Actors E.G. Marshall, Harry Morgan, Art Baker, Jack Gardan, Jerzy Kaliszewski, Robert Vaughn, James Whitmore, Ed Flanders, Gary Sinise, David Patrick Kelly, Kerry Shale, and Christian Rodska have all portrayed President Harry S. Truman. Though I haven't seen some of the performances, I think that E.G. Marshall, Harry Morgan, Robert Vaughn, James Whitmore, Ed Flanders, and Gary Sinise have done the best job portraying President Harry S. Truman. Thanks For Uploading This Performance!!!!! ❤
Mr. Whitmore did a super job of Harry S. Truman. I thought I was witnessing the 2nd coming of Harry. Fantastic job of getting the mannerisms and the look just soo close to the image of Harry. He was my first president, as I was born in 1948. Very good research was done to put on such an entertaining show. I've always enjoyed James Whitmore as a greater actor. I'm glad I got to experience his performances on the stage in the movies.
I was 13 when I first saw this and it had a profound effect on me. I found a double album of the entire performance and listened to it with my parents/grandparents often.
I remember seeing this on HBO back in 1975. James Whitmore did a fantastic job. I don’t know whether this was intended as an impersonation or more of a lighthearted impression of President Truman. Regardless, it was very entertaining.
37:12 My favorite moment, when Truman discovers "the greatest counteroffensive weapon in warfare: CUSSING!!" I loved this show and James Whitmore's fantastic performance as Truman.
Was James Whitmore other than great in anything. I've seen him in no end of performances including a, what might be called minor motivation film when I worked for IBM, all of us were stunned by the performance. and there were a couple of minutes needed before we could comment. His singing voice in this was not as good as Oklahoma or Kiss Me Kate.

I saw this performance in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May, 1975.
I saw it in Atlanta about the same time
One of the greatest performances ever. I am a die-hard conservative republican, and Harry Truman is one of my heroes.

WOW! What a great portrayal and mannerisms done superbly by James W. He gave one hell of a performance.
Good way to speak today
Whitmore was a fine actor. Try to find his other one-man act, "Will Rogers, U.S.A." Even better.
I saw this in a Claremont, CA movie theater in early 1976. I was 14.
It is so much for a new deal Trumen into a self-reliance deal that you would not produce.
Truman, the most uncommon Common Man….and James Whitmore genius as Truman.
the common sense president

I loved this show and James Whitmore's fantastic performance as Truman.
Audio is very quiet. I have it turned up to max volume & am straining to hear it.
I had to use a you-tube audio extension.
I wish I knew if President Truman had any sons. Truman Elementary. Nevada MO!
right place, wrong time! Pre-SNL.
Great performance, but did they put a microphone up his nose? You can hear every time he inhales.
Psychic Hotlines....Charlie Murphy.
Was the character "Bubbles" created after this portrayal? 👀👀

I'll go one better. I thought he was sexy as hell. Especially in Battleground.
Sad story. Ended badly. I hear he got into some trouble with the law, spent time in prison and then ended up bagging groceries.
😂😂😂
Someone else followed in his footsteps but made it down to Mexico

What happened with the north koreans and the chinese in 1950? Did Harry run out of hell??
Ask MacArthur.
He can tell you everything that everybody ELSE did wrong.

Rather an inappropriate title
The word hell shouldnt be used!
That's how he spoke. Rap songs of today say worse 4 letter words.
He had even worse things to say about anyone who voted for Nixon .
Give 'em heck Harry just doesn't have the same ring.
🙄
That's the phrase people used, and how HST spoke. Try not to be such a dainty doily.
