The prices have changed at the thrift stores but so has everything else in general. It is my hobby but Why do i have to spend more on a item i took the time to find just because i have a larger income. The real issue here is not the people that are buying second hand is the stores taking advantage of charity and donations to make a profit. They are the real oppressors and should be held accountable. The message that for some reason me buying second hand is taking something away from another human with less income is ludicrous. They literally have MILLIONS of items to choose from and so many still end up polluting the earth.Thred Up is not cheap and guess were they get their items from.
Thank you for addressing the different perspective and sharing the idea of looking for alternatives when thrifting isn’t a necessity for you. Too often I’ve seen people ignore the fact that it makes things difficult for those that have no choice and just saying “how is it wrong it’s good for the earth” as if that’s the only factor.
I think about how I use to buy tons of thrifted clothing and cringe 😫 there are consequences to over consumption outside of the environment that most ppl overlook. I’m just trying to do my part to keep ppl educated and informed. As long as you’re willing to learn the mindset change will come. We’re all a work in progress 💚

Thrift store gentrification...Wow! Yes, it's definitely a thing, I've noticed a huge change in price about 5 years ago, but never really thought about pricing out the people that Thrift bc there's no other option.

Hey KIA. Speaking of the "gentrification of thrifting". Not sure if you are aware, but it is really difficult for plus size women to find nice/fashionable clothing to wear in a professional setting. Please be cognizant of that when you think about buying larger/plus sizes in order to get that "oh so hip" look of "oversized " clothing. Still love your videos, though.

For the longest time people were looked down on for thrift wear, and now hobby thrifters are making it harder for people who still use it as a necessity. New clothes are expensive! Love you and your videos ! But I think you and everyone else who has concerns needs to do research on thrifting
gentrification. First off there is no such as gentrification within the thrift community. There are tons I mean ton of clothing at the thrift stores. Trust me there is not a shortage of clothing. As someone who has a small vintage shop I encourage everyone to start thrifting more. Thrifting helps saves the planet ! Like seriously 🧡 Also do you know most thrift stores have to send off or throw away a lot of clothing because it doesn’t even get bought. If anyone concern would be brought up within thrifting I think it would be that not enough people are thrifting or not enough people buy from smaller vintage shops. It takes so much time to curate Thrifted items and I wish more people could invest in sole person vintage shops instead of larger companies like thread up. You should do a haul on shipping at small vintage online boutiques you would be helping the planet and small business owners !

The light purple lilac n' brown are the new blacks for the designers in Paris and Italy. The places making modern design clothes they use modern style lots. French is thought to be elegant style maybe. But the ritzy designers were doing so much black for modern art. And we once saw a movie star in a lilac dress. Their clothes are designed for the rich people- dress up dresses. She's probably that very very famous movie star. We don't know who she is, but we talked to her on the phone once, too. Our grandmother was freaking out and everything. She said that she's a real famous movie star n' all. But she had that on. And she doesn't want all black probably. The movie stars from the 40's. She actually thought that we knew who she was and we have no idea who she is. She probably looked great in the photos so they put her in the films. Someone else said she was very famous, too and knew who she was. We don't know.
The last skirt looks modern styled but needs more length coz midi length is known to look ugly. It's ugly and people revoleted when it first came out in the 70's and refused to buy those.

Do you use the cut off portion of the blazer? Like a pocket belt or a strapless top? The items you shown in this video is totally giving me hope that we will get continuous warm temps soon. I really like the blouse you wearing during narrative and that lilac blazer. I did some thrifting for the mother's day weekend and picked up some really nice linen items.
