      Mr.NeedleMouse32X I believe you. But I'm just going to say in gen one charizard couldn't learn fly. Also he uses four moves in battle and not one of them are fly. Or it could be that red has a flying charizard from sun and moon.

      Micheal Universe OBJECTION (ey, reference anyone?) Charizard CAN learn fly in gen 1 but ONLY IN YELLOW. So I might have just blown my own case to shards but I stand by my point, charizard is CLEARLY able to fly in yellow, sun, and the anime

    I think red was just training on mount silver which is why his levels are so high. He didn't have to train at the top he probably just got there shortly before Gold did. He doesn't talk because he doesn't in Gen 1. Once defeated he blacks out and goes back to training.

    • @mr.needlemouse32x
      @mr.needlemouse32x 8 лет назад +7

      that would be red from the adventures manga.
      and besides, he's so high leveled probebly from having a rematch with Blue in the indigo plateu (no idea how to spell that) which blue had pokemon like tyranitar and haracross, plus his pokemon are a bit above level 70. also theres not a lot of strong pokemon to fight in mount silver, also keep in mind about the 2 year time gap.

      Red defeated the Pokemon league and became Champion in Kanto.

  • @Lagw1020
    @Lagw1020 7 лет назад +24

    OR!! Red was just traveling after becoming champion and searched for new pokemon and ended up in Mt Silver. After meeting the protagonist, he wanted to battle and lost...After he lost, the same thing happened to other trainers when they loose...he blacked out..."but there are many other trainers that loose and don't black out". The company decided to do something clever. Its Red, a player used for red, blue, green, and yellow. And like before, when Red lost in those games he blacks out...think of it as a 4th wall break or a little reference to the first game.

  • @henrygreen2096

    I think it's a combination of the first and third theory. I don't like the Red in Pokemon Origins, he was a bit too cartoony/anime protag for me to see him as a badass, so I'm not going to take his journey into account.
    1. I believe RED finished the pokedex catching Mewtwo, that's why he's there in Gold/Silver.
    2. He catches Mew and on his journey back realises that there are more than 150 pokemon.
    3. Oak tells him about Johto.
    4. He beasts himself through johto, becomes champion, but turns it down.
    5. (And this is where I get kinda outlandish) He hears about a roaming legendary pokemon that WILL appear on Mt. Silver (Maybe Arceus) at a certain time.
    6. He trains himself to travel/survive up on the mountain for extended periods of time.
    7. Whatever he was going to catch he needed those pokemon he had. That's when "Ethan" get's to him.
    ...
    8. He isn't successful so he travels to Hoenn, Sinnoh, and then Unova
    9. The reason he in the tournament is to make sure he's still strong (???)
    It's a theory in progress but, eh.

    I actually have my own theory on why red went to mount silver, I don't think Red would just stand their and wait for mew considering he'd need to actually look for Mew, I think it's possible that Red after accomplishing all of his goals felt like he truly was the best and the only ones who could challenge him are those who do the same, gold being able to do just that could have opened reds eyes to the fact that others can indeed do what he has done so he returns in black and white, in a way being on mount silver could be seen as a sort of metaphor for just how high above Red thinks he is to everyone else in his skills.

  • @bigsammichthoughts
    @bigsammichthoughts 8 лет назад +38

    I am an optimist, no matter how negative I may seem when I tell the truth. So how about this? Red was at the top of Mt. Silver when Ethan arrived. Red noticed that Ethan had all the badges, even the Elite Four completion one. So Red decided to battle him. The ".................." was because we couldn't hear them over the wind and hail. After the battle, Red climbed down the other side of Mount Silver - the side that goes off the map - and left into another region. Or maybe he just use Fly to go away. He was wearing short sleeves because, well, we all know that Red/Ash isn't super smart, based off the comics and TV show, so he probably just didn't know it would be cold. And we know about all these new regions because Red is a pioneer, and tells the guy with the camera - the one who records the Pokémon adventures in-game, whoever is broadcasting the game onto the screen - about the regions. So camera-guy goes to the new regions, and we get the adventures there.
    This is my theory.

