Well using "The Message" is one thing. I assume they purposefully chose that to actually make it somewhat difficult, but honestly the lack of knowledge of Lamentations (not among everyone) kinda made me sad.

Literally before I started watching this video I said, I will get 100% on this.... unless they use the message 'translation'. I say 'translation' because it is not actually a translation. It is a paraphrase. A translation would mean that they looked at the actual manuscripts.

It was the prophet Jeremiah that wrote Lamentations, NOT Solomon (he wrote Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon). I got most of these correct, even though I don't know Taylor Swift music.

I think The Message version is more for reference. It's more of a paraphrase of other versions, not a translation. So still useful to an extent

I'm not usually a party pooper but its so embarrassing that they don't know squat about the Bible
The first mistake was using The Message. That is not the word of God . Even the author has been quoted to say it should not be used for serious studying of the word. its a book full of terrible paraphrasing and abominable translation.
They weren't using it to study the Word of God. They were using it to play a game where people guessed between whether the words were the words of Lamentations or the words of a 21st century song writer. If they had used an actual translation that was accurate for study, it would have been blatantly obvious which quotes were from which source, hence it would not have been a game!
Lamentations was written by Jeremiah around/after the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, the temple and everything they knew (by the Babylonians), the time of the exile...so it's normal that Lamentation is so emotionally sad... It's like people came and destroyed your city and all the places of your childhood memory with the most brutal manner (worse than the coronavirus situation) so the lady who keeps on saying Solomon should calm down a bit and understand the context in which the book was written first...
