower power pull on your vehicle’s battery and system. They also give our vehicle a fresh and new feel with bright white light.
I was wondering if you could do a share for it on your RUclips:
    • Introduction
    • Overview of features
    • Actual driving footage with the bulbs
    • Amazon link on the description for viewers interested in buying the product."
Please let me know if this is OK with you. Really looking forward to working with you.
    Best wish,
    Nove
