Stumbled on Annette Strean singing the lead in "I Feel Love" fronting for The Blue Man Group. I fell in love with her immediately. Looked up her music and background. I've fallen in love with Venus Hum as well. Gathering everything I can - but I do that.

This kept reminding me of something.....but what? Then it clicked; when that bass line slams in at the chorus, this is a perfect James Bond movie theme. Which is probably how they wrote it. Try playing this over the trailer for Spectre, and tell me I'm wrong. At any rate, can't stop listening to it. Fantastic.

Great and lovely voice, somewhere between Bjork and Kate Pearson but in her own way :*

Rediscovered Venus hum on an old playlist - as fantastic as when I first discovered this unappreciated talented trio. So glad to have them back in my daily playlist - fighting for love is on top! Keep it up!

I immediately recognised this as the theme from the TV show Alias. I then wondered which came first. Alias premiered in 2001. This was released in 2004. Can anyone confirm if this was sampled from the Alias theme or was it written specifically for the show and then reused 3 years later? Mind you, when this was released Alias was in its 4th season that year.

Actually, neither. Yes, the song samples the harmonic bubbly bit from the Alias TV show, but the theme song for the show came first. I remember reading somewhere years ago that Venus Hum had permission from the company to use the song, and also from JJ Abrams. Also mentioned was something about the song being a bit inspired by Alias and Sydney, or perhaps from women superheroes in general. I don't remember where I read this or how or why, but you could probably do a deep dive into the old internet and find it. I think it was a music magazine article. Hope this helps. Either way, glad you're a fan of the group and of this song. Even twenty years later, this song and all their work remains fantastic.

Yes, JJ asked us to collaborate on this track. We did not have his publishing information at the time of posting.
