    Andy, thank you for posting this video. It reminds me nice time I had in this dojo two years ago during my visit of Kumamoto. Pity we did not meet there :) Thank you for your comments in this video, it is big inspiration for me :)

    his hikiwaza has so much depth. i feel like the national team really sharpened up their hikiwaza for the world championship.

    The big disadvantage Nishimura has is there has been a lazer focus on his kendo. All his opponents have a ton of material to study in preparation to fight him.

    The reason to "celebrate" a point, is because referees outside of Japan are often so bad they need help to do theyr job. Celebrating is communication with the refrees when verbal communication is forbidden.
    Its obvious with the level of those referees, he doesnt need to celebrate a point to actually get it.

    I know you're focusing on the hole action of the ippon but did you notice the kote of minute 12:40 did not even hit kote?
