If they don’t get Soto, go get Walker and try to snag Bregman for 3B. Slide jazz back to 2B and then try to get Sasaki and some bullpen help. Then put the Martian in CF, judge in RF and pray Dugie has a bounce back year.
You guys want to pick up players who are better at fielding but can no longer hit. No thanks. Kay is right in that Arenado isn't aging like Donaldson. In that Arenado is aging much worse. He's already well into decline at age 32, Donaldson's decline started at age 35. Jeff McNeil HR totals last 5 years 4,7,9,10,12 and has never had more than 23 in a season. To think he would hit any more than 10-15 at Yankee stadium would take a lot of drug use. Do better.
I think Arenado would be a good trade if they would eat some salary. He’s still one of the best defensive players in the game, and he batted .272 this year. HR’s and RBI’s dropped, but the Cards were a lot worse this year. Still had 23 doubles too. I agree McNeil is a terrible option though.
At least at 33 he still has the flexibility to play a bit better or even return to form. By donaldsons age he was pretty much locked into a decline and it was a very steep decline, almost nobody saw it coming to be fair. And looking at his whole career his exit velocity wasn’t that fast. (He had like an average of 92 MPH off his bat when he won MVP in 2015) so you throw those into the mix along with a shoulder injury at 35-36 and you are cooked my friend. Don’t think it’s quite the same scenario as I don’t see why arenado wouldn’t be able to hit over 20 hrs next year, not like he’s had surgery or anything. His team is also trash so maybe his confidence and morale is lower. I wouldn’t trade for him though unless I was paying like 10M per for him.
@bigpictureguys8415 how can a team field a competitive team when one player is breaking the bank. Why should anty team have to pay incredible penalties going over the @MLB threshold of fees and still be able to field a competitive team? It's not possible.
How much is too much money? Remember their are 24 other players on the team. Why are you so happy to pay more for tickets, pay ten dollars for a hot dog, twenty dollars for a beer, fifty dollars to park? You think @JaunSoto gives a shit about you? You can't see the game is being destroyed by greed. The financial penalties @MLB will put on the Yankees organization will be tremendous going over the cap. Why ?
Soto wants the 💸, He doesn't care about being a Yankees, He already has a ring, He doesn't nees Yankees. Yankees fans have to get over their head, Thinking that Soto is looking for the privilege ro be a Yankees, That was in the past.
Well don't let us get in the way of this whole narrative that you're fabricating over here 😅. I assure you that the Yankee fanbase isn't thinking about the situation along the lines that you suggested. It actually much more simple than that. The team has the ability to make him an offer in the area that he's looking for and they have a slight edge in that he's already played a season here and experienced what it's like and he had a career season in the process. This is going to be the last contract he signs in all likelihood and leaving the known for the unknown will play a role to some extent. Obviously there's no guarantees but NY is in a good position to retain him.
@@robertcropley7714 hot take - I don’t think this will be the last contract he signs. I believe he will have multiple opt outs littered throughout the contract as other boras agents have had. I believe he will opt out by age 28-29 or even 30 if the market continues to increase. He will not stay at 45-50 M if there is someone out there being paid 50+ he will use his prime years as a way to leverage it into a new offer to fit the market. Especially if he wins an mvp or World Series in the next couple years.
@@erikprimitivo5071 I could see that, there would be quite a few variables I'd imagine in addition to the ones you mentioned. His overall health and injury history or lack of and the overall condition of which ever team he eventually signs with at the time when the opt out presents itself. Is the team heading in the right direction or not etc. He also may have to do something like that because this upcoming contract won't quite reach the level of Ohtani's IMO.
Good luck with pinning your hopes on Arenado. Talk about sinking like a stone. This guy has sold out for pull side home runs and only managed 16 this year. His homers have declined four straight years. I say go for it. 😂

No thanks. Why would you want another streaky hitter with a middling average and tons of strikeouts? We have enough of those types on the team already. I won't even get started on his lackluster defense. So basically you would be paying for homeruns. He hit 34 HRs with 172 strikeouts. The strikeouts are the reason why he only had 88 runs batted in. No thanks. Let someone else pay him.

