Congratulations on finally finishing it, after all this time! I'm glad to be a part of such a project. I enjoyed making the base for the UI. This was a pleasant and educational experience for me. I would be happy to help you with other projects if needed.
If you can simulate an actual economy using data from a real world situation. You could then try different policies. Before implementing them in the real world.
Excellent and entertaining video, and congratulations on getting to the line some point before the finishing line, great to see you pre-finish the project!!
What did you say at the end? "Six months ago I was heavily GOAL focused, unmotivated, ...oh, and uh, I had a beard." Goal focused, and unmotivated.... hmmm. GIRL focused... and unmotivated, maybe. I mean, where did you learn to speak english anyway - England or something? lmao. Explain yourself!! Seriously though, great video. Videos I should say. I was even about to give you a sub, bro, but then I was not able to, and that's when I used my powers of deduction to figure out that I already had. Subscribed. Thanks for the inspiration.
rust is not a functional language. also it's not particularly impressive to build a game with such a language given only the backend code was written in rust.
Rust definitely takes some inspiration from functional languages, and has some of their features, but I wouldn't call all of Rust a functional language
Really interesting idea. I tried the game, but I am a little lost as to what I'm supposed to do in it? Is the game open source? I'd like to try to contribute and see if the game can be improved in any way... I love the idea, I wanted to build something similar as well. Maybe this can turn into a much more interesting simulator
I'm glad you liked it! We really wanted to continue this for longer, but sadly the deadline came before we could finish the new version acting on Jonas' feedback. We might come back to it in future, who knows - also github is linked in description :)
You see, it is already impossible to realistically simulate capitalism (all simulations in general are full of flaws), and we kinda live in it. Imagine how difficult it would be to simulate a system that has never happened in human history and is not economically possible, that would be the ultimate level of masochism
@@nothingtoospecial777 I think that in general terms yes, but it would still be impossible to simulate capitalism because the Austrian economy requires the use of many things that computers do not have, such as emotions and needs. You can simulate these things to some extent, but getting anything accurate or precise I think is impossible. But I also think that the use of praxeology, for example, can be advantageous to at least increase the accuracy of current simulations not only of capitalism but of any economic models, since human action is made for a general analysis and not just of capitalism.

So.. what was the video about? All I can grasp from the vid, he is struggling, that's all. No gameplay showcase, no simulation demo. Struggle/10
Do you seriously have to go around rating things out of 10?
hey that's pretty motivating. congrats:)
FINALLY HES BACK
I just wanted to see if this had been done, but the fact that it was done in Rust makes me extremely happy.

Weird question, but why did you change the thumbnail every 5 mins Lmfao
How can I see the full Jonas review? What has gone wrong and how is a new framework an improvement? Other than that, it's an amazing video