    3:17 Don't think you even mention that "one small thing"
    3:54-3:59 Gold didn't, so why should Red have to? Red still has Pokemon that can satisfy his needs (and is it too Farfetch'd ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) to think that Pokemon don't get hail damage while outside of battle? If Gold has his leading party member follow him around outside of its Pokeball on top of Mount Silver then it doesn't take damage until battle begins). And it's not like Red had to climb up their himself; he could have a Pokemon use Rock Climb just like Gold did.

    I’m in the middle of a study on red for an article I am composing. I discovered that the only Pokémon he has used in game besides his gen 1 pokemon are, of course his espion but also in the later series he has each johto starters final evolution stage AND each of the legendary dogs (raikou suicune and entai) and nothing from any generation beyond that point. This leads me to believe that your third theory is the most plausible as it is confirmed he has done some hunting in johto, likely spurred by his mt. Silver trip. (Which was spurred by his looking for mew) the only problem is that Mew is seemingly never tied to Mt silver. However, he could have just been told there were Pokémon there, that were confirmed to be real (unlike mew) that he knowingly hasn’t caught.

    i feel that pokemon special offers a more logical explanation. red goes with mount silver with gold in order to train him as well as giving pika time to have quality time with his son pichu hatched by gold. they stay there for an unknown amount of time but i believe people do know where they are and the only seen accommodation is a hotspring (maybe either lower down the mountain or made by golds typhlosion) though it is possible that they are not staying their 24/7 since they do eventually leave the mountain. also there was one outside witness watching their training in order to interview red who was so impressed by his pokemon that he decided to make a power ranger like tv show (that dia and silver love) with his pokemon poliwrath, venasuar, pikachu, snorlax, gyarados, and aerodactyl as the leads.

  • @BassManiac07

    It makes more sense that Red is in fact dead and you're fighting his ghost. Makes more sense than any other theory.
    Let's join two of them. Red wants to look for Mew, he's been everywhere but Mt.Silver, NOW, looking at various character/npc dialogue about Mt. Silver from both the games AND Anime, it is known that this mountain is in fact a dangerous area. Not just talking about the elevation and impending weather but I believe the one guard at Victory Road even says to you during G/S/C something along the lines of "you can't come this way yet...there's many dangerous pokemon...", whether or not you want to believe the idea that Pokemon can hurt humans is up to you.
    Now let's revisit the Marawak ghost in Lavender town. It stays their, by the stairs because it simply CANNOT move on to the afterlife. If you don't have the SILPH SCOPE the ghostly Marawak will BLOCK YOUR PATH. It is not transparent, it is a physical entity. Well perhaps Red is as well. Maybe training on Mt.Silver his Pokemon fainted and trying to get to the Pkmn center he fell to his death, froze to death, mauled by Pokemon...idfk. But he's dead, and he stays at Mt.Silver, not because he wants to, because he is forced to. It is HIS purgatory. And perhaps he cannot transition into the after life until he finishes/completes the task he set out to do. Mew is not on the mountain, therefore Red is stuck their indefinitely. Not even beating him in a battle sends him away - which is the sadest.

    I have a modified explanation, that combines 1 and 3. He originally went there looking for Mew, and found many new Pokemon. Realizing that Oak lied to him, he trained, vigorously, going to the most obscure locations, and eventually chasing Mew once more to Mt. Silver. There he trained himself, made himself stronger, as he learned that Mew would only appear for the strongest trainer in the world. He needed Mew in order to be powerful enough to face Professor Oak once and for all, as Red learned that Oak had committed unethical Pokemon research and experiments. He needed to stop it. However, his quest was interrupted. Gold defeated him, dethroning Red as the most powerful trainer. Red, in despair, threw himself off of Mt. Silver, leaving Oak to continue his unethical research.

    What if Red was trying to complete the KANTO Pokédex because he knew that there were more pokémon (because there obviously are more than 151. Ash saw Ho-oh in Kanto as it was flying.) and was trying to complete that instead of yhe national Pokédex, went to the mountain to find Mew, stayed there for a short period of time, used the mountain as a lookout point to try to see Mew, and then got challenged by Gold and whited out due to his lack of Pokémon? This would explain his sudden disappearance, his ability to be there, and why he reappears in the Champion Tournament, supposedly catching Mew, and wanting to battle for fun and be a champion again.

