    Hi, Tom! I accidentally came across this video and was so happy to see the Il Meneghello decks in your collection. I got the Vacchetta a couple of weeks ago. I knew it was a beautiful deck, but holding it in my hands I could really appreciate it. Really, the card stock and the colors are stunning. Really happy with my purchase.

    I'm heading into hospital for major surgery in a few days, and happened to see a friend posting about this deck yesterday, so I asked her about it (but found the site on Google anyway before I even heard back from her).
    I live in the UK, so I'm hoping that I'll return home to this deck when hospital releases me. Watching this video has me even more excited for it now!

    I just LOVE this deck! The colours, the cardstock, the imagery.....just everything! I got it by accident on Ebay for next to nothing. I had no idea what it looked like but because it was Il Meneghello at such a bargain I just took a risk - and I am so thrilled I did! One of my favs. Thanks for sharing your love too!

    Love this deck. There is also a Spanish version of the Vachetta called 'Tarot Renacentista de Giovanni Vacchetta' available on Amazon. This is a re-coloured version with Spanish titles but it is a mass market deck so easily available. The Il Meneghello version is the most authentic but for everyday use I prefer the Spanish Vachetta - the re-colouring just does it for me.

    I’m so happy! I just ran across this video and I recently purchased the Vanchetta ‘by accident…sort of’ I’m new to tarot and I missed the La Corte deck when it was released a few years ago but I was doing some research and found that they have done a 3rd (?)printing with a run of 2000. So I ordered it but when they quoted the shipping I figured I better invest in another deck to make the shipping worthwhile. I liked the name of the deck so I bought. Definitely retail therapy moment I do not want to give the impression that I can afford to buy Italian decks because the name sounds good LOL🤣! I am excited though. My decks arrive tomorrow (2/2/2021)👏

    I have been admiring Il Meneghello decks vicariously via RUclips channels for what seems like forever and have had a link to their decks on tarotbg in my bookmarks folder for... 6 months plus. I do not own any historical reproductions but when I do, it'll be an Il Meneghello, and I do just love that la Corte dei Tarocchi. Don't like the backs but the art is so charming I'm totally won over by it anyway.

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  7 лет назад

      The backs are surprisingly easy to get used to on the Corte... luckily they're kind of so muted that you don't really think of it. But the fronts are soooooooo lovely!!!! I heart that deck!

      YES!!! This is my life's mission! 🤣 Yeah, the colors are pretty amazing. When I started reading with pip decks, I thought, "oh, good. I'll only need a Marseille deck..." Little did I know.

    Yum! Love all of them. I have the Tarot of the Master that is the mass version of Vachetta tarot by Lo Scarabeo. I chopped the ugly green borders and am actually really happy with it. This version is stunning though. So colourful!

      It's so colorful. I've heard really good things about Tarot of the Masters, though, so I'm tempted to take a peek at it, if I can find a cheap copy.

      I love hermit cards too - that is one of the first cards I try to see before buying a deck. Nice thing about a pip deck: the pip cards, that are often deemed as "scary", like ten of swords, or three of swords, are pretty benign in image. My husband, for example, won't get so flipped out, perhaps. ok - you and myself have talked me into ordering now. LOL.

    Eek this makes me so excited for my II Meneghello Visconti Sforza, Tarocco NeoClassico, Soprafino & back up la Corte Dei Tarocchi! Lol slowly collecting the decks! Love the simplicity of the Neoclassico & the artwork/shape of the La Corte! I just realized a friend of mine has this deck that we was showing me the other night! Bwaha cuz I recognized the hermit, death, devil & tower cards! This is a very neat looking deck! Definitely adding it to my list! Lol side note....I’d not wanna be that woman at the bottom of the wheel in the wheel of fortune card 😛

    The links in this Vaccheta to some cards in the Mantegna continues to fascinate me. Diana as the Moon and Apollo as the Sun as well as that very static horseless Chariot. Those makes me think of Neoplatonism for some reason and tarot of the Sevenfold Mystery. I do love Il Meneghello's decks. Addicted even 😬 Thanks for sharing!

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  7 лет назад

      Yes :) These points are probably buried under a long video about the Mantegna :D You may have to fast forward a lot :D Let me try to see if I can time stamp it for you :D PS: Otherwise I will just do a short video especially for you Mr Tom Benjamin, next year after the holidays :D

    I should not watch your videos because now I am tempted to buy this deck. I trimmed and edged the Tarot of the master and it is beautiful but this coloration is even more stunning.The trimmed TotM is very nice to put in your backpack to take it everywhere. It has that old Italian feel and because I trimmed it, it has this organic (read: inperfect) charm. And it is cheap and easy to find so no stress about losing it. I recommend the TotM to everyone. I don’t need to buy the Il Meningello deck. These colours though....... 😋Aaaaagh

    Does anyone have an explanation as to why there seems to be a “typo” on the numbering for the 6 of swords on the Vanchetta deck. The left side of the Roman numeral is V instead of VI.

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  5 лет назад

      Never noticed that! Probably just a mistake, but I like it.

  • @ConnieIsMijnNaam

    I love these decks, my only concern is the square corners... Is there any special care you need to worry about to keep those corners/the cards from getting ruined?

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  6 лет назад +1

      Not really -- I use them pretty regularly, and -- aside from getting "bitten" by them occasionally, they hold up well and they shuffle well!

  • @MrVladimirfranz

    Hi Tom, I have a question about the Tarocco Soprafino....It's about the minor suits of Swords.There is a weird thing going on....All the other TDM decks gives us the sword(in the middle of the card) upright for the odd number and here judging by the position of the roman numbers it's seems that the sword should be downward for the upright position of the card...it's really confusing...please any toughts on this matter....thanks

    • @thefoolsjournal
      @thefoolsjournal  6 лет назад

      That's a good question -- I can't remember who, but I do remember someone bring this up. I think that, in a sense, a sword would be "upright" if it were pointed down, since that's how they're stored. Of course, you could make that case that a sword in storage is a sword-in-waiting, right? But ultimately, I think what matters most is what you know going in which way they're looking at the cards you're working with that that moment. And with pip-style decks, like the Marseille or the Soprafino, I often put a little put in the bottom right corner. That way I can quickly see whether a pip is upright or reversed without having to think too much about it. Not sure if that's helpful or if I misread the question. Let me know.

    • @MrVladimirfranz
      @MrVladimirfranz 6 лет назад

      and how do you use your deck? side is the upper one? you follow the numbers or you go with the direction of the swords...I guess that they have changed the direction of the swords on purpose in this deck otherwise it is just a trick with the upside down numbers just as they are changing spellings and the way the roman numbers are written( the progressive numbering) in the replica decks...so it must be like a trade mark for marseille style decks to play with those kind of things....Or as a third option the deck is not ment to be read with reversals....Anyway i will have to choose how to use it, that's for sure...
