I have had this tool since 1998 as part of my tool kit for building indian leather crafts. truly indispensable. the ability to hand stitch items like leather and /or canvas is great. ...and the stitches are neat in appearance and strong.
What a great tool. I doubt I'd take it into the field but it would be very good for home when I need to work on heavier materials. Thanks for the info Troy.
I acquired a lot of my Granfather's things that were important to him and one of them being his 'The Speedy Stitcher' (still threaded and all needles and parts are there) and it is REALLY OLD! It still has the original instructions that are yellow/brown now, the original package (box) it came in and several spools of each size of thread. Wow! I had no idea these still existed! My Grandpa was such a cool man, with such cool tools and things I've had to Google just to know what they are! Thank you for the great video explanation of this tool! Can't wait to see what other little gems he had that I display in one of his antique cabinets that he built waaaaay back when. #LoveThis #Awl #TheSpeedyTool #SpeedyTool #MissYou #Grandpa ♥️😘♥️
hey bro. my dad brought home puzzle rings for my brother and me from turkey. i took it apart once and couldnt get the damn thing back together. even with the instructions. i think i mightve left it at my folks house. now that stitcher is great for heavy duty stitching. like on nylon duty gear. i may need me one of those.
@DevilWearsMulticam the speedystitcher website has replacement materials and needles. Looks like they have recently upgraded there website too and added a new "fine" needle and varying grades of thread. I'de flick them a message but the waxed thread can be picked up at craft stores too.
@Hungerth Hi. It's a Maxpedition Proteus with a triad admin pouch, large radio kit and single mag pouch mounted to it. All by Maxpedition. I use blachhawk speed clips to secure everything. I don't mind you asking at all, we are all here to help each other out.
Thanks, A long time since I purchased it but If I recall right it came with one bent and one straight needle. The bent needle is used for different stitching situations. You could use it for stitching things like canvas sheeting.
@RoscoeBa Thx Ros. The Proteus that I have strapped to the front of my bike I did the big chop on, didn't retain the SRB's. But this one I wanted to leave the option there, just in case. Thx for watching.
@bigbubba5037 Yeah your right, the needle are really strong. The tool is promoted as a leatherwork tool as well. I dont think I mentioned it in the vid but the needles are great for digging slithers/splinters out of your skin, super sharp diamond tipped needles, also make great toothpicks ;)
@PavlovSandor Glad you liked the vid. Good eye spotting the puzzle ring, it's an 8 band. I've had it for a few years now. I have dropped it quite a few times and had to learn how to assemble it, each time is as hard as the last, i haven't done it for ages. You should get your ring and have another go at putting it back together.

Nice to see how you put the Speedy Stitcher to use. I just cut my Proteus strap off. Wise of you to stitch and retain the SRB. Nice vid, Troy.

Nice price, its good to have around thats for sure.
Good video. Good job on your stitching. How many needles come with the Speedy Stitcher and what is the bent needle used for. Thanks for sharing.

@AussieMark909 No Sweat. Thanks for Watching Mark
USA price is $16 - $30! but avoid the $10 ones
unrelated - but nice puzzle ring!
@woodsyowl1975 I could live with that but even the expensive stuff falls apart these days.
@inquisitivewolf Glad you enjoyed, thx for watching.
I use my fingers, and a needle and thread much faster and easier for webbing.