  • @Number_27

    My interpretation was always that after becoming champion and completing the dex, Red was so powerful that he just got bored of it all, and went to Mt. Silver to challenge himself and isolate

    I don't think Red stayed on top of Mt. Silver for long periods of time. I think he only went there to train and left when he was done training. After the battle with Gold, I think he was taken back, realizing that there were other trainers on par with himself and that he needed to train harder. I'd say he gave up his league champion status, went back to Palet Town, visited Oak and had a discussion, Oak tells him about the other regions, and Red decides to continue his journey to other regions to challenge himself. I do not believe he is a ghost or that he went mad after finding out there were more pokemon. He's a trainer, pretty sure he would be stoked there were more pokemon to discover.

    Has no one thought that what if Red did what he always (and heck every other trainer in this series) does when loses a battle, black out, think about ge just disappears 'cause you took down his pokemon what happens when OTHERS do that, he runs to the neatest pokemon center. That might be why just up and leaves after the fight

    What if he was using the mountain as a vantage point? It makes sense, if you have just cleared two regions and two elite fours and filled the pokedex with one team then you need find a real challenge like climbing a mountain to cross into a new territory. Mew lives in a tropical rain forest as well, so not sure why he's gone looking up a snowy mountain.....

    I have a really crazy (and kinda long) theory about Red (in Modern Timeline).
    After defeating the league, Red travels to the Sevii Islands and stops the possible Team Rocket's return, and there he finds Pokemon from Johto.
    After seeing than the world is a lot more that just Kanto and, thanks to the machine that let the communication between Kanto and Hoenn, Red had the chance to contact Brendan/May and trade Pokemon from both regions. He also learned about other interesting places (an island where it is said that Mew lives and another one for Deoxys). Red would be really exciting about everything that happens in Hoenn, reason that let him hype to go there and, even if he couldn't see the Groudon/Kyogre events, he would find a really big challenge (besides the Hoenn League): the Battle Frontier.
    After his adventure in Hoenn, Red would return to Kanto and explain everything to his mom, Green and Oak, etc. and he would notice a big technologic advance in the region. He also would know about a boy called Gold from a really close region known as Johto and how he managed to stop the return of Team Rocket and became the new League Champion, which included Kanto and Johto now. He decides to battle him, so he goes to train in Mt. Silver and, for an odd coincidence, he finds him at the top of the mountain. He uses his old team because is his favorite, not because he doesn't have another one.
    After a fiery battle, Red loses and goes to the Pokemon Center. He goes to Johto to get some new Pokemon, visit some famous places and, of course, get back his Champion title. But while he is in Johto, there's a not-so-far region in the north (Sinnoh), where strange events are happening (Palkia/Dialga). Without Team Rocket and with a lot of experience at that point, Red wouldn't take too long to get back in the Hall of Fame and he would hurry up to Sinnoh.
    In Sinnoh, he would be late again to see the legendary Pokemon, but he would fill again his Dex and fight another Battle Frontier.
    After traveling this four regions (Kanto, Hoenn, Johto, Sinnoh), some years (between three and four) have passed since his battle with Gold. Technology has advanced at big steps and people from really far away regions is finally having a bigger contact with the other without many problems. Red discovers a totally new region, which wasn't really known before: Unova. He manages to go there a while after the events in BW2 and he inmediately wants to catch the all new Pokemon he sees there. One day, he finds a peculiar tourney where people from all the world can enter. There he finds really close people, like Green, Giovanni or Lance, and a mysterious boy who looks like a great trainer. It isn't 100% sure that they fought in the tourney, so he may win/lose/tie with this kid.
    He then just becomes a Pokemon Master who travels to new regions searching for new challenges and Pokemon to catch.

    Realistically (if he were real) he would just be traveling around more regions...? There are now like 8 regions, and obviously more to be introduced in future titles, so I doubt he would just stay in Kanto/Johto forever.
