There are pockets of great vocals out there: Eunji from Apink is very good. Red Velvet have some pretty great singers with Seulgi and Wendy. But no one is as strong across the board as MAMAMOO. Check out I Miss You, especially the live version from Queendom for a real treat. It will bring tears to your eyes.

Mamamoo are Mamamoo, you can't compare them with anyone. People call them 'BeLis Mammoo' (Believe and Listen Mamamoo) because their music and voices are amazing and use Mamamoo as a music genre. I honestly still think it's a miracle that those 4 unique and gorgeous voices are in the same group, their vocal thecnique is insane, their stage presence? Oh Lord...indescribably powerful.
You have no idea how many ArmyMoos (bts and mamamoo fans) there are! 😂 Moonbyul (the rapper) is good friends with Jin, and both groups are supportive of one another & have interacted a lot. These women truly are gems in kpop. They have strong personalities and aren’t afraid to speak their opinions which is not common of idols. They also write their own lyrics and are very much involved in the music production process of their songs. Please check out Hwasa’s (the fierce one) solo song “Twit”. She has one of the most unique voice in the industry, an amazing performer, and is just very charismatic overall. I’m ot4 but gotta highlight the star that she is. You should also watch their MAMA performances!

It might just be me who sees this, but there's a good chunk of Armymoo fans out there! (Army is BTS fan name, and Moomoo is Mamamoo fan name hence Armymoo) They support each other supper sweetly from the fans I've interacted with. It also helps that BTS' Jin is friends with Moonbyul who is the main rapper of Mamamoo.

@@reyq2421 honestly I don't know that many channels, (I'm more of a casual fan) but the leader of Mamamoo (Solar) has her own YT channel called Solarsido. She posts regularly and there's eng subs so no worries on that. Mamamootv is similar to Bangtantv, you can try there too. If you have Twitter, they do updates on their comebacks and any side projects they do. (also, I'm sure there are Twitter moomoos that have translations and can offer better help than me 😅)
These women are amazing dancers, performers and they don't get enough recognition as it is :) They are very popular, though, but it's an under the radar thing. If I had to describe Mamamoo, I'd say they are a woman group. They have a very mature sound for a female group that I rarely see and they're consistent. If you like/love retro sounds and themes I'd recommend their older music. They now dabble into other genres too. Edit: You basically read my brain at 13:12 Thank you for giving them a chance btw 💜

In terms of vocal ability these are my opinions: Solar: has a extremely strong powerful voice and is normally the one who belts out strong notes Moonbyul: RAP QUEEN!!! and also has a lower register than the rest of the members so she fills in that gap (but don’t underestimate her abilities) ... I especially like the chill vibes she gives off in her songs Wheein: in my opinion she has the most stable vocal technique and easily hits notes in the higher register... also has a clear honey-like voice that blends easily with any of the other members Hwasa: has the most unique husky voice and she likes to play around with the whisperish-singing and growling when she belts notes. Also people forget this but she can rap as well and the tone of her rap is fireeee compared to other rappers in Kpop groups There are no main/lead vocalists in the group and I think all these girls do a good job of filling all the parts in which some members lack with the vocal range and emotional aspects of their music
“They don’t sound KPOPy” Good thing you noticed that. Kpop groups tend to bend their voices to a type of ”style” that fits the overall image of the group. Some people point out that they can tell what company certain kpop groups belong to just by the style of their singing. Which i think is crazy. But for Mamamoo, they use their natural singing voices. They can harmonize very well, but when it’s a member’s turn to lead, she uses her real voice that is distinct form the other 3. And with MMM’s music, they don’t stick to a certain genre. They started with a Jazzy & big band style, but they’ve evolved so much from there. They’ve tried almost everything. From ballads to hip hop to western & Spanish inspired to bops.
for me Mamamoo and Little mix are the only woman group that serve this kind of vocal, dance and friendship they are both group amazing !!!! This bunch of talent is nowhere else really and I'm here for those groups ahah

I recommend you react to Immortal songs medley is part of one of their concerts where they make a medley of the songs they sang for immortal songs 2 this is a program of the television network kbs basically In this competition they sing songs by legendary groups and artists in Korea and modify the songs to suit their style in the case of mamamoo all raps were written by Moonbyul and if you see the original songs are completely different to except for lyrics and some rhythms a clear example is Tom Jones' Delilah who was reinterpreted by Mamamoo, is a program in which they mostly go veteran artists with great voices, it is very difficult to win in this competition mostly idols since are about 6 battles in sequence without a definite order, the winner of the program is chosen by the audience present (usually looking to be a mixed audience with different ages) Besides the singer, songwriter or producer are in front of that adds more pressure ,mamamoo has been 15 times and won only 3 making them the only k pop group that has achieved this. Another of my recommendations are the MAMA 2018 or Queendom Destiny here also demonstrate their vocal talent there is also a compilation of them singing acapella called Mamamoo acapella Queens.

