Marshall needs to do some lightweight modified 50w amps! JCM 2204 and 2553 are long discontinued and these old 50w amps were big and heavy weight. Friedman, Magnatone, Bogner, Mezzabarba make mod Marshalls, lightweight, smaller size, two channels, efficient loop effects. What is Marshall waiting for?
Sounds great and happy Marshall did this but…..lol…..the price?! This amp is PCB unlike the 1959ms and it’s over $3k US. The JVM (flagship of the line) is 4 channels and much more complicated to manufacture, made in England and $1899 US new 🤡🤷🏼♂️
As mentioned, although someone wouldn't necessarily buy this amp for its clean channel, would you say this could still be a good basis for a pedal platform when using the clean channel?
@@adamnesbitt11 Maybe you're talking about the 2205/2210, the JCM800 with two channels. But the most famous JCM800 are 2203/2004 and have just one channels, and not the best clean.
It's like we are back in the 70s and trying to get more distortion or over drive.....this seems very behind the power curve unless you only play classic rock
Hardly any gain. Probably you need a distortion pedal with that one. Too bright sounding as well. Either the eq settings needs adjusting or it's dull sounding. My Laney GH100L from the 90s with simplly destroy this One.
Congratulations Marshall 🎊🥂 on winning BEST IN SHOW at The Winter NAMM Show 2025! 🎸⚡🎛🔊🎶
Wow....Nice Looks like there following Friedman's lead with the switches.
I want this amp. It impressed me
I’m super excited about the mid boost the most
Amazing a little too late but better than never
that's the one. the holy grail amp

Yup I got a 2015 2203x & had the loop upgraded with the headfirst amplification one. Night & day difference.
I was surprised with the price which is almost twice as a regular 800. I would get an Victory super sheriff instead, also made in UK

it should have a footswitch to control the boost at least.

The JCM800 has a great clean channel