Yes the yanks did it first but why not label those doing it now?
Yankee fans so salty 😂 now Soto isn't worth it 😂
Not what he said, he said Soto isn’t worth waiting til March for when you have other holes to fill
@brendan3297 arod and judge were both mention are better which is 🧢 arod was drugged up and judge is over rated
@@Vizzy285 now you’re moving the goalposts lol you clown

I hope no team signs Soto which should be done more often in free agency. Give him the Bauer treatment. THESE players are not worth that kind of money
tbh Tampa has a better shot of getting Soto then Toronto and that's saying a lot about Toronto nobody goes there people will sign with the rays.
Tampa trades dude when they get to ARB2 lmao they're not signing him
I'd rather use some of that Soto money for Roki Sasaki if he's posted
He can only get 5 million max per season because of international rules. Hes going to the dodgers per rumors anyways
I agree but I'm sure just about every japanese player now days is going to want to play with ohtani
He also wants to play for the Dodgers, Manfred needs to do something about them buying everyone, and buying this "championship."
To pitch every 6 days??😅😅
Bregman? No thank you. Trade for Arenado
Stupid money to play a game
big peener
Michael Kay is insufferable.
Yeah, i remember him from the 90’s when he covered the knicks he was very likable, what happened?
Bad take
Yet u still but yes network
Yes he’s such a blowhard and is obsessed with defending the Yankees
Why?
The love of money is the root of all evil
Remind me again, when was the last time you turned down money?
@bigpictureguys8415 how can a team field a competitive team when one player is breaking the bank. Why should anty team have to pay incredible penalties going over the @MLB threshold of fees and still be able to field a competitive team? It's not possible.
@@leoaz4667 moving the goal posts brother.
Why ?
he's gone - him and his pimp, Boras are whoring themselves around the league - pathetic.
as a dodger fan, hope he stays in New York. Preferably the Yankees.
Rather spend 60/ yr, on pitching and Pete, great player but not unlimited money OR time…..
Soto wants the 💸, He doesn't care about being a Yankees, He already has a ring, He doesn't nees Yankees. Yankees fans have to get over their head, Thinking that Soto is looking for the privilege ro be a Yankees, That was in the past.
Yankee* not Yankees when talking about one player on the team
Or teoscar Hernandez I think he's a free agent 😅
Soto is going to the Mets or Giants. The Yanks need to move Volpe to 2B bec he does not have a SS arm. Keep Chaz at 3B and get a SS. Cabrera can play the position too!
A-Rod was way better , yes we didn’t know PEDs but it’s not even close 😊
Soto without juice>Arod with juice
@@User-b9q2zstatistically incorrect
all i know the Yankees can't spend too much time on this when they have to fill holes on this team for 25.
Meet hal .give me a break. He never saw him a whole year
Mets new kings of ny
Probably..... and these clowns are acting as if it's all about money. There's always the human element. Soto is smart. Acting like it's all about money just raises the competition to be the highest bidder. I expect he stays in NY..... and Cohen has more to offer..... money and roster.
Get walker and Bregmsn and Santander and one pitcher. World Series 2025 yankees
You should get Walker, Adames and Santander. Let Adames play 3rd
George Steinbrenner would have told Soto to leave. We aren't paying you that money. You're fired!
Arenado 🤦🏽♂️ how can someone who watches baseball for a living be so clueless
Kay is willing Soto not to re-sign.
As a yankees fan, he will go to the mets.
Yea

i would love Alonso with the Yankees he's pretty solid and cheaper then Soto
Soto is so much better than Alonso lol
You know nothing about baseball 😅
To do what? 😂
Anyone who says Alonso over Soto is a 🤡
Soto to the Red Sox would be amazing
🤮 🤮 they still would stink 😂
literally thought about that today not a red sox fan but Soto would look nice in that red sox jersey