The thing that I love about Mamamoo it's not only their vocals and rap ( They're 4 strong artists, 3 vocals, 1 rapper) but their personality. How they show up to the world it's very unique. Most of the girl groups that I'd seen are like or too girly or too swaggy but they can be both without being over the top. They're very goofy and loud something that is not common on girl groups in Korea (I remember watched them on some shows and the MCs went like "They're crazy"). They stand for what they believe and I respect that.
Truthfully En Vogue, maybe SWV, are the only female groups in recent history that can compete with the vocals Mamamoo has. I am so happy to see them start to get the recognition they deserve recently, but they honestly deserve more.

MAMAMOO is very well respected by Korean artists outside the kpop industry and is recognized as artists that can each hold their own as a soloist if they choose to. Watching immortal songs (some of the performances you watched were from that show) I have heard them compare MAMAMOO too En vogue as well! There are other great singers in kpop too but to have them all be in one group is not common and add to the fact that their chemistry together as people is great and likable to it really adds to their success.
Short note Mamamoo is not a regular Kpop girl group they are true artists with an original sound and lyrics. They really have a message. I'm hoping you keep reacting to them.

I can only think of one other kpop girl group with all-member harmonies, and that's Spica, sadly now disbanded. Neither Spica nor Mamamoo stick with the typical girl group formulas, which I like. Both have rappers that would be a main vocal in any other girl group. Both have main vocals that give me goosebumps, and harmonies for days.

It's just that they don't have this teenager vibe that many kpop girl groups have. They aren't "aged down" but really look like their age. I.e., grown women. It's a good thing

Thanks to reacting to Mamamoo's Immortal Songs performances. If you want more power vocals, Mamamoo have songs like I Miss You and Paint Me that also utilize their talents. However, Mamamoo is extremely versatile and they can do everything from pop to rap to even silly, with songs like HIP, 1cm (Taller Than You), and Waggy. There's no genre that they can't do tbh.
They didnt have specific role such as main vocal or main dancer or visual. U can watch 'Immortal Songs Medley', a live performance in their concert. That performance showcases Mamamoo vocal n the rap also outstanding in that performance❤️
Mamammo's music is diverse but originally it was more jazz based. They do a lot of their own songwritting and also have done some of their own choreographies. They have a wide range (not just high notes and belting), they have very distinguishable voices that blend beautifully, very tight harmonization, a lot of confidence/easy on stage... People used to praise them/be impressed in particular for being that rookie group who performed as an experienced artist even in their debut LOL I agree with you comment about them being grown women, I mean, they're still young, but their stage presence is very womanly, not artificially so infantilised as some other girl groups, it's great. It's funny because they have quite youthful/sunny/dorky personalities yet act so much like empowered ladys on stage, but, women are three dimensional beings, so.

The cut in this mv are taken from a Korean variety music show called “Immortal song” (it’s a show where singer covered legendary Korean song infront of the real singer), and actually the oldest cut from this mv is in 2015 and they debuted on 2014. And when you ask “who is this man?” He’s the real singer of Delilah Korean ver, and he made that awe face 😁. For their position, there’s no main vocal in this girl group its a group with 4 vocals, 4 dancers, 4 rapper, 4 visuals. But in their mv song “um oh ay yeh” they said that Solar (Leader, vocal) ; Moonbyul (rapper, performance) ; Wheein (vocal, performance) ; Hwasa (vocal, rapper).

I recommend you react to Immortal songs medley is part of one of their concerts where they make a medley of the songs they sang for immortal songs 2 this is a program of the television network kbs basically In this competition they sing songs by legendary groups and artists in Korea and modify the songs to suit their style in the case of mamamoo all raps were written by Moonbyul and if you see the original songs are completely different to except for lyrics and some rhythms a clear example is Tom Jones' Delilah who was reinterpreted by Mamamoo, is a program in which they mostly go veteran artists with great voices, it is very difficult to win in this competition mostly idols since are about 6 battles in sequence without a definite order, the winner of the program is chosen by the audience present (usually looking to be a mixed audience with different ages)
Besides the singer, songwriter or producer are in front of that adds more pressure ,mamamoo has been 15 times and won only 3 making them the only k pop group that has achieved this.
Another of my recommendations are the MAMA 2018 or Queendom Destiny here also demonstrate their vocal talent there is also a compilation of them singing acapella called Mamamoo acapella Queens.

