I'd agree with sobelou, but from a video point of view could I suggest that one of the most important views to show is the one from the driver's seat, looking over the bonnet and three-pointed star onto the road ahead. Lots of really good reviewers forget that to give us the watcher a feel of what they're experiencing and describing. There's no doubt we would get a far great buzz if we got to appreciate what you're seeing. I'm no expert at this, but I drove Mercedes for many years and still remember the feeling of grandeur you experenced when you're driving an old one. Other than that, I'd sling your jacket in the boot but its a great start and I look forward to more. Thanks :)
Hey there. I really like your editing and I really like the idea of people starting up their own car channels. You seem to put a lot of effort into your videos and I genuinely think more people should watch this. I decided to subscribe and I hope all of my 1200 subscribers also get the message to check out your stuff as this video should pop up on every one of their frontpages. Good luck out there.
JackpodyDK Hey thanks, I really appreciate it! I've always loved videography and editing, but this is my first try at hosting a "show". I have already shot another review and am in the process of editing it. Hope you like the next one just as much!
AutoNauts - Suggestion. Put the grey blanket flopping around in the back in the wind, into the trunk. And oh yeah sunshine was perfect so next time open the trunk and the hood to see the engine perhaps. Dress up. Looking like a slob even if it was a family car detracts from the review. Otherwise nice to see such a well sorted car on the road.
That is a dream car of mine. Even though i drove one my late friend owned. It does concern me to hear you speak of the rarity of parts. Which of course means extremely expensive parts.
So proud of their user's manual but still featuring that abysmal steering wheel, LOL. In case this is original thank you to idiot first owner. Otherwise thank to the next idiot. Great car though...
TheGetawayer Hi Guido, I've commented on a few of your videos in the past under my KingPNW channel name. I've created a new channel called AutoNauts inspired by yourself and many others here on RUclips, which is dedicated to car reviews and car culture. I hope you'll give it a look, and maybe even subscribe!
Very enjoyable video, Joe, congrats ! Loved the shots, the editing and hearing your impressions. My dad actually came close to buying a 280SE Coupe back in the days, but ended up with something from Porsche :) Still he told me about this car and I find them very beautiful. I'll subscribe and look forward to more videos ! Greetings from germany, Guido
TheGetawayer While I love how the 280 SE 3.5 drives, I can't argue with a Porsche! If you don't mind my asking, what did he get? Ever since I owned and sold my 991, I have gradually become a Porschephile-- admittedly not as knowledgeable as yourself, but now I understand why they are considered such incredible machines! Thanks for the sub!
AutoNauts I'm a huge 997-fan so if the car is manual I would go for the 997. PDK wasn't that great on the 997, so if it had to be PDK it would be the 991
The most beautiful car of the 70s !!!.

Glad to see this tribute to one of the most (if not the most) gorgeous and elegant cabriolets ever produced. An ageless classic!

Good Job Bigdog 👍
WAY too much of the guy, not enough of the car.
Would have made a decent 4-minute video.
Michael Conrad This was my first video for Autonauts, thanks for the input!
Just Beautiful she is.
Jalal Malik Thank you, Jalal!
You described the 3.5 V8 as the "flagship motor" for Mercedes in 1971. Not true. The M100 holds that honor.
Douglas Kim Thanks, Kim!
Yes the grocer 600 (pullman) argumentaly the greatest luxury car ever to be produced
Flagship V8 maybe although owners of the 6+ litre engined cars might argue.
he said he has got another channel about restoration. anyone gets what it is called? thanks.
Thank
please switch the steering wheel to the original, the state that is now look just awfull
Agreed! Enjoyed the video otherwise, though.
Please hold the steering wheel at 9 or 10 o'clock instead of at 12 o'clock. That is not the proper grip.
adam jansson This is the steering wheel that came on the car when it was purchased, but thanks for your comment!
Douglas Kim Thanks for your comment, you must have a lot of free time!
It’s a gorgeous car, but I wouldn’t know since all you show is you driving.
Are you Joe King bro?
So proud of their user's manual but still featuring that abysmal steering wheel, LOL. In case this is original thank you to idiot first owner. Otherwise thank to the next idiot. Great car though...
Only thing left is getting rid of the hideous steeringwheel.
REALLY NICE.
I thought of these as old man cars in the past. I am 63 now. I change my mind. hahah
Very good review ; it shows that you did your homework. How about you do a review on the W123 , 300D , the turbo one ( 1981 to 1985 ) ?
According to DW program 'car world': This model had been choosen as the most gorgeous car in th 20th century...I agree with them.
Wow hearing the last info regarding this beauty really brought it into focus for me!
Excellent job my man 👍
I am not old. hahaha
I agree, the pre 2014 W212 is superior to later W212.
Can you please take some high res shots of this car and upload them. Would like to save some photos of this thing.
That is one beautiful car. Love the color. It is one of my favorite cars ever produced.

AutoNauts
He had a 911 Targa ( MJ 73 I think )...You can always go back to having a Porsche ;)
TheGetawayer
Since you're a more qualified Porsche expert, a quick question: 997.2 C4S vs 991 C2, both manuals, which would you take?
AutoNauts
I'm a huge 997-fan so if the car is manual I would go for the 997. PDK wasn't that great on the 997, so if it had to be PDK it would be the 991
how much ?