Let me tell you! I first fell in love with Hwasa after watching their live stage performance at the MAMA awards 2018. Now I’ve fallen in love with all 4 of these Queens! You’re right they remind me of En Vogue. I fell in love with them because of their live vocals, their mature sound, their unique looks, they write their own lyrics, their message of being strong, women! They are truly on another level! They are not k-pop idols. They are artists! I am a Moomoo and I welcome you to the radish farm!

The thing that I love about Mamamoo it's not only their vocals and rap ( They're 4 strong artists, 3 vocals, 1 rapper) but their personality. How they show up to the world it's very unique. Most of the girl groups that I'd seen are like or too girly or too swaggy but they can be both without being over the top. They're very goofy and loud something that is not common on girl groups in Korea (I remember watched them on some shows and the MCs went like "They're crazy"). They stand for what they believe and I respect that.
BTW, Solar, Hwasa and Wheein and Moonbyul all have solo work. DEF check it out.

I love this other girl group LITTLE MIX the 4 of them are amazing vocalists. I also love MAMAMOO their my favorite girl Kpop group.
Truthfully En Vogue, maybe SWV, are the only female groups in recent history that can compete with the vocals Mamamoo has. I am so happy to see them start to get the recognition they deserve recently, but they honestly deserve more.

MAMAMOO is very well respected by Korean artists outside the kpop industry and is recognized as artists that can each hold their own as a soloist if they choose to. Watching immortal songs (some of the performances you watched were from that show) I have heard them compare MAMAMOO too En vogue as well! There are other great singers in kpop too but to have them all be in one group is not common and add to the fact that their chemistry together as people is great and likable to it really adds to their success.

I can only think of one other kpop girl group with all-member harmonies, and that's Spica, sadly now disbanded. Neither Spica nor Mamamoo stick with the typical girl group formulas, which I like. Both have rappers that would be a main vocal in any other girl group. Both have main vocals that give me goosebumps, and harmonies for days.

It's just that they don't have this teenager vibe that many kpop girl groups have. They aren't "aged down" but really look like their age. I.e., grown women. It's a good thing

A recent western (British) girl group with strong vocals by all 4 members is Little Mix. They're the only ones I would compare MAMAMOO with.

Thanks to reacting to Mamamoo's Immortal Songs performances. If you want more power vocals, Mamamoo have songs like I Miss You and Paint Me that also utilize their talents. However, Mamamoo is extremely versatile and they can do everything from pop to rap to even silly, with songs like HIP, 1cm (Taller Than You), and Waggy. There's no genre that they can't do tbh.
They didnt have specific role such as main vocal or main dancer or visual.
U can watch 'Immortal Songs Medley', a live performance in their concert. That performance showcases Mamamoo vocal n the rap also outstanding in that performance❤️

Mamammo's music is diverse but originally it was more jazz based. They do a lot of their own songwritting and also have done some of their own choreographies. They have a wide range (not just high notes and belting), they have very distinguishable voices that blend beautifully, very tight harmonization, a lot of confidence/easy on stage... People used to praise them/be impressed in particular for being that rookie group who performed as an experienced artist even in their debut LOL I agree with you comment about them being grown women, I mean, they're still young, but their stage presence is very womanly, not artificially so infantilised as some other girl groups, it's great. It's funny because they have quite youthful/sunny/dorky personalities yet act so much like empowered ladys on stage, but, women are three dimensional beings, so.
The crazy thing is, they’re still improving up until now. The cut in this mv are taken from a Korean variety music show called “Immortal song” (it’s a show where singer covered legendary Korean song infront of the real singer), and actually the oldest cut from this mv is in 2015 and they debuted on 2014. And when you ask “who is this man?” He’s the real singer of Delilah Korean ver, and he made that awe face 😁. For their position, there’s no main vocal in this girl group its a group with 4 vocals, 4 dancers, 4 rapper, 4 visuals. But in their mv song “um oh ay yeh” they said that Solar (Leader, vocal) ; Moonbyul (rapper, performance) ; Wheein (vocal, performance) ; Hwasa (vocal, rapper).
